Chapter 38 - Welcome Party

That same evening, Leila organized a reception for her new film and to welcome Alex to the RoyalStar family. In addition to the cast of the film, many artists were invited to this small reception. The party was held in one of the luxury hotels owned by ROYAL CORP. It was a magnificent place, refinedly decorated in gold and white; the room was accessed by two staircases that converge on the top floor. As it was a cocktail party, there were a bar and a bartender making cocktails, golden tables full of white plate appetizers to everyone content.

To enter that reception room, you had to first appear at the top and descend the stairs. That way, the people who were already in the room could see the others coming down the stairs as if a prince or princess were entering the ballroom. 

Of course, when Leila entered the room, all eyes were on her. Like her brother, she too was strikingly beautiful. Her short black hair was freshly made up, giving her a glamorous look. She wore a red evening cocktail dress that accentuated her beautiful curves, along with a small handbag. As she came down the stairs, everyone cheered. 

As soon as she entered the room, she was offered a cup of champagne and immediately started chatting with her guests as many people surrounded her asking this and that. There were a lot of people there tonight, most of them were actors and singers, but there were also businessmen looking for an investment or project to get in Leila's good graces or Eliott's if he decided to come, but that was another story as he rarely showed up at these types of events. 

Leila knew the reason why some of them approached her. She was used to these types of conversations by now with people begging her to let RoyalStar invest in their business or actresses who wanted her to set them up with her brother or Ethan. 

Sometime later, Fidelia and Christopher arrived. When they showed up at the top of the stairs, people dropped everything and looked at the two that were coming. 

Fidelia was wearing a beautiful black evening gown with a bareback that made her look super sexy. She was beautifully made up and had doe eyes, her beautiful lips were adorned with red lipstick and she wore gorgeous jewelry. Christopher on the other hand was wearing a very elegant black suit, a white shirt with a bow tie that gave him a distinguished look. He was really handsome that night. 

People were quite surprised when they saw that Christopher had actually brought someone to a party. All the women at that party were surprised to see him with a woman by his side because that had never happened before. One of the motivations of the actresses at the parties organized by Royalstar was to grab Christopher. He was considered one of the most attractive bachelors in town, plus he came from a wealthy family and was Eliott's closest friend, so a relationship with him was also another way to get closer to Eliott. Only he was never fooled by the games of those pathetic actresses. Or if he felt the need, he was the one taking advantage of them. 

So Fidelia had become the topic of conversation among the guests, which she did not dislike because she enjoyed watching these women's faces turned ugly with jealousy. 

After coming down the stairs, they went straight to Leila, who was also a little taken aback when she saw the two people coming towards them. 

"Hey, take a look at this! Our Mr. Casanova has a date tonight! And it's with our beautiful Fidelia! Am I seeing this right? Or am I already drunk?..." 

"Sis, please do not make fun of me, it's no big deal!!!" 

"You bet it is! If your mother sees this, she'll sleep like never tonight! So, Fidelia, I'd like to know how you managed to get him to give up his single life and debauchery? 

"Uh... I did not do much... Maybe I am just a little smarter and know some effective little tricks." 

"Oh, I see..." Leila blinked, smiling broadly, "You'll have to show me your tricks! Well, entertaining the guest Christ! it's your job, after all, I'll take a break and discuss with Fidelia for a bit." 

Christopher's expression darkened within a second, he did not really want to entertain himself, but did he even have a choice? That was most of his job anyway. "Alright, have fun you two. 

He then took Fidelia's hand and gave her a small kiss before leaving. 

Leila sat down on a small sofa with Fidelia and immediately started discussing with her. She was very curious and wanted to know how Fidelia had managed to deal with the playboy. 

"So, how long has it been? I mean, you are dating Christ?" 

"Actually not that long, we met at the airport the day we arrived and met a few days later and one thing led to another... I snagged him," she said with a triumphant smile on her face, to which Leila also smiled and nodded at her appreciatively. 

"Okay, I get it, at least he's serious about you, because he never brings anyone to this kind of event, he's like a little brother to me, so I hope you treat him well. I am sure you are already doing very well if he's that into you." 

"Don't worry, as long as he treats me well, I'll treat him well too. Um... Leila, I have a question, I want to know if our CEO will be here tonight?" 

"I don't think he will attend such events until he gets the post of CEO of ROYAL CORP. But why? Don't tell me you are also like those noisy girls ... " 

"Oh no, don't get me wrong, actually I have already met him, ahah... um how should I say he's kinda pursuing Alex now, I guess that's not news to you, but she's also kinda entangled with Ethan, so I don't want them to meet, you know..." Fidelia laughed nervously as she spoke, but honestly, who would not? She was talking about Leila's brother on one side and the most valuable actor in the company... But as a friend, she had to do this for Alex! She just could not imagine what could happen if they saw each other. 

"Oh, that... hum, don't worry about it, it's not a problem at all..." 

"Really? I mean, you know she's really dating Ethan and your brother..." 

Leila interrupted her with an amused laugh "Don't worry, um, how should I tell you, well, you'll find out soon anyway, just don't let it bother you!" 

"Tell me what? You are awakening my gossiping alter ego! I sense there's a lot of gossiping going on here!" 

"Okay! I guess you'll find out soon enough that they are actually the same man, so she's only dating one man, Eliott... I suppose..." 

When Fidelia heard that, her eyes widened, threatening to hit the floor with every word she heard. She could not believe it, Eliott was actually Ethan? So when people are curious as hell to get to know the mysterious Eliott Jensen, he's actually openly walking around with another face? Is that really true? She couldn't help to ask herself.

Just as she was about to ask for more explanation, the door opened and two figures appeared at the top of the stairs.
