Chapter 44 - The Allen Lose Everything

Alex felt stupid for being involved in this girl's game. She was used to being the target of such schemes when she started in the modelling industry. She thought that now she would be able to tell good people from bad or know when someone is trying to hurt her, but it's too hard to know people's hearts to predict their actions. She thought that she should be more on her guard in the future.

Elliott was in a quandary at this point. It was his job to protect her, but he had failed because he had to do Ethan's job and talk to those present at the reception. Therefore, he had failed to take good care of her and give those bastards the opportunity to mess with her. He thought about making her his priority from now on and always putting her first in everything he does so that situations like this would not happen again. For he knew that she would face more hardships once they were married.

"Yes, she was..." Eliott did not want to talk to Alex about the incident, for he knew her past and feared she would close herself off again if she knew where he had found her. But he also couldn't let her find out from someone else, so he decided to just answer her questions.

"Why did she do that? We didn't even know each other!" Alex's face hardened, this girl had the guts to do something like that to her. She remembered something and smiled "oooh well she told me she was in love with Ethan so she must have been trying to humiliate me in front of him?"

" I guess that was the plan too, I found you in a room with Kevin..." Eliott informed her hesitantly.

When Alex heard that she had been found in a hotel room, she was startled and sat backwards to get some distance from Eliott. Her heart started beating fast, she felt disgusted and wanted to get out of bed and take a shower, you could see tears in her eyes, she was shaking, her head was buzzing as she imagined what could have happened, "Is... Did... something happened to me?" she asked in a trembling voice, she couldn't believe it, her head was all mixed up 'why did this happen to only me?" she thought.

Eliott could read the fear and sorrow in her eyes, he guessed what might have been in her head, he looked at her with a reassuring smile "Don't worry darling, nothing happened to you, he didn't even touch a millimetre of your hair." He hopped onto the bed and slowly took her in his arms, she did not resist which reassured Eliott, at least she didn't close herself off from him. "Don't be scared... I am here for you, okay?" He patted her back tenderly to help her calm down.

Feeling the warmth of Eliott's reassuring embrace, Alex felt safe and gradually began to relax. The warmth she received and the soothing voice that was whispering to her that everything was okay brought back a specific memory. It was a memory she would never forget in her entire life. It was a feeling that gave her the strength to fight on that fateful day, 

"It's the same feeling I had back then when that bastard tried to rape her, the same reassuring feeling" Alex held Eliott tighter and unconsciously let out a smile. In his arms, she felt like nothing could happen to her. They stayed like that for a bit, not saying a word.

"And how did you make those bastards pay?" Alex broke the silence between them. She could not take this not doing anything, she was certainly going to get back at them.

"Quite simply, I made them understand that no one can touch my wife without paying the ultimate price... So don't worry, they will get what they deserve."

Alex had a surprised look on her face, her mouth slightly open and her eyebrows raised after hearing Eliott. She had not paid attention to anything Eliott said after hearing the word 'wife'.

"Did you just say, my wife?"

Eliott was surprised by her question as well. He was not aware himself that he had called her that, for it was natural to him, as he had already made her his wife in his mind, heart and soul. "Yes, I suppose I did!" he smiled, watching Alex's eyes open even more. "Speaking of which, I wanted to tell you something...."

Just as he was about to speak, the doorbell started ringing and he looked at the door a little annoyed, "How come someone always interrupts me just when I am about to talk! Damn!"

"It should be my sister and Fidelia, I'll open the door". 

"Can you help me and take me to the living room please?" Alex still didn't have the strength to go on her own, she felt helpless, but she didn't want people to come and see her all fragile like this. 

Eliott swallowed and pulled away the blanket covering her and she noticed she was not wearing her dress but pyjamas, certainly his pyjamas. She looked at herself and then looked at him with questioning wide eyes. 

Seeing the questions in her eyes, he simply replied as if nothing had happened, "I changed you, your dress was wet, so I had to. Since I am on my own, I had no choice but to do it myself," Alex did not respond, all you could see was her cheeks getting redder and redder. She buried herself in his chest as he carried her into the living room. 

Eliott smiled at the thought of getting his hands on the cutest creature he had ever seen. He thought she would be angry with him, but was more pleased with her reaction. 

Alex was not angry, or she could not get angry to be exact, because he took care of her all night, all she felt now was embarrassment as she remembered she was not wearing a bra that night. 

After laying her on the sofa, Eliott opened the door and it was indeed Leila and Fidelia as he had thought.

At the same time, the morning at the Allens' house was not very pleasant. Mr. Allen, Kevin and Kylie's father, was on the verge of a breakdown. His secretary had just called him to tell him that all contracts with ROYAL CORP had been cancelled and they had even withdrawn their investment in the upcoming movie. 

He could not remember how he had upset the Jensen family to deserve such treatment. Then he remembered that both his children had been at the ROYALSTAR party last night. He connected the dots directly and realised that the trouble had to be with one of his children.

"What the hell were you doing last night? Why did my contract with ROYAL CORP suddenly get cancelled?"

"It wasn't me, it was Kevin's fault!" Without batting an eye, Kylie put all the blame on her brother. 

"What? Don't fuck with me, didn't you drug her?" Kevin was furious because if he was in this position it was because of his little sister. It had been her plan from the beginning and he had only agreed to play a part. He had not even dared to think about getting Alex until she had told him her plan.

"At least it's not me who got caught trying to rape her!" Kylie dropped the bombshell as if nothing had happened. She was not going to take the blame for the mess she had made. After all, she was not the one who got caught.

Mr. Allen got a headache when he heard what his two children said, "Quiet!!!" he exclaimed in disgust. "Are you telling me that one of you is doing drugs and the other is a rapist?" His heart began to race as he slumped down on the sofa. He looked at the two angrily, "You even did your deed in front of our first customer, are you trying to kill me?

"Dad, you are a friend of Mr.. Jensen's, I am sure if you talk to him everything will be fine, I mean Eliott is not even the chairman of their company for now!" Kylie still didn't seem to grasp the gravity of the situation she had put them in.
