“Hehe……” Jing Yue chuckled softly. She didn’t know why, but this had left a bitter taste in her mouth.
Jing Yue sat up. She lowered her head and sighed, saying, “It’s been a long time since I went to see Yin Jian and Yin Feng.”
After saying those words, Jing Yue then stood up and went down from the bed. When she opened the door, she found that there was no one around. Yin Qiao wasn’t present, and even Xing Er wasn’t there. She was a bit surprised but didn’t think too much about it, then went ahead taking a turn into the side courtyard. Sure enough, she saw Yin Jian and Yin Feng happily playing, amusing themselves.
“Two bad guys.” Jing Yue scolded laughingly, trotting forward to play together with the two gray wolves, rolling as far and as many times as they liked on that lawn.
As the night deepens, Jing Yue leaned against Yin Jian’s back with her eyes closed, savoring the scent of the earth and the gra.s.s. Wandering thoughtlessly, she seemed to be back inside the forest, wantonly playing without any worry, jumping and climbing over every corner of the forest.
Jing Yue turned her face, burying it on Yin Feng’s body, rubbing against Yin Feng’s soft fur. The corners of her mouth were slightly hooked up as she happily closed her eyes. Yin Jian moved its body and lied down on its stomach, swinging its tail and settling it gently on Jing Yue’s body. Yin Feng did the same. The two gray wolves circled Jing Yue, placing her between their bodies.
Just like they did numerous times inside the forest before; watching together the rising and setting of the sun, and enduring together the cold winter and the scorching summer.
When Xiao Chen walked into the side hall, what he saw was precisely this scene. A girl, circled in between the bodies of the two gray wolves, was sound asleep. Xiao Chen’s expression softened. He slightly adjusted his unsteady breathing and heartbeat.
Only G.o.d knows how panic his heart was when he returned to the fu and saw that empty room.
Xiao Chen moved forward towards Jing Yue with light footsteps. The two gray wolves, Yin Jian and Yin Feng whose eyes were closed, suddenly opened their eyes, staring somewhat vigilantly at Xiao Chen. Xiao Chen stopped his footsteps for a moment. They remembered his scent, even Jing Yue’s whole body was covered with Xiao Chen’s scent.
“Wu (whimper)……” Yin Jian whimpered for a short moment before it slowly moved its tail away. Yin Feng, who felt very unwilling, also moved its tail away. Something flashed in Xiao Chen’s eyes when he saw the action of the two gray wolves. He then stepped forward very carefully and crouched down to gaze at Jing Yue’s sleeping face.
Xiao Chen’s expression became gentle as he softly caressed Jing Yue’s cheek. Leaning over, he gently and cautiously took Jing Yue in his arms and held her up. Jing Yue felt uncomfortable and frowned. She then fixed her head against Xiao Chen’s bosom, continuing to sleep peacefully. Xiao Chen stopped his movements. He looked at the two gray wolves on the ground, the corners of his mouth were curved upward and he turned around to leave.
“Wu (whimper)……” Xiao Chen had just started to walk when he found that Yin Jian was biting the hem of his robes to stop him. Xiao Chen frowned and looked down. He finally saw that on the ground under Yin Jian’s claw was a dark green bead with a red string. The beautiful color somewhat stunned him. He turned his head towards Jing Yue who was in his embrace. He remembered that this bead was the one which Jing Yue always wore on her neck, why was it taken off?
Xiao Chen cautiously crouched and picked the bead up, holding it into his hand. He rubbed Yin Jian’s head before he stood up and left. The whiskers on Yin Jian’s snout were fluttering as it watched Xiao Chen’s back figure as he left, opening its mouth, looking like it was very happy. It continued to lie on its stomach, looking very tired.
Xiao Chen gently put Jing Yue on the bed. Meanwhile, Jing Yue turned her body over and continued to sleep, not at all looking like she was awakened. Xiao Chen finally relaxed and turned around. He walked out of the door, then glanced at Xing Er who was standing beside the door and said, “Tell Benw.a.n.g the whole story clearly!”
