Chapter 372 - I was bored

As per usual, Dr. Phillip was at the Du Mansion to do a checkup on Kai Xin. Once he was done checking the development of Little Monkey, he wiped the gel off Kai Xin's belly and said, "She's growing well and she's a pretty active baby."

He smiled and asked her, "In less than 2 months, you are going to be a mother. Are you excited about it?"

She smiled as she placed her shirt down to cover her bulging belly, "Yeah…"

Kai Xin glanced at DX who was standing behind Dr. Phillip and thought, "Yeah, I'm excited about it."

She found a man that she could love and fortunately, he was absolutely crazy about her. She had two great sons and now, she was about to give birth to the baby that she conceived with her favorite man in the world… Obviously, she would be excited about it. No. She was more ecstatic than anything else.

"I want photos," said DX as he glanced at the sonogram machine. They had created an album for Little Monkey's development and DX wanted to record everything so that he could talk to his daughter about it in the future.

Dr. Phillip rolled his eyes as he replied, "You don't have to remind me every single time. You know, you're behaving like an old grandma."

DX ignored his comments and continued, "Since you're here, do a health checkup for my mother-in-law and Sima Erden as well. I don't think they have been to any health checkup before."

Kai Xin agreed. Her mother tended to avoid going for checkups. An Qi Yan was anxious over her children's health but tended to forget about her own health.

As Dr. Phillip stood up, he grumbled, "Do I look like the kind of doctor who does health checkups for everyone?"

No matter what, Dr. Phillip was at the top of his profession and normally, he would not move for just about anyone. He worked according to his mood and if he was lazy, he would not even attend to the President of the country.

However, when DX raised an eyebrow at him threateningly, Dr. Phillip immediately said, "Fine. For you, I'll do it."

However, in his heart, he was grumbling about how he had to give up his Saturday for DX. He was going to fly to Spain for a week but DX called him back.

Unfortunately, he was afraid of DX and that was why he could not do anything. Without Layla's protection, Dr. Phillip could not do anything against DX.

As if he knew what Dr. Phillip was thinking about, DX sighed, "I'll forget the debts that your little niece and nephew caused."

Normally, he would not hesitate to bully Dr. Phillip. However, he felt that in front of Kai Xin and his unborn daughter, he had to show them that he was a kind man and a generous father.

"Really? Great! I'll do health checkup for everyone that you want!" said Dr. Phillip happily. He still owed DX about $1.5 million dollars for the things that the two kids broke. Even though he was paid ridiculously well for his job, he preferred to spend the money on better things, like buying new toys for the kids and bringing them overseas.

After his parents cut off the monetary support, Dr. Phillip had to pay for everything himself and he hated it. His lavish lifestyle ate up a lot of his money and with the debt, he barely had enough to spend at the end of the month.

DX called a maid and told her to bring Dr. Phillip over to the general examination room. After that, she should inform An Qi Yan and Sima Erden.

The maid nodded and she left with Dr. Phillip.

Not long after they left, one of the butlers came and told DX that Han Ye had just arrived. DX nodded and told the butler to bring Han Ye to the living room and that he would be meeting him there shortly.

"What is he doing here? I thought he's on a holiday?" asked Kai Xin as they walked to the living room.

"Han Ye's version of a holiday is to stay at home and gain weight."

Kai Xin looked at her husband with a curious glance. However, when she saw Han Ye, she realized that her husband was right.

It had only been slightly more than a week since she last saw him, but Han Ye looked as if he had gained 5 pounds.

"Han Ye! What happened to you?" asked Kai Xin as she looked at him up and down.

Han Ye looked at her. He was confused by her question.

"She's asking why are you so fat," said DX dryly as he brought Kai Xin to the couch.

Han Ye had a horrified look on his face as he exclaimed, "I'm not fat!"

He sat down on the couch opposite DX and Kai Xin as he continued to frown, "Besides, Madam President Du, I'm already considered thin compared to the last time President Du forced me to take a vacation."

"Forced?" asked Kai Xin.

She then glanced at DX who promptly explained it to her, "He screwed up on a big project so I forced him to take a vacation."

"Without pay, President Du! Without PAY!" said Han Ye in an anguished tone. Back then, he was so scared that he would lose the job that he kept eating and eating. DX ignored his calls and messages. By the end of the two weeks, he had put on almost 20 pounds.

As he glanced at Kai Xin, he sighed, "I really thought that would be the end of my career."

"DX, how could you? It was just a mistake," said Kai Xin as she shook her head at him.

DX shrugged, "I was bored. That was before I met you. Back then, there's nothing much for me to mess with. He was there and honestly, he's pretty fun to mess around with."

When he heard DX, Han Ye gave him an are-you-kidding look. He then grumbled in his heart, "Damn it! My mental state is not something for you to mess around with!"

"Anyway, what are you doing here, Han Ye?" asked Kai Xin as she tried to change the subject.
