Chapter 231: The Earth Sector, RADA’s Change

Name:Ascenders Rift Author:ShadowsFinger
Within the Earth Sector of Qeodreona, the humans who came to these new worlds had long since adapted to this very environment's change. Each of the major nations and various powers now had a new kind of power to cement their standing.

Looking about the ruined streets of various areas, one would occasionally come across the sights of evolved animals battling against parties of different humans, each fitted from head to toe with unique fantasy-style equipment and armors.

The battles were somewhat fierce as some cast magic attacks, while others used special skills associated with their weapons to unleash havoc on their foes. Now the world wasn't anything like what it was a few months before the First Calamity's arrival.

At this time, one familiar group of Ascenders had only finished their battles against a monster, its corpse falling onto the ground, crushing a few cars below it.

The party then regrouped while looting the monster, as they started to chat amongst themselves.

"That darn RADA, how can they be like that?" A slender guy with two submachine guns said with an expression of anger.

As she heard his words, a woman in a green mage suit with a wooden staff in her hand shook her head. While sorting out the items, she replied, "Hmph! I knew they weren't trustworthy from the beginning, they first claimed that they would have sent aid when needed, but during the last few Rift Breaks, no one from their so-called Rift Suppression Squad was nowhere present, neither that Zero nor his party members."

The slender guy shook his head and spoke, "It can't be helped, we shouldn't have been relying on them in the first place, it's better we handle the affairs of our world, after all, they're nothing more than an administration group in the very end."

The green-robed female felt his words to make sense, even the party leader being a handsome male with a green hair and a flower tattoo on his forehead, made no complaints.

The female's eyes flashed as she changed the topic, "Hehe, you're right, a lot of pretty strong fellows are starting to show their faces. Still, as leader Reil said before, we don't need to say much about that monstrous Justice Party, but the Scarlet Dancer and those parties from the different nations are strong enough to compare to our little group."

The others nodded, but Reil shook his head and spoke, "Like always, Phera, your always partly correct about a few matters."

"Huh? What do you mean?" Phera said in annoyance.

Reil chuckled as he spoke, "You should know yourself, that mysterious party that went missing, they haven't shown their face in a while, plus the MSS has that RDF unit. I hear that team leader Alan, along with his second in command Angeline, are two of the most powerful Ascenders at this time."

The others remained silent for a while until the slender man cocked his gun spoke, "So what? Tsk, so long as we keep practicing, we won't lose to anyone."

Reil nodded as his eyes shone in a sharp light as he replied, "Haha, Julez, that I can support you with, if I keep praising others, we'll seem like we're nothing in the end. Haha, we of the Clover Squad aren't inferior anyone."

"That's right!" Phera and Julez said in unison with sharp eyes, the mood now became one of sharpness as everyone knew that they could achieve anything in this world so long as they try hard.

Unaware of his presence, a familiar man garbed in black combat suit watched Reil's party on a nearby building away from this scene. He nodded his head while thinking, 'My how times sure are different from back then. In our era, it was only us against the world. I suppose, in some sense, our, no... their sacrifices weren't in vain.'

As the man spoke, his eyes flashed with two individuals that wore raid suits much like his own, but he shook his head, no longer thinking about it.

His eyes hardened as he glared towards a certain direction as he could peer through the distance as he spoke, "Now isn't the time for sappy memories, we have to do our part and protect what they couldn't."

As if someone heard his words, a few familiar individuals in different colored special combat suits appeared by his side as they spoke, "Indeed, for we are..."

When the man heard this, he spoke with them, "Justice!"

The voices sounded from the towering building alerting a few other Ascenders, as they glanced over, they only saw a few individuals garbed in colorful suits that jumped across the sky before vanishing into the distance.

Reil looked at this and nodded his head as he thought, "Always on the lookout..."

Within an unknown building, a dark room, the RADA officials had gathered once more with stern faces.

This time, the one who sat in the central chair was not Fredrick Valentine, but the mysterious masked man known as His Excellency. His eyes glowed in a cold ray from behind his sinister-looking mask as one could feel the rage around his body from his menacing auras.

Suddenly, two lights beamed down from the ceiling before reforming into the figures of Fredrick and Mister One.

The regular RADA Officials such as Falzon, and some unknown alien faces, turned their sights towards the duo as the central officials, Silver, Green Man, and Shadow, watched in silence.

Silver had a hint of worry in her eyes as she stared at Fredrick, but Falzon merely sneered as if he was eager to see today's meeting.

The crimson masked man was in an exceedingly terrible mood; he glared at the duo and spoke, "So, how did it go, Chief Fredrick? Where did my human party go?"

Fredrick showed an indifferent look as he stared directly at him and replied, "I've done a thorough search, but I still couldn't find their traces; it's as if they had vanished from the world. There aren't many who could pull such a feat off, right in front of our noises... not unless..."

As Fredrick spoke to here, he halted his words as he knew he didn't need to say anything more.

As expected, the crimson masked man's eyes glowed even brighter as a terrifying aura permeated the room when he spoke in a dark tone, "Not unless that fellow took measures into his own hands..."

The entire room shook as no one dared to make a sound, knowing just how angry the crimson masked man had gotten. Soon though, the energies faded as what replaced was laughter.

"Hahahahaha!"

After a long while, the laughing stopped as the crimson masked rose and stepped towards the door.

Upon arriving at the door, he halted before spoke once again, "It would appear that we've been betrayed, from this point onwards, we'll be doing things much different, forget about those we can't control as we'll be doing things with our own hands."

When the officials heard this, their eyes shone with sinister lights as they started to cheer. However, Fredrick's face turned dark as this was something he tried his very best to avoid; he clenched his fists tightly as face returned to normal.

As if he couldn't bear it, Fredrick turned to the crimson masked and spoke, "With all due respects, your limits are still in effect, there's no way that any of us will be able to act without punishment."

The crimson masked chuckled at this as he spoke, "Fredrick, oh Fredrick, you seem to be a bit mistaken about how things work, but that's understandable, you're only human after all, though capable, you are not of the Admin Class. Let me say this to ease your burdens; in every system, there is always a workaround. Huhuhu..."

As the crimson masked finished his words, his sinister laugh sounded across the room as his figure vanished.

Green Man, Shadow, and the other officials also faded away into the room's dark, as Silver stared at Fredrick with a hesitant look before she similarly vanished.

Now only Fredrick and Mister One remained, Mister One saw that Fredrick's arm was trembling slightly, but he said nothing, only standing silently at his side.

"Kain... it looks like we've arrived at that checkpoint," Fredrick said in a cold tone.

Kain sighed as he replied, "I understand."

He vanished from the darkroom with a swoosh leaving behind Fredrick, who stood with a lonely back, as he gazed out the windows while thinking, 'The true chaos has just begun...'
