127 I Hear You Are Quite The Charmer

Princess Cyrena didn't get any reply from the intruder, she smiled to herself and continued.

"I thought you wouldn't come but you did."

She turned around and her eyes met with his.

He wasn't wearing any mask, just like when she first met him. His gaze was so intense, she could feel as though his gaze bore through her.

"The question is, why?"

He didn't move from where he stood, he just watched as she circled round him in slow strides.

"I'll answer for you. Could it be ht you were worried Sebastian wouldn't be able to handle them or you were scared for me?"

By now she was face to face with him, the distance between them was but a finger. "Answer me, why are you here?" She demanded.

"To make sure, the business I have with you is finished. You must be happy now that the truth is out and so, I came to congratulate you, Princess."

"Just that?"

"Where you expecting some kind of treat or something?"

"I thought you felt the spark and came to me."

He arched his brows at her in bewilderment. "How the heck did she arrive at such a conclusion?" He thought.

"Nothing of such I assure you. In the future, kindly do not involve us in your activities."

"By us, you mean Sebastian and you? That kid could be so much more not cooked up in your place, selling weapons."

"He is good enough where he is."

She moved in, closing the space between them. "And what about you, are you?"

Before Void knew what was happening, she pressed her lips to his and kissed him. He quickly stopped her and moved backwards.

"What do you think you are doing?"

"What you want of course."

"What I want is nothing to do with you, Princess. Goodbye. Oh! Lest I forget, Sebastian would return the reward to you. We do not need it."

"At the very least, let him keep it, he deserves it, take it as an encouragement."

With one last look at her, he left the way he came.

She sighed, her mind went back to the kiss, her chest rose and fell as her breathing quickened. He was charming, she would give him that, and something about him made her want him.

"It's your turn to run, I'll chase. I know you want it as well, Mr Void. Just you wait."

*****

Lady Lorelei walked down the hall way heading to her chambers; suddenly she stopped and turned her head. The hall way was particularly empty save the guards at the other end. She turned back and continued walking.

She took another bend and walked faster. A shadow jumped down from where it was hiding and followed behind her. When the person got to the bend, he couldn't find her.

He searched frantically but she was nowhere to be found.

"Looking for me?" Lady Lorelei suddenly called out and the person turned.

"What's it going to be? A friend or a foe?"

His lips curved up into a smile as he looked at her. "I come in peace."

"Do you now, what are you here for?"

"I was hoping you knew me already," he replied her.

She squinted her eyes at the figure, trying to recall where she met him.

"Ohh, it is you. The thief."

"Ouch, I've got a name"

"Do you also have a face? I hear you are quite the charmer."

He let out a short sigh and removed his mask, his head was bent down so Lady Lorelei couldn't get a clear view of him till he slowly raised his head, letting her get a glimpse at a time of his dreamy face.

Her eyes widened a little at the sight in front of her, she never expected this. He looked dreamy, very handsome, he didn't have the face of a killer one bit. she quickly comported herself and spoke.

"Your appearance doesn't do justice to your name."

"Disappointed?"

"No, Why do you feel so? If there's anything, I am pleased."

She took the first step and walked closer to him for better inspection. "What can I do for you? You didn't stalk me to let me get a glimpse of your face now, did you?"

"No, I came to say thank you. Thank you for clearing my involvement with Mr Brandon. If not for your spell, we might still have been in there judging and proving the case. Thanks."

"Well I had important matters to discuss with the King, I couldn't let time go to waste for everyone to play chase and run when the answer was right in front."

"Ohh, I see."

"Anyways, now that we are praising, good thinking. I love what you did. That's very noble of you."

"Coming from someone of your caliber, thank you."

"Daring are we? Noble, fierce, strong, bold, dashing, tall... It's no wonder she likes you."

"Who are you talking about?"

"Oh don't play dumb with me. She felt the connection and so did you."

"I have nothing with the princess, there is no connection between us."

"Who said anything about the... Ohh! The Princess, interesting!"

Her lips curved slightly into a smile at the thought of something. She moved past him and continued with her walk.

"Who are you referring to?"

I think our meeting has ended Mr Void, Goodbye."

"But, wait... "

She snapped her fingers and vanished.

"Who is she talking about?" He questioned himself.

Right now he was the only one at this place and if the guards came it wouldn't look good. "Time to go."

~Lady Lorelei's Chambers~

The door clicked open and she walked graciously inside her chambers, the lights were on, illuminating the once dark room.

"Welcome,  Lady Lorelei."

"Ah! If it isn't my dear skilled ward. Thank you my darling."

"How did it go with the King?"

"Smooth." She stepped away from the door and into the bright light. "You'd never guess who came visiting!"

"Who?"

"Hmm... I see why you like him, daring, strong, charming. He is quite the man if you ask me, with his stunning name. Isn't that right Amelia?"

Amelia smiled at Lady Lorelei and got up from her seat to pour herself a cup of water.

"I see, well, what can I say? Happy you've met him."

"You didn't tell me the Princess likes him."

"I didn't think there was any need to." She poured two cups of water and handed one over to Lady Lorelei.

"Thanks," she took the glass from her ward and sipped from it. "Of course there is need to; we can use it to our advantage when the time comes." She raised the glass in air to Amelia and walked over to sit down.

"She was very jealous yesterday night; I could see it in her eyes and for the first time she spoke to me in a very commanding and undermining tone."

"You provoked her perhaps?"

"I did, I sat on him and we were this close to kissing when she came. She called my name and I still leaned in and told him welcome, but he on the other hand didn't let go. I guess that was why she got angry." Her lips spread into a fine smile as she spoke and elegantly sipped her water.

"Be careful with her, but he is a keeper if he's into you."

"Wow, thanks." She walked back to her seat and watched Lady Lorelei stare at her magical orb. Aren't you heading for the Elven forest?"

"Yes, I am. I need to change into something more fitting for the mission."

"Where is Cullen by the way? How is he?"

"Can we not talk about him now?"

"You are still angry at your beloved ward."

"He should be at the training grounds or with that maid."

She spat out sharply, obviously irritated by the thought of her maid.

"Dearest Cullen has made you angry, good. You partly need it on your journey to capture the hybrid. Make her pay for hurting him and killing the others."

"I think you're becoming more ruthless than I am."

"Who can be more ruthless than you My Lady, I'm only learning."

She dropped her glass on the table, stood up from her chair and made her way to Lady Lorelei's shelf. "I need some potions, poisons and your special healing potion."

"Help yourself. Meanwhile, I must get myself ready."

She got up and made her way into her room.

~ELVEN FOREST~

At the borders of the Elven forest, two hundred skilled soldiers stood awaiting orders from their commanders. Aelfdene and Cleon stood in front as they scanned the forest ahead.

"No time to waste, we know the mission, clear and simple. We are to escort the princess back to the palace."

"You mean to say, aid her in her journey to find the hybrid, Aelfdene."

"No, bring her back that is what His Majesty wants."
