However, with his mind preoccupied, he did not hear her calling out for him as he walked past her. Like a scorned woman, Song Qiao's expression changed immediately.

DX drove all the way to Hospital W. Ignoring all the cars behind him, he parked his car right in front of the main door and tossed the key to a staff of the hospital before running all the way into the lift. When he arrived on the presidential floor, he asked the guards who directed him over to Kai Xin's ward.

When he reached outside her ward, everyone else was sitting there as they waited for Dr. Phillip to come out. The moment they saw him, everyone except An Qi Yan stood up at once.

"How is she?" asked DX nervously as he looked at the door. He wanted to rush in but Layla stopped him at the door.

"She's fine. Phillip is still inside checking on her," replied Callum. He had arrived at the hospital not long before DX's arrival.

"What happened?" asked DX as he loosened his tie.

Layla exchanged glances with An Qi Yan before she told him everything.

DX clenched his fist and snapped at Callum, "I want the identity of the person who sent those bloody messages! I don't care how you are going to do it! I want the bastard to pay! Whoever he was, he knew that my mother would react badly to it!"

Callum nodded. He felt bad for that person for DX would not stop with just him alone. DX was a vengeful person and he would attack everyone that was connected to the wrongdoing instead of just the mastermind alone.

Dr. Phillip came out not long after and when he saw DX, he closed the door behind him.

"We need to talk," said Dr. Phillip.

"What's wrong with Kai Xin? Is everything alright with her?" asked DX as he looked at him worriedly.

"Didn't I tell you not to stress her out?" scolded Dr. Phillip as he looked at her chart.

"It's my fault...I should have been there for her, but how is she? How's the...baby?"

Seeing the worried expression on DX's face, Dr. Phillip was unable to mess around with her.

With a chuckle, he said, "They are both fine. It's just a bad case of indigestion from eating too much...and coupled with the fact that she worries too much...and when your mother...Anyway, she's not in a serious condition...I could release her now but I'm sure you'd want her to be under observation for now?"

The last sentence was a question posed to DX as Dr. Phillip was not sure what his friend wanted. Kai Xin appeared to be uncomfortable with the idea of staying overnight when he talked to her earlier.

The rest of them sighed in relief when they heard Dr. Phillip's diagnosis.

"Thank God..." said An Qi Yan. She had been so worried about her daughter earlier when she saw that she was in pain. If it was before the pregnancy, she would not have worried as much as now. Since she knew that her daughter was pregnant, she was too afraid to take any chance with it.

DX turned to look at the door of the ward, "I'll check with her. Can I go in now?"

"Yeah, but she has just fallen asleep…Just let her sleep for now," replied Dr. Phillip.

DX nodded and thanked him before he entered the room.

"Mum?" asked Kai An as he was not sure if this would be the right time for him to enter. He stood outside the door as he watched his future brother-in-law stood next to his sister's bed.

"Let him be. Since there's nothing for us to do here, we will go home first. I need to cook for that little idiot..." said An Qi Yan and the rest agreed with her.

After taking another glance at his sister, Kai An shrugged and closed the door quietly. His mother was right. It was unlikely that they could do anything for her now and Kai Xin probably wanted to spend the time alone with DX.

DX stood by her bedside as he watched her sleeping face. As if she was bothered by the few strands of hair that was on her face, she kept trying to brush at them in her sleep.

DX reached out and gently pushed the hair away. As he did that, he wondered, "Why can't people understand that you are special to me?"

With a sigh, he pulled up a chair and sat by her side to watch over her while she continued to sleep.
