Chapter 254 - You are not getting out of this!

The moment he opened the door room, he felt a warm tingling sensation in his chest when he saw her sitting on the bed.

It was the same feeling that he first felt that many years ago when he saw her came out from the collapsed building with Lyle in her arms. Even though she was covered in mud, and even though he was filled with angry, he swore that there was no one who was more beautiful than her.

The only difference between now and then was that he was no longer afraid nor was he a stranger to his own feeling.

He kept staring at her from where he was standing. The expression on her face was one of contentment and relief as she rested her hand on her belly while she talked to the baby.

She was so engrossed in the one-sided conversation that she failed to notice that he was inside the room.

"My baby...You know...You have an older brother...No, you have three older brothers...In 5 months, you will see your twin brothers Lyle and Jack...They are your half brothers but I'm sure they would love you just the same...But you have another one..."

She hesitated for a second and her voice trembled slightly as she continued, "He doesn't have an English name...His name is Zi Han and he is your eldest brother...Mummy was afraid of him and I hurt him..."

As he listened on to the conversation, DX thought about Dr. Phillip's warning.

He knew that Kai Xin was unable to step out of her guilt. Her guilt was so deeply embedded that he was going to need everyone's help to get her out of it.

Leaning over, she whispered at her belly, "But I won't do the same thing to you...So don't be afraid of me, ok? Promise me that you will come out safely, alright?"

"She would be fine..." said DX as he went forward to sit by her side.

Wrapping her up in his embrace, he rubbed her back gently as he reassured her, "Don't worry too much about it. She's our daughter, so naturally, she would be a strong baby..."

When she looked up at him, he held her hand before he continued, "...and when she's old enough, we will let her know about Zi Han...After all, he is my son as well..."

Hearing him said that Zi Han was his son made her happy. As she leaned against him, she bit him lightly on the shoulder before teasing him, "You won. The baby is really a girl..."

"Of course. I always get what I want...Let's go back to our room...It's much more comfortable there... " said DX before he carried her up in his arms.

That was when he finally saw her bandaged foot. In his excitement earlier, he had forgotten about it.

"Your foot...How is it? Should I call Phillip to come back?"

Kai Xin noticed the change of expression on his face and she reached up to pat his cheek. With a smile, she quickly reassured him, "I'm fine...He took a look at it earlier and said that they are superficial and won't leave any scars..."

Even if she said that she was fine, he still blamed himself for not noticing it.

When they arrived, he placed her down gently on the bed in his bedroom.

Pouting, she asked, "Is this a prelude to my life in the next five months? Am I not even allowed to walk on my own feet?"

With a grin, he replied her with a cheeky question, "What do you think?"

"Please tell me that you are joking, otherwise I'm going to be so bored out of my mind!" groaned Kai Xin as she rolled around on the bed.

She knew what he was thinking about and she had no intention of letting him caged her up like a bird.

When DX pretended not to hear her, she scowled at him. However, he continued to pretend not to notice it as he slowly unbuttoned his clothes.

Since he was in the ward with Song Qiao earlier, he wanted to get rid of the hospital smell that clung onto his clothes. When he took off his shirt, she purred at the sight of his toned physique.

"I must be the luckiest woman to be able to score with a 41 year old man with a hot bod like that..." thought Kai Xin gleefully.

As he stripped down to his brief, she asked playfully, "DX...With everything that happened yesterday, I forgot about something..."

"What?"

In a low seductive tone, she added, "You are supposed to perform your husbandly duty..."

When he heard her, he gulped. Of course, on a normal day, he would have taken her in a heartbeat.

However, after the talk with Dr. Phillip, he was afraid that even at his gentlest mode, he might still be too rough. After all, he had never done it with a pregnant woman before.

Admittedly, he studied a little on what they could do during the pregnancy when he was taking breaks last night.

However, he felt that he needed to study more before he performed his 'husbandly duty'.

Trying to keep her mind out of it, he replied quickly, "Let's take a bath first...I'll prepare the water..."

Before she could say anything else, he grabbed his phone and ran into the bathroom.

Kai Xin giggled before saying loudly, "You are not getting out of this! Dr. Phillip said you need to feed me well!"

With his back against the door, he replied loudly, "I'm pretty sure he meant it in a different way!"

Setting the temperature of the bath lower than what they were used to, he started to do some research and read on the materials that Dr. Phillip sent him while waiting for the bathtub to fill up.

As she listened to the sound of the water running, Kai Xin could not help but chuckle at the thought of him sitting on the toilet while he browsed through the internet.

"That guy is going to be an expert on pregnancy s*ex soon..."
