In silence, we arrived finally at the military facility. There was a lot of movement there. Ships were constantly departing and landing, like a swarm of bugs. There were also some units on the ground gathering ins several places with some heavy weapons of war.
All of it was generating a lot of noise, but the humming of the working portal was still a bit louder, and you could easily distinguish its sound from all the others present around.
We landed, and people started leaving the vehicles, to head to the portal, but we were stopped, by soldiers.
Katri Xel Avakadaisu stepped forward to talk with them. It started quite calmly, but the hostile attitude towards us displayed by the Furuli was quite obvious. In just a few sentences the conversation escalated and Atri even yelled at the alien, but he didn't back down, so she returned to us.
- They said they got an order from the Emperor himself to not let us pass.
As she said that I noticed more and more units assembling around in a tight circle. There was also some heavier equipment being dispatched. Some mech-looking robots and stuff similar to tanks with large cannons on top.
- We won. He can't stop us like that, can't he? - asked Adam.
- There shouldn't be any problems with your departure, but he is trying to do something. We might get attacked here.
- Can he do that? - asked some hunter. - Won the get in trouble.
- He might come up with some kind of lie - she said to that. - We need to contact Ashal Kal Anur. I might be able to do that if I can access one of the vehicles we used to get here.
With those words, she immediately started walking to the small ship, but her path got blocked by the soldiers. She tried to talk with them but got pushed back.
At this point, I had fucking enough. I looked at the construction above, with the lamps and mirrors providing the light up high there, barely visible. And all the movement, with the flying vessels, constantly moving in and out of the place.
I asked myself if I'm gonna regret that later or not, and I got to a conclusion that with all the shit that already happened, and Ashal Kal Anur who was also pissed at Zor'xal, I had nothing to lose, so I just activated 'Eyes of the Void' to have a good look around and ascertain the numbers, counting in the heavy equipment too.
The forces were quite big. Nothing that could be a threat to us, but more were coming, and their weapons could have quite a destructive potential. But you know what also had a quite destructive potential? Me.
I used 'Shadow fusion' and all other skills. The void essence started slipping through the ground and was stirred by invisible winds, as in an eruption of black, thick smoke a wall of raging darkness surrounded everything.
The Furuli immediately grabbed their guns.
- Come out - I said loudly.
And he came. The gigantic arm rose from the ground behind us trashing everything on its way, sending the ships into the sky like toys. The loud bass of the moloch's battle cry shook the whole district making the ground tremble. The closer arm slammed into the ground, knocking most down, trashing the machinery, and crushing the soldiers. The fingers dug deep into the ground, as the second one emerged bringing just as much devastation.
I immediately rose a barrier around us and poured quite a chunk of my mana into it. The pieces of metal came raining down, just as the beams of energy shoot at us by the soldiers.
The head of the moloch finally appeared as he attempted to climb its way through the gigantic hole on the ground connecting this place to the void itself.
The Atri looked at the beast terrified, and the soldiers kept shooting, but for such a large beast it wasn't more than a silly joke.
In the midst of this chaos, my soldiers appeared between the Furuli jumping on them and stabbing with small daggers in suicidal attempts to take down as many as possible. The Fiends came to help, crushing and ripping apart the troops.
They maybe had better equipment, but the numbers on my side were overwhelming, and on top of that every shadow upon death was quickly replaced by a new one. Everything surrounding us quickly became completely black with all the spawns from the void crowding everywhere and just decimating the Dispurian forces.
I also made sure that my guys wouldn't in any way damage the gate, but with the shit going on around it quickly became quite hard, so I was forced to shadow walk to it and surround it with another barrier, but first I dropped an anchor among my friends. Then I allowed my forces to go nuts. I returned under the first barrier, after dropping the second anchor just by the gate, and started moving my friends, group by group, straight to the portal.
They quickly made it through and I was able to join them.
I did the whole thing under pressure because it would be obviously easier to just shadow walk them all to the hotel in Cairo without any of this mess happening at all, but my decisions were rushed, and I just simply didn't think about that.
On the other side, we were also greeted by more forces of Furuli. They quickly got their asses kicked by the hunters, who at this point, just like me, didn't give a shit.
- We won't be able to live this ship! - said Katri Xel Avakadaisu. - We don't have pilots, and I can fly only one vessel!
Her words made me almost facepalm, as I finally realized the fact that I could avoid all of this mess. I started grabbing people, and taking them to Egipt as fast as I could, leaving the strongest people at the very end, since I didn't have to worry about them at all.
Eventually, we all were back in the hotel, with many surprised guests and workers.
