CHAPTER 2: Born Different Pupils, Hunting
The body that jumped from the cliff seemed so resolute and serene; her gown seemed to fly across the setting sun and sink beneath the sky. A group of guards were shocked, they had wanted to reach out and grab the woman yet it was already too late. The head gu
ard lay on his stomach on the cliff’s edge, staring at the silhouette that seemed it would fade away and disappear as soon as he blinked, only to feel a jolt in the pit of his stomach.
Merely a brief sentence spoken*, yet it managed to push someone to death and ruin a family. What kind of fault this woman actually had?
“The eldest young master had been brought back. We too, should return and report this.” The head guard looked at the misty valley beneath the cliff, shook his head and turned around to leave.
When everyone had left, the inside of this forest also resumed its former tranquility. As the night arrived, the inside of the forest appeared especially eerie and frightening. Moonlight fell between the trees, appeared and disappeared continuously. A grey furred wolf mother walked eagerly around the forest, seemed to be searching for something. It strolled around for a while and finally discovered a very small hole in the ground.
Those eyes were as green as the forest; they seemed to be suffused with a ray of viciousness, staring at the sleeping baby inside the hole as if they were looking at a plate full of food. Its white sharp teeth were exposed, as it was just about to bite down, it saw the baby opened her eyes. A ray of coldness floated inside those enchanting dark green eyes, it was as if they were able to see through your soul and let you do nothing but shudder.
“Wuu……” A whimper came from the gray wolf’s mouth. It seemed somewhat afraid and bowed its head. When the baby slowly closed her eyes, the world once again returned into darkness. In the faint moonlight, a big gray wolf could be seen carrying in its mouth, a silk bundle with a baby inside. It went into the darkness and slowly disappeared
Fourteen years later…..
Inside the dense forest, a flash of shadow leaped between the tree branches. Meanwhile, in a distant place, a yellow deer lowered its head to eat grass. Behind a tree trunk, a black shadow slowly stepped out, taking a shelter inside the bushes. Clear green rays flickered on top of the raised wooden arrow.
The yellow deer’s ears twitched slightly, it raised its head in alarm and looked around, yet it couldn’t see even a single living animal. Its innate ability to feel danger had just appeared, and surprisingly, a wooden arrow broke through the wind and came toward the deer. It practically pierced that yellow deer’s neck in an instant, a deadly strike!
“Ha~ dinner is settled!” A silvery tender voice appeared. That small shadow behind the tree trunk came out in one leap. Strange clothes was wrapped around that girl’s petite body, a full head of black hair was combed into a ponytail, her hands were holding a crude handmade bow and arrow, that stunning face was filled with joyous smile, the girl was also only fourteen years old at the most.
“Awuu…….” The shrubs were quivering and a gray wolf suddenly came out. One of its paws stepped on the yellow deer’s body as it raised its head to look at the girl. With a black spot between its eyes, it appeared extremely formidable.
“Yin Jian! This is my kill! You go hunt yourself if you want to eat!” The girl glared fiercely at the gray wolf she called ‘Yin Jian’. She waved her hand to drive the wolf away and nimbly pulled the wooden arrow stuck on the yellow deer’s body out.
“Wuu……” That wolf seemed to understand the girl’s word. It whimpered and rubbed the girl’s neck in a flattering manner, making the girl laughed.
“You this lazy bum, the next time going out, I’m not going to take you, I’ll take Yin Feng out!” The girl rubbed Yin Jian’s head and laughed as she spoke threateningly. Yin Jian’s stopped right away and in one jump, it brought the girl down on the ground. The looks it had when it bared its fangs could really scare people, yet the girl wasn’t scared at all.
Just as the girl was about to speak, a sharp sound of an arrow being released could be heard. The girl narrowed her eyes. A dangerous air was closing in, without any hesitation, the girl pulled Yin Jian’s big body with all her strength to the side, avoiding the arrow which was filled with murderous intent.
