Chapter 48:Still Remain

"Sheloah."

Veon said Sheloah's name rather loudly and it woke her up. Since their trip started, she drifted off to sleep, tired because of fighting and crying at the same time.

She just realized that she was actually dreaming and that those were just her memories with her classmates.

They were no longer in their school.

The groups decided to talk about where they would go next once they stop in [1]Pangasinan to rest. Their only main priority now is leaving Baguio City; their home city. Once they reach Pangasinan, they will make a new plan. Sheloah would talk to Sir Erick and her uncle about the plans since Sir Jim was no longer part of the group.

"We're almost there," Veon said and Sheloah nodded.

"Sorry. I think I slept a bit long."

Veon smiled at Sheloah, not minding that she had slept for a few hours. He thought that she had worked her brains out the most that's why he thought that Sheloah needed to rest.

"Hey, why were you smiling while you were asleep? I mean… what're you dreaming about," Veon asked and Sheloah's eyes suddenly widened.

"You were watching me," Sheloah asked as she squinted her eyes at him.

"Duh! You were also snoring," he said and Sheloah's face reddened. She hit Veon's shoulder slightly and puffed, embarrassed. Veon laughed at her. "Seriously, what're you dreaming about?"

"Our memories back in school," she answered honestly as she showed a sad smile. "That will only remain forever as a memory."

Veon's smile also slowly turned into a frown when he heard Sheloah say this. He remembered what he said to her about not going back to the memories they had.

But even then, even if the situation right now is dire, those happy memories…

Still remain.
