"Kai Xin! Kai Xin!" Kai An whispered at his sister.
When she heard someone calling for her, she blinked and quickly got out of her thoughts.
Looking at Kai An, she asked, "What?"
"Nai Nai is asking you about your boyfriend's occupation."
Turning to Grandma Zhen, Kai Xin respectfully answered, "He's a businessman."
"He sounds old," said Grandma Zhen.
Hearing her grandmother's first opinion of him, Kai Xin chuckled, "Is he? I supposed he does have a deeper set of voice."
"How old is he?" asked Mr. Zhen.
Kai An raised a brow curiously when he heard his father. It was rare for him to take an initiative to ask about Kai Xin's life.
Without any intention to mince words, Kai Xin answered truthfully, "40. Well, he just had his birthday, so he's 41 now."
"What?!"
Everyone except from Kai An who knew gasped. Mr. Zhen even dropped his chopsticks when he heard.
"Why are you dating such an old man, Kai Xin?" asked An Xin with a worried voice. She looked briefly at Thomas before looking back at Kai Xin,
"If you need money, you could have just told us. I have some savings left, and I'm sure Daddy would help you out if money is tight."
Mr. Zhen had merely thought that Kai An was silly and doing it to spite him but with An Xin's words, he cannot help but to think negatively of Kai Xin.
"Zhen Kai Xin! How can you sell yourself to a man just for money? Is that what you learned in that school of yours!"
Kai An tried to defend his sister, "Dad, that's not like it..."
Turning to Grandma Zhen, he continued, "...He came over and asked Mum for permission to date Kai Xin. It wasn't like what An Xin thought."
Mr. Zhen bang the table and snapped, "What is wrong with your mother?!"
Grandma Zhen sighed, "Zhen Shao Bang, are you doing this in front of me again?"
Mr. Zhen toned down his voice as he turned to speak to his mother, "Mother, I did not raised her just so that she can sell her body to a man!"
Angered that he dragged her mother into this, Kai Xin snapped, "Don't you dare talk about my mother!"
With a cold voice that was on par with DX, she continued, "...And you have never raised me, Mr. Zhen. Don't think too highly of yourself."
"Kai Xin…"
Grandma Zhen sighed when the father and daughter started fighting again.
Even thought the two rarely met, but everytime they do, they ended up arguing.
In a soft voice, Grandma Zhen pleaded, "Don't talk to your father like that...Please..."
Kai Xin had wanted to talk more with her grandmother but it looked like she would have to do this on another date.
With a bow, she apologized, "I'm sorry, Nai Nai. I'm really glad to see you but I have to go. I will see you again before you leave."
After she handed Grandma Zhen the bags of souvenirs that DX prepared, she gave her a kiss on the cheek.
Looking at Kai An, she said, "Take care of Nai Nai. If she wants anything, just buy it for her. Everything is on me."
Without waiting for him to answer, she rushed out of the room.
