Chapter 61 - Bonfire Night

Eve's car pulled up before King's Manor where Sebastian stood waiting for her.

"Nice to see you Eve", Sebastian spoke up as she stepped out of the vehicle. "You owe me a club", was Eve's clever response.

"so what's the plan?" Eve questioned as they made their way into the Manor. "We can no longer take things slowly, now we have no chance but to engage them in a head to head battle."

"Okay, so where do I fit in?" Sebastian came to a halt at that. "I have some safe houses whe-" "No!" Eve cut Sebastian off, "You don't get to sideline me, Chris just tried to kill me and destroyed my club. So I'm not leaving until Chris and the rest of those bastards are six feet under."

Sebastian wanted to argue, "let her fight" but a voice resounded drawing their attention. As they turned to the source, they saw Jeff walking down the stairs.

"Jeffery King, an honor" Jeff soon stood right before Eve and stared her in the eye, "Eve Monroe".

"okay sir, then-" *boom* an explosion cut Sebastian off and sent the three of them to the floor.

They began to struggle to their feet, "we are surrounded." Jeff spoke up as the soldiers of the court began to march into the Manor.

Sebastian pressed on a part of the wall causing it to move and reveal a whole slew of weapons.

"Woah" Eve's eyes widened as she saw all the weapons on display.

Sebastian grabbed twin blades and passed then over to Jeff and then passed an ȧssault rifle to Eve before taking a shotgun.

The nodded at one another before going their separate ways.

Jeff soon came before four people who didn't hesitate to pull the trigger. Ducking and rolling he managed to avoid the gun shots and got into their midst.

Slicing at one of their legs one was sent straight down, Jeff spun quickly moving behind on the men and using him as a shield against the others.

Jeff pushed his human shield into one of them, before moving before the other and slicing their throat.

Rapid punches where then delivered to the soldiers guts before Jeff snapped their neck.

With Sebastian bang after bang was heard as the members of the court were blasted by Sebastian's shotgun.

Sebastian ducked behind a pillar avoiding a spray of bullets from soldiers who marched in.

*ting*ting*ting* Sebastian looked down to his side to see a grenade rolling over. He jumped away immediately to avoid the blast which was only seconds later.

Using his shotgun, Sebastian bashed one man in and grabbed his weapon and fired at the others.

*Bang* a gunshot resounded behind Sebastian, looking behind, he was in time to see a soldier of the court falling with Eve standing there with a pistol at hand.

"you're welcome." Eve smirked.

The battle continued, getting more intense with each passing minute. All three of them Eve, Sebastian and Jeff had gathered in an office.

Jeff kicked one more soldier away before locking themselves in. "So now what?" Eve questioned the others, both Eve and Sebastian turned to Jeff whose clothes were damaged but was otherwise unharmed.

"We retreat, I have this sinking feeling that if we don't get out soon, we might never be able to" Jeff spoke up.

Sebastian nodded before pulling a book revealing a secret tunnel, "Just how many tunnels do you guys have in this place?" Sebastian smirked before they run through the tunnel.

Halfway through their retreat a loud boom was heard followed by massive tremor. "what the hell was that?!" Eve questioned as she looked behind.

They came up from another exit and looked to the source. Where the Manor once stood was now nothing more than flaming ruins, seeing this Jeff could not help but remember that night.

"sir, are you okay?" "yeah Sebastian, let's head to the Batcave. The court will pay for this." There was a solemn silence after that for a minute or two before Eve spoke up.

"You guys have a cave?"

With Pepper Potts.

Pepper was doing the task that Tony had ȧssigned to her.

She begins to discover some digital trails and soon discovered something more terrifying. The ten rings didn't plan on kidnapping Tony, rather it was an impromptu descison.

Stane wanted to kill Tony, "oh my God, Tony."

At this time Obadiah realized something important as well, his scientist were too dumb and couldn't duplicate Stark's reactor.

That left Him with one option, getting it from Stark himself.
