The ship had pulled up to a place called Haven. On a small stretch of land were several statues of people and Pokemon.
The island was for people who had relation ship with Pokemon. A place where the humans who could no longer turn back from Pokemon fusion or Pokesoul decided to live and love there partners. As well as people who married Pokemon that achieved their human form permanently.
The St.Anne II had an actual shipment to deliver to the place. Something picked up from Neo Vermillion City. Gray was also going to leave the hybrids here to recover. The bubbles had assure him they would be accepted.
The place was only considered an island due to the increase in the tide that put a large stretch of the land under water. A few hours out the day, the water would recede enough connecting everything back. The locals had given up on changing it. The Medical facilities and grocery stores were in the large part. While the school and port was on the smaller part.
The place altogether was about twice the size of Australia. An abundant amount of resources and Pokemon in several areas.
"Nice place." Gray said walking down the ramp. Several other trainers and people left the ship already. Clair and Silver were both behind him. "Wonder if the supplies here are decent?"
"Should still have the good stuff." Silver answered. "I have been here a few times. The place is really great. Good place to catch strong Pokemon to."
"Oh yeah?" Gray stopped at the pier and looked back. "Sabrina, Crystal, Abigal and Mary, have fun and see you all later."
"You bet!" Mary said. The Miltank was in her human form and determined to get a tan today. She got the idea from the Rescue Nurse Joy. "We will catch up later."
"Silver, make sure to get some "essentials" today!" Crystal waved frantically. This cause the young man to blush rembering what she meant.
"Good look with your work Gray." Sabrina waved. Gray gave a thumbs up and walked off. Crystal poked Sabrina in the side. "Whay is it?"
"What work does Gray have to do?"
"He accepted a few medical jobs that he qualifies for." Sabrina answered pulling up the list. "Here check em out."
"These.. are for Hybrids and people with damaged Pokemon combinations!" Crystal shook a little. Bad memories surfaced in her head. Memories of her little brother that she lost. "Is.. No nevermind." Seeing the young woman so sad was quite different.
"Stop worrying about what you cannot change. Come and have fun." Mary said. She lifted the girls up and ran to the upper deck. "It is time to tan!"
"Hehe." Officer Abigal just chuckled as she followed after. 'This Pokesoul is nice. I am never alone now.' she gave herself a small hug moving forward. 'I do wish Dianchie would wake up. She seems slightly lazy. Five hours is more than enough!"
-Small Hospital-
"Eeeh!" Simipour screeched. Her husband was right there with the rest of their children. "Maybe this was a bad idea.."
"Nonsense. You worked hard to obtain your human form. We did everything we could to get ready." Dean, her husband assured her as best he could. "Just not enough info out on people like us."
The man already exhausted all of his aura to soothe her. The children were antsy looking on from the side. Hray had to make it apparent if they rush in, they would cause more harm then good."
"It will be fine. We are at the bad part right now. She just needs to stop talking and focus on herself." Gray said almost coldly. He never understood the unending need to talk during pregnancy. Not only were they loosing strength but an increase in agitation or a spike of anger could cause the mother to move and hurt herself. "Just focus on your breathing and I will take care of the rest. You are doing fine otherwise."
Gray's aura spread around the woman's belly. He used it to heal the tissue damaged that was there. Slowly his psychic power moved enveloping the little ones inside. With a psychic knife, he cut each umbilical cord. And enansed them in small air bubbles.
"Alright this is where it gets tricky. Just stay still." Gray slowly moved his hand into her. Making contact, he teleported the first out, then the second, and then the third. "Ok just one more to go. How are you feeling? Just blink and pause if you are ok. Blink rapidly if you are not."
Simipour blink and paused for a bit. She gave a warm smile to the others that watched. She did not speak however.
"Where.. are our kids?" Dean asked worried. Gray nudged behind him to Rescue Nurse Dana Joy. She had each of them wrapped up and popped the gunk out of their noses and ears. Another nurse Joy was clearing their throats. The psychic energy was making sure their little bodies were working good enough. "Haaa. Thank you."
"Uh huh." Gray moved the last baby slowly. He placed the baby in the center and slowly moved it out. "Ok, this last one is strong. Your body needs to go through the natural birth for you to remember what it is like."
"Mmm." The Simipour humm agreeing.
"Can you not just take.." Dean started to ask.
