93 No more fighting

"Are you alright?"

Ren Xiaozhi raised her face that was filled with tears towards the person who approached her.

It was a high school girl who stood near her. She was filled with awe when she saw how beautiful Ren Xiaozhi was but when she saw that beautiful was filled with tears, she was suddenly filled with worry.

"Are you perhaps... lost?"

Ren Xiaozhi ignored her and buried her face on her knees again as she continued on crying.

The high school girl panicked. She looked around as if to look for anyone who was searching for her. When she saw no one, she turned back to the little girl.

She took out candy from her skirt's pocket before she reached it out to her.

"Don't cry, here, have a candy." The girl said, trying to comfort the little girl by giving her the candy.

Ren Xiaozhi turned to her once again and looked at the candy that was on the girl's palm.

"M-mommy said that... that I shouldn't accept anything from strangers." She sniffed, trying to stop herself from crying.

"Do I look like a bad person?"

Ren Xiaozhi stared at her. The student in front of her looked more like a nerd because of her glasses. She has soft features and she just looked average.

The little girl shook her head, "No..."

"Here." She gave her the candy. "My name is Chen Jue, what's your name?"

"Zhizhi..." She unwrapped the candy and put it in her mouth. The sweetness and flavor of the candy were one of her favorites. To be the exact, strawberry flavor.

"Thank you, Jiejie!"

Chen Jue finally smiled upon seeing that she stopped crying. She reached out and wiped her tears with her handkerchief.

Ren Xiaozhi didn't push her way since she was being friendly.

"Anyway, did you get separated from your parents?" Chen Jue inquired.

Ren Xiaozhi nodded a bit. Indeed, she got separated from them when she ran away. She was still a bit hesitant about returning back to her parents. She didn't want to see them fighting after all.

"Where was the last time you saw them?"

"Amusement park..."

"They might still be looking for you there. Come, I'll accompany you back."

After looking at the surveillance cameras, Nian Jiezhen was only able to see her daughter ran out of the park.n And so, she messaged Ren Shiyuan to meet her by the entrance.

Upon their arrival, they were able to see their father, being brought back by a student.

"Mommy! Daddy!" Ren Xiaozhi released Chen Jue's hand and went running towards her parents.

"Xiaozhi!" Nian Jiezhen was filled with relief when she saw her. She even rushed to her and bent down to catch her in her arms.

Ren Xiaozhi cried as she hugged her mother, "Mommy!"

Ren Shiyuan went to their side and was relieved as well. He turned to Chen Jue and smiled, "Thank you for bringing her back to us."

Chen Jue was starting in surprise when she saw how beautiful Ren Xiaozhi's parents were. No wonder... No wonder the child was pretty as well!

Nian Jiezhen turned to the student while she was carrying her child in her arms, "Thank you. How can we repay you?"

"It's alright, I am happy to help."

Ren Shiyuan smiled. He took his wallet from his pocket and handed her his business card, "Please take this."

Ren Shiyuan? Chen Jue was staring at the business card after accepting it

Why does his name sound familiar? She was sure that she heard it somewhere...

Instead of thinking of that. She remembered that she was on her way to meeting a friend, "Um... I should get going. I still have to meet someone..."

"Take care on your way."

Chen Jue turned to Ren Xiaozhi and smiled, "Goodbye."

"Thank you, Jiejie! Take care!" Little Xiaozhi waved goodbye at her.

While Ren Shiyuan was driving the car, Nian Jiezhen was sitting at the back, watching their daughter sleep, her head resting on her lap. She was also hugging the teddy bear that Ren Shiyuan won for her earlier.

"I'm sorry about earlier." Nian Jiezhen said softly. "You're right... I should have told you..."

It's not like Ren Shiyuan could stay angry at his wife for a long time. His anger faded earlier while they looking for their daughter.

"It's alright... Just don't do it next time. You should let me know what's happening to our daughter while I'm away."

"I will..."

"By the way, have you already decided on the date for our wedding?"

Even years have already passed and they were still not able to have their wedding.

At first, they decided to have it after Nian Jiezhen gave birth but taking care of the baby occupied their time. Nian Jiezhen took care of their daughter for two years before she decided kn working again.

During this time, Ren Shiyuan became busy with the company he was handling.

Because of their work, they had barely enough time for each other.

They never talked about having their wedding for years... Except for last week when Jing Wanru finally asked them about it.

"Next month, let's have our wedding next month. I have already started looking for a venue."

"I'll help you with it."

He pulled over upon reaching their place.

Nian Jiezhen woke her daughter up and went into the house with her.

Ren Xiaozhi looked at her parents as if wanting to make sure that they were not fighting anymore.

She reached out and held her father's hand, "Daddy, don't be mad to mommy, okay?"

Ren Shiyuan was actually surprised by what she said.

She turned her gaze back to her mother, "And mommy too... Please don't fight with daddy."

Nian Jiezhen ended up looking at her husband. They both smiled at each other before they turned their gaze back to their child.

"Yes, yes, no more fighting." Nian Jiezhen patted her head. "So Xiaozhi, you have to be a good girl, okay?"

She nodded at her mother, "I won't skip class anymore."
