In the span of five days, many things had happened. The construction of my house has finally started. The filming of the show got booked. I even learned the name of the show and the host. Koffee with Mahinder, and the guy's name was Mahinder Varma.
To my surprise, it was in English. I thought there will be some translating involved, but since everybody could speak that language we could avoid that.
I met with Dustin and Will, to spent some time together. We played some board games the kid brought from the US and then trained his fencing skills a bit.
I went hunting with Tihana. She killed few rats, and I nagged her a lot, pointing out mistakes and holes in her fighting style.
Then the date finally came, and I found myself in a car with Sudarshana Patel, driving to Bombay. We could go via plane, but I wanted Ki'rai to see a bit of the world. From what I heard from Tihana, a bit later, she spent the whole time glued to the car window, looking at everything we passed by, amazed just by how much stuff there was around, and how many people.
Vikram Kaur also accompanied us, although he was sitting next to the driver.
- It's already the fourth show with people from Ark - said Sudarshana - so there shouldn't be any questions about hunters and hunting. Maybe some for Ki'rai, since she is a different species, so she might see things differently.
- Who was on those shows? - I asked, out of curiosity.
- Mister Amit, and mister Jayadeva. They also did few interviews. Why?
- Nothing, just curious.
She smiled at me.
- Back to business. They will mainly ask us about the alien civilizations. Uhms, the Xuvi, and Bahumdabars.
I wasn't surprised that she knew about both Xuvi and Bahumdabars since she for sure was asking around, and somebody told her the legends. Maybe even she found out something from Uhms through Hailwic.
- Too bad that two of those races got extinct - she continued, and gave me an interesting look.
Probably because she was suspecting I know more about those maters since I brought them some alien machinery nobody knew from and also mentioned books.
- Yeah. Too bad - I agreed immediately.
The corner of her mouth twitched. I almost laughed after noticing it. She licked her lips quickly, and for a moment her eyes switched from me to the window, as she slightly turned her head away, but then she came back with full focus.
- Ok, let's stop pretending. We both know that you know something. Are there other aliens you are working with?
She was excited and passionate. I could see it in the way she started talking to me, and also in her eyes.
- You want to know the truth, huh?
- Yes.
- You sure you are ready for it?
- Yes, I'm sure.
- But you have to be absolutely - I put an emphasis on this word - sure because there is no going back. Nothing ever will be the same.
- I'm ready.
- This has to remain between us. You can't tell anybody.
- I won't - she assured confidently.
- Now when I think about it, I'm not convinced I can trust you.
- I swear, I won't tell anybody. I will take the secret with me to the grave - she assured.
- But I barely know you. You could be lying to me.
- No - she protested. - We got to know each other during the trip. You know me. I'm a trustworthy person.
- But do I?
- Ok. Ask me anything. We can get to know each other better right here, right now.
- In a car? Come one. How about we have dinner, tonight?
The corner of her mouth twitched again.
- You devil! There is no secret! You are just trying to lure me into a date with you! - She said, and then she switched to several other languages, and probably called me names.
It was not enough for my skill to activate and fill em head with the knowledge, thankfully, because I didn't want to know all that languages since I only had a space for one more thanks to it not being upgraded enough.
I did a quick mental note to get the class to the second tier.
- Guilty as charged - I rose my hands in a gesture of surrender. - Or maybe... Maybe there is a secret there after all... Who knows...
I spread my hands a little while shrugging my shoulders in a theatrical gesture.
- I guess you won't find out, and it will forever be a mystery - I continued.
She needed to digest my words. She bit her lower lip, thinking. She peaked at me few times in the process and eventually spoke.
- Ok, let's have dinner, but - she rose her index finger closer to my face. - It will be a purely professional meeting. We will have dinner, talk, and then return to our rooms.
- Oh no, no, no - I rose my finger and waved it from side to side. - How are we going to know each other better if it will be a professional meeting? I want to find out who you are as a person. Only then I will know if I can tell you.
- You are a sneaky man, Peter. A womanizer. I won't be trapped in your web, you little spider.
- Spider? I'm not a spider. I'm a gentleman.
- A gentleman wouldn't use such a dirty tactic to invite a woman to date.
- Ok, I'm a gentleman in the making, so some dirty moves are still allowed.
- How many women did you use those dirty moves on, huh?
I started counting on my fingers, clearly exaggerating, just to see how her expression changed. I never expected her eyes to go this wide. She even opened her mouth when I went past ten.
- There is no way - she said.
- No way, you say? - I allowed myself to show her a little sly smirk. - You just don't know me well enough.
I finished with a wink.. She leaned back in her seat with her body showing a mix of surprise, anxiety, and excitement.