"Shut up." Gray said simply. "Now focus and push."
"Ugggh!" Simipour yelled as she pushed. Gray did not let her know he was helping move the baby along. "Aiiie!" The woman used Screech attack. It was great that it targeted her husband and not Gray.
"You are doing just fine. Keep pushing." Gray felt the head and gently pulled. "One more push!"
"Aiiie!" Simipour yelled and gave a final effort. Her baby came out into Gray's arms. He passed it to the father to cut the cord. While he helped clean out the obstructions. "Ahh.. ah.. is everything over?"
"More or less." Gray answered. Channeling his aura to his fingers, he moved his hands back inside and slowly healed her vaginal wall. "So... you two really need to lay off the rough sex for awhile. Jeez.. like a battlefield here."
"Ehhehe.. heehe right." Dean said embarrassed. "I will try to keep her calm next time."
"Not a chance." Semipour said unashamed in the least. Her recovery time was scary. The color returned to her cheeks and her breathing stabilized. Gray pulled his hand out quickly. "Hehe, good instincts." She was getting ready to snap shut on him. He had to resist the urge to yell she had a clapper.
"Yeah... I am gonna pass you on to another doctor. Just make sure you stay in this state for another day or so. Then visit a nutritionist. Not a Pokemon Breeder."
"Any thing we should be worried about?" Dean asked.
"No. But the way Pokemon and Human give birth is different. Recovery is also not the same." Gray tidied up and walked out of the stabilization field. Grabbing a few charts, he made notes and thought about what to improve for next tine. "Your recovery is quick like a Pokemon's, but you gave birth like a human. The average human woman would wait a good bit before doing anything strenuous. Which is smart."
"So awful." Semipour said grumpy. "I am a very active Pokemon."
"You are a very active woman." Gray chastised. "I recommend you to take it easy for a few days. Even two weeks to be sure. You forget that your body just went through an ordeal. Currently you are ok because of my aura supplementing you. You plan on using your husband's aura constantly to make sure after a bout of fatigue?"
"Maybe it is best to listen." Dean said as he grabbed her hand. Nurse Joy had already grabbed his son out of his arms to clean him up.
"Ehh maybe." Semipour said.
"Well if anything happens, do not call me." Gray finished on the chart. He mark all his suggestions and what he believed was best for healing and treatment. "I will not waste my time on someone that wont listen."
(Pokemon Doctor + 4, Pokemon Breeding + 2)
'Need to make sure everything is done correctly. these quests very plentiful. perfect time to gain stat points and see to my Pokemon care more. especially for the long run.' Gray waved at the nurse Joy's and moved on.
-Next Patient-
"A little help please!" An older man yelled. He was pushing an elderly woman in a wheelchair. She had a piece of glass sticking out of her shoulder. "We need some help!"
Gray continued helping the children he was next to. A few scraped and really bad bruising from playing to rough and falling down. A nurse Joy came over and helped the couple.
"Hey Gray," A child already treated got his attention. "..why did you not go and help them?"
"Because she was fine." Gray didnt look up as he finished wrapping the other little boys foot up. The other children watched intently to make sure they could do it themselves next time. "Make sure the wrap is tight, but not to tight circulation is cut off."
"Mhm." The boy nodded. He had ears like a Lilipup. Not tail though. A hybrid born of Pokesoul Mother and Actual human form Pokemon. "I will do just that!"
"But she could have seriously been hurt somewhere else." Another child said after thinking. She had the tail of a Ponyta. It was just multicolored for some reason. "What about the doctor pledge of.."
"I am a private doctor. I am not going to follow it. Besides, if they have a problem with it and my license is revoked, it does not matter to me. I will still do me." Gray said moving to the next child. "Hold still. This is a slight sprain."
"Gabby uses her hands to much. Always training." A red headed girl said. "That is the the Hitmochan in her."
"Best hands around." Gabby said with pride. Gray plucked her fore head for moving. "Oww."
"Hold still as I apply the balm. Then Cersi, you will wrap her wrist up." Gray had a small jar made from Energy Root and Oran Berries. "Always apply to the damage area and move outward to the outside."
"Like this?" A blue haired boy asked as he helped another boy with a bad cut on his forearm. Gray had no idea what Pokemon he was mixed with till the boy turned scared at seeing a lot of blood. He was mixed with an Oshawott.
