Chapter 404 - Days MDCCCVII - MDCCCXXII, Part VI

After she introduced herself to Will's family, she led us to their floor, explaining that rooms located there are for VVIP's.

I noticed that she and the agents seemed to already know each other.

The room was nice with a minibar, large corner couch, black, and a nice grass table. The windows were made so we could see the main hall, but nobody from the outside could see us.

- You need to give us one more hour. Everything is not ready yet, but then we will be very happy to celebrate your arrival - said Aisha to them. - Please help yourself with drinks. If you need anything more use the phone.

There was one on the wall, and she pointed at it.

- Now, I need to excuse myself. There are still few things in need of my attention.

With those words, she left, and just as the door behind her closed, Elaine turned to Will.

- Can we talk somewhere in private? - she asked Will.

He nodded, and they also left.

- This seems also like a good opportunity. We would like to talk with you, mister Peter - said Wolf. - In private. I'm sure we can find the right spot somewhere here.

I shrugged my shoulders, and followed them outside, as Dustin, glued to the window, was looking down at the main hall.

They led me to the staircase leading a flor below, and we stopped on the half floor, where the stairs were changing direction, and turning back, still leading up.

- We want to ask you about few things.

- Ok. Ask.

- Couple of months ago there was a peculiar incident in New York, where a few influential figures of the Russian mafia basically called the police on themselves. During the interrogation some of them mentioned a man who did strange things, other just didn't talk at all, but everybody had the same thing in common. They were scared out of their minds. The person they described is awfully similar to you. Also, the incident matches with the visit Mrs. Elaine mentioned before - said Wolf.

- Was that you, mister Peter? - asked Agent Zander.

I shrugged my shoulders.

- Why are you asking?

- Because the gate was open less than a month ago, which means you had a way to go to earth before. We would kile to know, how is that? - he continued.

- World is a strange place I suppose - was my answer.

- Don't play dumb with us. We know it was you - said Wolf. - Just tell us how.

- Even if it was like you think it was, why would I tell you that?

- We know you have a family in Poland - Wolf continued. - Marzena is her name, isn't it?

He butchered the name, but that wasn't actually the main problem. The main problem was that they knew about my family. I suspected something like that might happen, not only to me but to everybody here.

- So?

- So we can make her visit. We can make many things for you if you cooperate. United states are right now in conversations with India about tight military cooperation, that involves this place. We already agreed to trade a large amount of military equipment. Jets, helicopters, and even tanks for access. It will be finalized very soon. This means we will be seeing each other very often.

- We were tasked to establish a relationship with this place. Right now we are still under CIA, but it will change, as the need for a separate agency is quite obvious - explained Grant. - Why won't we help each other? We are already helping your friend.

- Ok, let me make one thing straight. I don't work with people whom I don't trust, and my trust is something you have to earn. Moreover, even mentioning my family to me is a bad idea, and I advise you to back the hell out. You don't want me as your enemy.

- We know what you can do. We saw it clearly today - said Wolf.

- You know shit - I said to him, then shadow walked straight to his face while activating 'Shadow fusion', then grabbed his shoulder.

I noticed my own hand with black veins and fingernails. It was more bony than normal, the skin was gray, and a slight bit of smoke was coming out of it.

He reacted unconsciously, by trying to step back, but he had a wall behind him, and he hit it. Zander tried to do something, but I stopped him before anything happened, and pressed to the other, perpendicular, wall using 'Telekinesis'.

- I hope we understand each other, and I don't have to show you why those guys were so afraid. Or do I?

Wolf shook his head, and I let them both go while turning all my skills off. 

- Good. Why don't we now go back, and pretend nothing happened here? Hmm?

- Yeah... S-sure - he said.

Grant fixed his suit, and they both followed me back to the VVIP room. Dustin and Josh were sitting comfortably on the couch, drinking some juice. Elaine and Will joined us soon after.

He tried his best to hide it, but I noticed that something was wrong. Just another reason to talk with him, since I obviously needed to know what kind of deal he made with those two agents. I knew that I need to be aware of them.

My family was sacred to me, and I wouldn't let anybody touch my mother.

I wanted to pull him to the side, but then somebody knocked on the door. That somebody was Aisha.

- Everything is almost ready - she said while poking her head inside. - We will be opening in a moment. I would like you all to come down because I want to introduce you to the club crew, and then later to our guests. Is that ok?

- Yes, Yes... Of course - said Elaine, looking briefly at Josh.

He didn't seem to mind. People started to follow Aisha to the main hall, but I grabbed Will before he could leave.. The opportunity to talk was just too good to ignore.
