Chapter 24 - Captain Marvel

It had been five whole years since the Mandarin fiasco and the city was recovering. Some might have argued that the city had gotten better and some might sat it got worse.

The NYPD had taken down the bounty on the batman and have refused to give a statement causing many to believe the whole thing was some sort of stunt pulled by the NYPD to enforce the massive crackdown and that there was no such thing as the batman altho some eyewitness begged to differ.

The event though had left a vacuum within New Yorks underworld with criminals popping out of everywhere to try and gain control but Batman was here.

Jeffrey had learnt a lot after going against the Mandarin and knew if he had to go against the big purple bastard in the future his skills were not going to cut it and so he improve he learnt psychology, escape arts, mastered yoga improved on his acrobatics, became a master gymnast and mastered over 37 martial arts and became a master of a variety of weapons and had also improved his knowledge on various scientific disciplines rather than relying on his knowledge from his past life.

He was now getting closer and closer to the actual batman but it still wasn't enough... "I think you have done enough for today sir." Sebastian came in holding a towel with a bottle of water as Jeffery was on the salmon ladder. Jeff took a glance at him before dropping back to the ground, "thank you Sebastian" "it's my pŀėȧsurė sir, but I do think you could take a rest everyonce in a while." "Crime never rests so neither do I"

*Beep*Beep* an alarm went off just as Jeff spoke drawing their attention to the pc. They went over to see what was happening, a video popped up on screen of a woman in some sort of blue-green outfit fighting an old lady atop a train and then blowing up a tunnel with some sort of energy beam from her hands.

It took a moment but Jeff remembered who this was she was none other Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel. " I've got to go."

At Maria's home.

Carol and Nick were infront of the alien and were still negotiating when he jumped back from seeing Goose "oh my god, get that thing away from me."

"what this don't tell me your afraid of a cat now are you" Nick mocked him when he saw who was behind him so did Carol along with Maria as Monica entered and saw the figure she shouted " oh my god! it's Batman! " as she said that the Skrull turned around and had the fright of his life as Batman walked out of the shadows. Nick could only utter three words after seeing him "no f**king way!"

"You all have some explaining to do." Batman spoke in his inhumaly deep voice leaving everyone who saw him stunned. Maria was wonder just what was going on to have these guys keep popping up in her house, Carol was just confused as to who this guy was, how she didn't notice him and more importantly how long had he been here.

"Who are you?" Carol finally asked the question that was in her mind breaking the silence and drawing everyone's attention towards herself " what do you mean who is he, he is the mothereffing Batman." "the who now?" Carol look at Nick who was genuinely shocked by her ignorance before it hit him that she was offworld for the past few years.

Nick began to explain some of the bats exploits whilst Maria kept staring at the dark night himself, "I always thought you were nothing more than an urban myth a story made up by the NYPD to scare criminals but..." Maria kept looking at him her shock still clear in her eyes.

Batman grabbed the skrull who was still on the ground raising him to eye level and with one bat glare he began to spill everything leaving Carol shocked once more and even more curious as to who the Batman truly was.

After Maria had played the recording everyone was now on the same page and Bats had finally remembered the entire plot including some minor details he had forgotten. They were now all in the backyard and he had decided he was going with them, " if there are aliens coming, well then I'm coming with you. " Bats turned to Carol or should he say Captain Marvel whose suit had now taken on the iconic colour scheme

Carol gave a smile and nod at the batman, she didn't know him all that well but from what she heard she knew she could use his help, turning to the others "let's go."