"That is good. Glad you rembered to use gloves." Gray said smiling. He watched as the other followed suit and did the same. It was not long before they all finished up. "Good job. Here try these."
"Ehh pokeblocks?" Cersi asked. She ate it along with the others."Ehh I feel tons better!" The kids agreeing with. They were about to start jumping around before Gray stopped them.
"Still a hospital. Walk home and give these slips to your parents. It may even help get you all some more outside time." Passing the papers, Gray moved on to his next set of patients. "Spend at least 30 minutes a day resting a little. You will be suprised on the reaction of your bodies after."
"Bye Gray!" The kids yelled before taking off. The taking it easy only lasted till the door.
-A chat-
"Prof.Oak, so far it is working fine. We just need more people to work with the different treatment. Preferably aura users of high volume." Gray said reporting in. "The recovery period can be done by regular doctors."
"I see." Prof.Oak thinned through some paperwork. He was impressed with the detail Gray put in the work. It contain readings on core temperature for each patient and the heart before and after. "The biggest is aura that I see. Anyone giving birth or needing surgery will need an aura User on standby. The loss of vitality seems to be to much."
Gray moved in the chair around the desk. He picked up a file on medicinal herbs. As well as one on practical medicine.
"I have found that Full Restore is not the best treatment course for Iv Drip. The mixture is to powerful and causes the body to go into shock. One of the doctors here, is the most to be credited for this fine." Gray sent the new file over. "Potion, Super Potion are fine for helping restore vitality. But using more than one causes the body to go into overdrive. Especially in the none original pokemon. The use of Max Potion on a man in surgery put him in a coma."
"Is he awake yet?" Prof.Oak asked really concerned.
"Yes. Treatment by Hypno and Gardevoir helped greatly. Gardevoir seem to have a very strong effect on people with mental issues. More so than even Psychic Pokemon specifically. I have no idea why." Gray just gave a shrug. "I recommend someone with that Pokemon specifically get furthur into the medical field."
"Hmm." Prof.Oak just contemplated for a bit. Seeing Mewtwo walk in, he end their talks. "I will get touch with the right people. Keep up the good work."
As he ended the communication, Gray received a few visitors. A few of the others had come around to check and see how things were going. They broke for a late lunch.
-Hybrids Treatment-
Gray had found a place to purchase with ease during lunch. A lot of realstate was available. With the help of him doing some doctor work, the residents made it even easier on him. Paperwork went fine and the facility was already up and running.
"Ok, hear we go." Gray released all the hybrids from the gate they were placed in. The excess Aura energy had been weened off them. They just needed a little rehab and more work to go back to normal. "Hmmm?" Turning, he saw the others had come over after they went away for lunch.
"Hey, it's the people from that island. Thought they died." Crystal said. She recognized a few of them from her trips before to the place. The Pokemon features were not enough to disguise them. "Didn't the report say they all died?"
"It was to provide safety as.. well to see if they could be saved." Officer Abigal moved over to her cousin. "She looks so peaceful."
Empress floated around with a few other Pokemon with psychic moves. They checked over to make sure nothing was wrong mentally. A pokemon cat scan if you will.
"Yeah... just a coma.. or hibernation. Take your pick." Gray walked around each of the cots. His psychic power running over each of them. "Fear.. anger.. desperation. So much to go through." Doing a few laps and speaking gently to them psychically, he stopped. "Nurse Joy, what do you think?"
"Hmm so far they are ok." Nurse Joy had taken temperatures, pulse, and used a small medical scanner to check over their bodies for breaks and tears.
Working in conjunction with the Pokemon provide really smart. Her Zubat flying down to a few extracting samples. Its fangs taking blood and providing a bit of aura from it to help with healing.
Gray was skeptical at first, but left alone after seeing that it was viable treatment. And that the Zubat was highly trained.
"I think they will make great recoveries if they remain calm and get use to the change."
"Ugggh." A man groaned as he tried to sit up. Nurse Joy's Hitmonchan pushed him back down. "Where am I?"
"Easy, you need to remain calm as I explain things to you. If you do not, My buddy Hitter will knock you out." Nurse Joy's bedside manner made Gray smile broadly. The others.. not so much. "You were in an accident." As she started speaking, Gray saw to the others who started to wake up.
