142 The Unexpected Visitor

-------------

~HUMAN KINGDOM – Lorelei's Chambers~

Knock!

Her eyes shot open at the sound of a hand hitting her door.

"An unexpected visitor? Who could it be this time? Did Bayard send for me?"

KNOCK! KNOCK!

The knock came in louder than before this time, disturbing what little rest she had hoped to have.

"Urrghh!" Lorelei groaned at the headache the knock was causing.

"This had better be good or I would turn someone into a squirming worm."

With the support from her arm, she managed to push her upper body up, rumpling the sheets as she did. She half sat, her hands moved of their own accord and brushed her messy curls before getting up to see what little devil decided to pumm el down her door. The moment she arrived at the door, she reached for the door knob and paused when her fingers got half way to their destination.

She didn't know why she felt this way. Something in her gut told her she may not like what or who was behind that door. Nevertheless, she let go after some seconds and held the door knob, pulling it with her as the door opened, revealing her visitor.

To say the least, she was shocked at the appearance of the one at her door.

The woman in front of her was who she least expected to see and in person at that. Her mouth hung slightly ajar, but she quickly closed it before pressing forth a small smile.

Finally, there came a day when this person needed her help.

Time seemed to pass by slowly as both of them stared at each other none uttering a word to the other.

Each of them having a fire in their eyes that screamed determination, ambition, fierceness and above all ruthless.

They hadn't wrong each other, but they refused to agree with each other even though they possessed similar attributes.

"Lorelei." The Lady spoke first.

"Erwina," Lorelei replied, calling her name like she did hers.

"Aren't you going to invite me in?" she asked. Her lips forming a half chuckle as she held the gaze of the tall lady in front of her.

They were almost the same height, but Lady Lorelei was taller with a few inches or two.

"It depends."

"On?"

"What you are here for?"

"It is important."

"Not important as me almost turning you into a worm for rudely knocking on my door nonstop."

Lady Erwina smiled at her remark, always the same, she never changed.

She stepped away from the door after some seconds, giving Lady Erwina access into her chambers. Not waiting another second, Lady Erwina walked in with Lorelei following close behind a she shut the door behind them.

Lorelei's eyes scanned the shorter woman from head to toe as she took in her outfit. She wore a green body fitted off shoulder long gown that accentuated all her curves in the right places, with jewelries adorning her hair, neck and wrists.

Erwina never failed to impress and dress to show off her status as the King's official concubine.

"If you done staring let me know."

"If you are done being full of you, speak or leave."

She took in a deep breath then turned to look at Lorelei. "Let's put our differences aside for a moment and hear me out."

"Go on."

Her lips curved up into a side smile at Lorelei's lack of interest. She knew what she was going to tell her would soon change her interest "I have a preposition that I think you may like."

*******

Everywhere in the kingdom buzzed as though nothing happened. By now everyone was well aware of what Mr Brandon's crimes, as well as his punishment, were.

On one of the lanes of the kingdom's main street, was a lonely house a lonely hose down the alley. A figure dressed in all black stood at the roof of one of the houses close by. The person gazed at this house for a long time, before turning to leave.

"So you only came to stare at my house?" A voice said behind the black figure.

His voice was carried clear with the cool evening breeze to the other figure.

The person didn't say anything and made to jump. He caught the person and spun around, holding the figure close to his chest.

Peering deep into the masked face of the person, he smiled. "How did you find me?"

"It wasn't that hard really." Her unique feminine voice resounded as she spoke, like a sweet melody to his ears.

"Why are you really here? Don't tell me it is to admire my lonely abode?"

"Yes."

"Lies."

"Then what do you think it is the reason?"

By now their bodies were pressed close to each other, as he held her tight, not giving her any room for escape. He smirked and brought his face closer to hers, his lips moving in close with him.

Her mask covered the upper part of her face, leaving her nose and lips exposed. When he got close, he smiled against her lips and moved to her ear instead.

"I think you and I know the reason." He withdrew from her ear, but not before lightly biting her ear lobe as a payback for what she did before.

"Then what are you waiting for, an invitation?"

"Perhaps."

Before she could speak further, he crashed his lips on hers, tasting, sucking and feeling the softness of her lips. She parted her lips for him and welcomed his warm tongue into her mouth.

He tasted like grape and lemon at the same time, a simple blend of sweet and sour. She kissed him back, letting her tongue dance with his as their mouth intertwine in a hot frenzy kiss.

He kissed her with so much intensity and passion, as their tongue fought for dominance. Mischievously, he snaked his hand behind her and gently pressed her her butt cheeks.

She wasn't expecting him to do that and didn't know when she let out a small moan.

Jackpot!

She was shocked herself and that brief moment of surprise gave him the victory he wanted. Finally he captured her tongue with his and kissed her with a much more intensity she never thought was even possible, igniting a flame within her.

Just from his kiss, she felt lightheaded as her body felt giddily all over.

She was lost in his kiss, she lost to him. Who really was this man? Amelia finally met her match.

Little did they know that the simple kiss they shared was going to ignite a spark and in turn bring more troubles than any of them had ever imagined.
