The demons started roaring loudly in disappointment when the prey that was about to enter their mouths had suddenly disappeared.

After waiting for a few seconds, they still couldn’t see where the cultivators had gone.

The ground started to shake continuously.

A demon with a mist of fire all around it jumped out from the ground. It swung its head around to search for the men and kept roaring in indignation.

The other two had a change in expression. They scanned him with their Divine Sense and realized that Wu Jin really didn’t have any heartbeat nor signs of breathing.

Ma Liu lifted his head and roared in pain.

Leng Tianxing quietly looked down and gripped his fan tightly.

Gu Qingshan, on the other hand, found a dagger on the body. He stabbed it into the chest of the body and opened it up with a few cuts.

“Stop it!”

Ma Liu immediately flew into a rage when he saw this and swung his fist toward Gu Qingshan.

Ma Liu was a close friend of Wu Jin’s. He was so sad, that he was about to kill Gu Qingshan.

A fan suddenly struck out and blocked his fist.

Ma Liu’s eyes were bloodshot as he shouted, “Assistant General Leng, look at the way he’s treating Wu Jin’s body! I won’t let him off! I won’t let him off!!”

Leng Tianxing continued to look at what Gu Qingshan was doing and replied in a low voice, “Let’s wait and see first.”

Gu Qingshan stabbed the dagger into Wu Jin’s chest and twisted it hard within his heart.

Once the heart had been cut open, a tiny squeal was heard.

Gu Qingshan’s expression turned grim as he slowly pulled the dagger out.

Ma Liu stared at the dagger and opened his mouth in shock.

A little, black demon about the size of a thumb was stuck on the tip of the dagger.

The little, black demon was struggling with all its might, but there was no way for it to escape because the dagger was stabbed right through it.

Its hands and feet both had sharp claws, and there was a metal clanging sound as it desperately tried to scrape at the dagger.

“Heart-devouring Little Ghost. It enters from the mouth and eats the heart.”

Gu Qingshan sighed and passed the dagger to Ma Liu. “You can avenge Wu Jin.”

Ma Liu’s eyes were still bloodshot as he used all five fingers to grab the demon on the dagger.

The little, black demon made a loud screech as it was crushed to pieces along with the dagger itself.

“Hohoho… Hahahaha… I never expected things to end this way.”

Ma Liu suddenly started laughing.

Leng Tianxing’s expression changed, and he held Ma Liu down as he said, “You cannot bring someone back to life, so don’t go down together with him!”

Ma Liu pushed him away and shrieked, “He’s dead! He’s dead! You get it? We’re all going to die here.”

Gu Qingshan stood up and said very seriously, “No, we’re not. We still have a chance.”

The black mist finally started to dissipate.

There was a happy murmur in the air.

Gu Qingshan and Leng Tianxing quietly watched this whole thing happen, and they were both covered in a cold sweat.

“What was that?” murmured Leng Tianxing.

“What is a Heaven Demon?” asked Leng Tianxing.

Gu Qingshan didn’t want to say too much. He was afraid that Leng Tianxing might lose all his fighting spirit.

D*mn it! Even a Heaven Demon had appeared now. But he didn’t have any amulets to block it.