Things did not go well for a lot of people. They were forced to go to sleep. Each of the hybrids contained an overwhelming amount of power. Something that did not show up at first. Agitated, they turn more into Pokemon with a hint of savagery.
"Gray.. that anger is not normal." Sabrina said. "I ran into that type before. Back in the Dungeon I dissapeared to. The place was extremely Primal based. Pokemon Body parts were used to make weapons. Pokemon lead massive armies against one another."
"Right down anything you remember. I will pass it on to the Elite League and a few contacts." Gray looked at her slightly stomped for a moment. Sabrina's face was unreadable. "Whay is it?"
"Why not just let me do it?"
"Well.. actually you are right. I thought ti shield you from any direct inquiries they might have. That was my mistake." Gray shook his head feeling foolish. "You can take care of yourself. If you need any assistance let me know."
"Right." Sabrina gave a small smile as she got to work. Clair looked at Crystal intently. They both shrugged after a moment.
-Afterward-
It was late at night when Gray was paged to return to the hospital. A few Pokemon children had started sleeping walking. Apparently a few Duskull had gotten inside. They raised a few problems causing the babies and toddlers to freak out.
Gray had to resist the urge to kill the Pokemon for the trouble they caused. A few infants almost died. Thankfully Silver was able to get him to calm down. The Duskull just loved children for some reason. After a few minutes of explaining to the Pokemon the importance of allowing them to rest, the little hospital gained free nurses.
Considering they could go through walls it made things easier when the rowdy pokemon would escape.
"Maybe what they did, is a bad idea." Crystal said lowly. She was at the nursery watching all the hybrids in the intense care unit. Some were more human than Pokemon. But a few traces of their parent could be seen. "I mean, what if the worse would have happened?"
These were the hybrids that needed more care than the others. In a few years after there bones settled from the growth period, they could live normal lives. Well as normal as anyone else really.
"Silly." Gray said simply. He was working on several screens coordinating with the Doctors and Nurses. Any information obtained was better than none. "Childbirth itself is dangerous. This is just unknown factors is all. Technological inferior places run into the same problem." Gray passed one more over before giving Crystal his full attention. "I am sure you wouldn't tell regular people or Pokemon that they shouldnt have children that live in those areas?"
"No, no I wouldnt. I just do not want to see them so sad." Crystal smiled painfully.
"But look at them over there. Stop looking at the critical condition ones." Gray pointed to the opposite near the 3 months old who were under observation. "They are all fine and bursting with vitality."
"Yeah.."
Inside were 3 Chimchar Human Hybrids. They rolled around playfully with each other. They refused to go back to sleep. The ears and arms of a Chimchar, but the overall body of a human.
"Chish!" The door opened in the hallway. A few people walked over to Gray and Crystal. The head Doctor was a man by the name of Crawford Pox.
"Haaa!" Dr.Pox sighed heavily. He was exhausted but was happy none the less at everything they achieved. Both he and the two nurse Joy's walked over to Gray. "May I speak with you?"
"Go ahead."
"Any chance you mind staying a bit longer? We could really use the help?" Dr.Pox just knew he had to ask.
"I can not. I have other work to do. This is just something I do for various reasons." Gray shook his head slowly. His hair fluttering back and forth in front of his face. 'I need a haircut! This will get me killed in a battle.'
"Surely the call of a trainer is not more important?" Nurse Joy asked.
"To you, maybe not. But to me it is. As well as my work as a Elite Trainer, Pokemon Breeder, and With Rescue Operations." Gray gave them his full attention after pushing his hair back and putting it in a ponytail. "Confined to this one space would put more lives at risk. I can however send updates on things I find and figure out."
"Tch!" A little girl took off running upset. She dropped a picture on to the ground. One of the nurse Joy's ran after her.
"Sorry about that. She is one of the first born here." Dr.Pox said quickly. "Her mom was barely able to recover after her birth. Finding out another doctor was able to help treat hybrids was the best news we ever recived."
"Hmmm, give her this." Gray handed a black feather over after receiving a small pause. "Tell her to hold onto this no matter what. It's a good luck charm for the future."
"A Pokemon feather?" Dr.Pox asked. Gray just smiled as he moved over to check patients again. Crystal coming with. Silver was calling him telepathically for awhile now. Something about Gray's new Pokemon not letting go of Tyrunt.
