Chapter 198:Fallen For You

Sheloah's eyes were wide open in shock as Veon's lips still hadn't left hers. When Sheloah held a fist of Veon's clothes, her hands getting tighter by the second, that's when Veon stopped.

"Isn't this enough answer for you?"

Sheloah went quiet. Her heart was beating fast as Veon looked at her straight in the eyes. She felt her face heat up and she knew she was already blushing. Veon sighed as he rested his face on Sheloah's shoulder, feeling embarrassed.

"It matters to me… because I've already fallen for you."

Veon said this in a whisper and it made Sheloah's heart beat double its pace.

"You mean…"

Sheloah didn't know what to say. Veon embraced her then spoke about his feelings clearer than ever.

"That dream was a wake up call for me. When you were bitten… when you were turning into a zombie… it just broke my heart," he said then he hugged Sheloah tighter than earlier as he remembered the fear he felt whenever he remembered his nightmare.

"Thinking about how you're going to disappear in my life is unbearable. I mean… I've always been thinking that but now it's different. I don't want to lose you, Sheloah."

Veon looked at the girl in his arms, feeling embarrassed. Sheloah felt shy, too… but she stayed still, waiting for Veon to finish speaking.

"I realized that I've been in denial with my feelings towards you. I kept thinking that maybe the feelings I have was because we're close friends but you're different from the others. When Kreiss appeared, when I had the dream… the way I feel about you deepened," he said and Sheloah held her chest, as if her heart was about to jump out.

"Veon, is this really you?"

Sheloah could not believe that she was hearing these from Veon. She confessed her feelings to him but was rejected and now Veon's confessing his feelings to her.

To her, she felt like she's dreaming!

Sheloah held her face then pinched her cheek. "I think I'm dreaming."

Veon shook his head and he gave her a shy smile.

"You're not. Sheloah, are you considering Kreiss' proposal?"

When Veon asked her this, Sheloah looked at him, still not believing what's happening.

Veon sighed then he looked at the girl, shaking her slightly. "You are not, Sheloah."

But the girl still stood in place, looking at him in a daze.

'I can't believe it! I really must be dreaming!'

Veon rolled his eyes at her. He tipped Sheloah's chin up, looked down, and kissed her again as he pulled her in his arms.

Now Sheloah felt sure. She kissed him back, reciprocating his feelings. The moment they stopped, Sheloah buried her face on Veon's chest, hiding her embarrassed, red face.

"I'm not dreaming," she mumbled to herself and Veon chuckled slightly.

"You haven't answered my question. Are you considering Kreiss' proposal?"

Sheloah went quiet for a second, then she shook her head, giving him an answer. But to Veon, he was unsatisfied with her reply.

"Look at me. Tell me your answer."

Sheloah looked at him slowly and their eyes met. Veon's face was red, too. The girl's hand was on his chest so she could definitely feel how fast his heart beat is.

"I…" Sheloah looked away. "I'm not," she mumbled to herself, enough for Veon to hear.

Veon smiled. "Which means?"

Sheloah looked at him shyly. "My heart belongs to you…"

When Veon heard this, he kissed Sheloah's forehead then spoke. "Then when everything ends… you're officially my girlfriend," he said and Sheloah smiled.

"Then I won't be needing this." Sheloah took off the necklace that was given to her by Kreiss then she put it down on the coffee table beside them.

"What if Kreiss asks about it," Veon asked and Sheloah looked at the gem one last time, then sighed.

"I have to tell him that I can't accept something so precious if I'm just going to turn him down," Sheloah answered and Veon nodded then he held her hand.

"Everything's going to get serious later. I will not be there with you for the meantime… so I hope you protect yourself well. Do you understand," the boy said and Sheloah smiled.

"I will."

The two of them left, leaving the gem given by Kreiss behind on the coffee table.
