Chapter 69:Hey, Veon...

Sheloah now knew the basics on how to use the katana. Geof had taught her what she needed to know.

She was glad to have taught something new when it came to combat. Sheloah promised herself that she will continue to practice and learn on her own.

She stood up and she got her katana. Geof stood as well.

"Do you want to test your might, Sheloah," he asked and Sheloah looked at him.

"No," he declined as he put his hand on her shoulder. "I know you're a fast learner and a good fighter at that, so a better fighting environment would be better. We have training grounds here that would let us kill zombies," he added and this made Sheloah interested.

"You have your own training grounds?" Sheloah really found this amazing.

"Our training grounds is on the main road of this province, near the bridge. There was a car crash there and the aftermath sorta made a barrier warding off zombies, but of course, some could still enter the vicinity," Geof answered and Sheloah's eyes shone in excitement.

"So we get to climb some of those cars, explore the place, and kill zombies whenever we want for training?" Geof found her excitement a little bit off.

"Uh, yeah," he just answered the smiling girl in front of him. "We will just stay at the bridge. Once we go beyond it, it would be too risky. There are already zombies that are unusually strong compared to the usual ones we fought," he added and Sheloah nodded at him.

"Okay. I'll just eat then I'll come back here afterwards for the training. Is it okay," she asked and Geof agreed, keeping both of their katanas in a safe place near the tree.

"Sure. Just bring your gun just in case it gets a little dangerous. Unexpected things may happen like zombies doubling in number and we may not use our katanas," Geof said and Sheloah grinned at him, feeling excited about the training.

"Okay. I'll go back to the hotel. Some people might look for me."

The both of them started walking back to the hotel as they had a light conversation with each other.

Sheloah was excited and nervous about the training. She only knew about the way of the sword just now and she's not too sure if she could fight well with the katana right away. She's expectant to see how she would fight with her new weapon later. People would be so surprised to know that she can fight using another weapon other than the gun!

They had already arrived at the hotel and Sheloah walked straight towards Tyler and the other's hotel room and there she saw Veon, sitting on his armchair, at the veranda. Tyler, Josh, and Isobel were nowhere to be seen.

Sheloah stopped for a moment to look at the time. She was quite surprised to see that it was already 3:23 in the afternoon and she got a feeling that Veon might be angry at her.

She walked to the veranda and sat on the bench beside Veon. He was surprised to see her but the moment his eyes met hers, his gaze suddenly turned cold, making Sheloah nervous.

"Hi," Sheloah greeted him anxiously as Veon continued to glare at her.

She found this unusual. The last time Veon was like this was when Sheloah pranked him by getting his I.D and he got scolded by the school guard harshly. It made Veon angry so he did not talk to Sheloah for one subject even though she returned his I.D to him. Sheloah kept saying sorry but was ignored completely by Veon. When she was about to cry, that was when he talked to Sheloah.

"Veon…"

She was getting his attention but there was still no reply. Sheloah pouted. He is indeed angry at her.

'Was it because I came back late?'

She didn't mean to over-train but because of her excitement and her determination to learn how to fight using the katana, she wasn't aware of the time. She promised Veon that she would return early for lunch, but she obviously broke her promise.

"Hey, Veon… I'm sorry," Sheloah apologized and she heard him sigh.

"What time is it, Sheloah," he asked, his voice cold and Sheloah pouted once more. She didn't want to answer his question because it would make him angrier.

"Veon, please… I'm sorry," she apologized once more and Veon sighed again, showing exasperation.

"Yeah, okay," he said in a monotonous tone which made him sound sarcastic. Sheloah knew he just said okay to shut her up.

Sheloah rolled her eyes at him. "I know it's not okay," she said and he looked at her.

"You said you'd come back here for lunch but what time is it now!? You didn't even eat your lunch!"

Sheloah was suddenly taken aback when Veon raised his voice at her. She didn't expect him to act this way.

'Why is he acting too concerned? He's acting like my boyfriend when he isn't!'

"I just had my training. Come on, Veon… please understand," Sheloah pleaded and Veon just looked at her.

"I can't understand you, Sheloah. Because of the events that had happened since our arrival here, I couldn't just sit down and not worry about you. Even if you're with someone trusted, do you think it will really calm me down? What if you get hurt again? You act rashly nowadays and it worries me the most!"

Sheloah didn't know what to say as she just sat there beside Veon, feeling a little flattered by how worried he was when it came to her.

'He's really angry!'
