Chapter 264 - You can'st be hiding every day

Name:Be My Strength Author:LuoYeYouLing
The reporters that were hounding the hospital for Jane finally left after 9 p.m. Once her colleagues came in to inform her, Jane sighed in relief before thanking him.

"You can't be hiding every day," said her colleague, Sam, as they walked to the cafeteria.

He was about to leave when Jane said that she would buy him coffee as thanks.

Since Jane was unable to work during the day, the supervisor allowed her to exchange shifts with her colleague.

So, she spent the day catching up on her sleep in the small bedroom that the hospital provided for the first year residents who basically spent most of their time in the hospital.

"I'm sure it would die down after a couple of days. Anyway, thanks for covering up for me," said Jane as she stretched her shoulders.

When they entered the lift, she pulled up her mask. In the event some of the reporters were around, they would not be able to recognize her easily.

She wondered how Kai Xin was doing and if she had found out the gender of the baby.

Sam grinned, "No problem. Thanks for taking over the night shift."

No one liked the night shift. Night shifts at their hospital were three hours longer than the day shifts.

When they arrived at the cafeteria, Jane saw someone familiar sitting there drinking from a can of coffee. On the table, there were four cans of coffee.

From the way the cans were crushed, she could tell that it was empty.

"That idiot... He shouldn't be drinking so much coffee..." murmured Jane before she turned her body around so that she was facing away from him.

It was Mo Shaoyun. When he saw her, he stood up immediately. Even though she was wearing a mask, he recognized her immediately.

However, he hesitated because he was unsure of whether she would talk to him.

"Hey, isn't that your boyfriend? I haven't seen him around lately," said Sam. He wanted to go and say hello but Jane pulled him back.

When he gave her a curious look, she admitted, "We broke up a while back."

She did not bother to tell anyone at work because she did not think that it was their business to know.

Shocked by the revelation, Sam stuttered, "Oh...Erm, well..."

Everyone at the hospital had heard of Mo Shaoyun. When Jane was still a resident, he would personally send her meals and flowers almost everyday.

In fact, for a short period of time, the female residents were jealous of Jane and they picked on her because of that.

Sam looked at Mo Shaoyun and waved awkwardly at him before muttering to Jane, "He looks like he wants to talk to you. I'll go get us the drinks. Go and talk to him..."

As she watched Sam ran off, Jane sighed and muttered under her breath, "Coward..."

Having worked with the man for a few years, she knew that Sam hated getting involved in any kind of confrontation between lovers...or ex-lovers.

She dragged her feet over to Mo Shaoyun unwillingly and she made sure that he knew about it by saying begrudgingly, "What do you want?"

Even though she was acting dismissively towards him, Mo Shaoyun was happy to see her. After the scene at the hospital, he was too embarrassed to see her.

Everytime he thought about looking for her to explain everything, he had to hold himself back and he kept reminding himself of the pain that he caused her.

However, when he watched the news this morning and saw that the reporters were outside her hospital, he was worried about her safety.

Those reporters were like hound dogs. Once they found you, they would not let you leave.

He had been waiting in the cafeteria since the afternoon with the hope that he would be able to see her.

With a smile, he asked, "Have you been well lately?"

"Yeah, no thanks to you," said Jane as she pretended to look at the people behind him. Glancing at her watch, she said impatiently, "If there's nothing important -"

"I just want to know if you are alright..." said Mo Shaoyun quickly. When Jane frowned at him, he added, "I saw the news and I was afraid that the reporters might bother you."

"I don't think that is your problem, Young Master Mo. We broke up, remember? Why don't you go back and protect that fiancee of yours?" said Jane tersely before she walked off to join Sam at the vending machines area.

Mo Shaoyun smiled as he watched her walking away from him.

Even though it hurt, he was glad that she lived well after what he made her went through. He was worried that she might be unable to move on because of him.

As he watched her talked to Sam, he smiled wryly as he thought, "I deserve that...I hope you would be happy, Jane..."

Before he turned to leave, he gave her one last look as he murmured, "I love you."
