At first, Alan Porter wanted to go there alone with Aria, but his wife would not let him and joined him. She wanted to make friends with Madame Jensen. Even though she was considered to be at the top of society, there were still social circles she couldn't enter. Now that her daughter was becoming a Jensen, she was sure she could finally be part of Florelia's high society.
At 6 p.m., a black Mercedes parked outside the Jensen family mansion. A butler stood outside the door waiting. Aria and her mother were amazed at the house that stood before them, it was simply amazing. The style of the house looked like a modern castle. It was a big white house surrounded by a garden and a small lake, a harmonious combination of nature and this beautiful house.
Her eyes sparkled like those of children on the playground. Kylie already imagined herself living in this pretty house and enjoying her life as she deserved.
The family butler greeted them and took them to a small waiting room, asking them to wait and serving them tea before walking out.
A few minutes passed and the Jensen still wasn't there to greet them. The wait was starting to get a little long and Sheila was getting more impatient by the minute. She began to whine and boast that they had no respect for their future in-law.
Alan, deep in thought and a little apprehensive about this meeting, frowned when he heard his wife. He gave her a threatening look and told her to behave herself and not bring shame to the family. He already knew that what he was doing was a gamble. He didn't want her to come and add more problems to his plate.
A minute later, Eli showed up and greeted them languidly. He apologised for the wait as he was on the phone and her wife was busy in the kitchen.
In the beautiful living room of the Jensen house, the three guests took their seats, soon Lydia came out with a smile, she greeted Alan Porter and his wife before greeting Aria. She had a rather unreadable expression on her face as she faced Aria, eyeing her from head to toe. Alan could feel the pressure in Lydia's gaze, which was soon replaced by a smile.
"This is?",
"Ah, this is my daughter Aria." Alan was genuinely nervous as a drop of sweat stood on his forehead.
Lydia smiled and greeted them with gentle eyes. When Eli saw this, he could not help thinking that his wife was really a good actress. How could she hide her disgust with such a fake smile, he was so impressed he wondered how many times she had tricked him like that. Seeing the tenderness in Lydia's eyes, Alan thought that maybe things were not so difficult after all and relaxed a little.
They started talking about trivial things, of course, like what was going on in town these days, how business was going, and so on... Lydia seemed really interested in Aria and asked her a lot of questions about herself.
Sheila was glad to see that things were going smoothly, so the man and woman from the Porter side were slowly letting their guard down.
A moment after Leila had arrived and greeted everyone, she looked at Aria a little surprised, leaving a smirk on her lips. Aria had not expected her to be there, she thought it would just be the parents! Now she was panicking, after all, Leila knew all the embarrassing things she had done to Alex with Ethan.
When Lydia introduced her daughter to the Porter family, Leila had her diplomatic smile on.
"Hello. Mom, I know who they are. We had a little business with Aria some time ago."
When Aria heard that, she tensed up and looked at the ground. When Lydia heard her daughter's reply, she looked forward curiously at the Porter
"Oh, really so great, what kind of business do you have? It's been a long time since I stuck my nose in your company"
Leila looked at Aria and her mother "Well not much, but I heard she gave up her career?" She addressed her answer directly to Aria with a face that clearly screamed "I know what you did."
" Really? But why?" Lydia could act really well, at this point even Leila wanted her to join Royal Stars.
Aria had cold sweat on her forehead. She was so embarrassed to know that Leila knew all her scandals, she just could not get a word out.
"We wanted her to focus on her marriage, so she quit." Sheila quickly answered.
"Leila, you see she can sacrifice her career to be a good wife, you should learn from her... " Lydia showed a big smile and nodded to Aria as she spoke.
"Well... I am also amazed. The art of lying is really something here."
A short while later, Eliott arrived, and as expected, his appearance had made a great impression as everyone looked at him. When Aria saw him, her eyes immediately lit up, a sparkle could be seen in her eyes, she could not help but gasp, her mouth was open, he was truly stunning. Even her mother was gasping looking at his future son in law.
He was wearing a navy blue suit with a white shirt, on his feet were black leather shoes that shone like there was not a speck of dust on it. His face was well structured and his black hair well combed. To her, two words could describe him, "a devilishly handsome man." As she looked at him, she could not help but blush and giggle.
When he arrived, he greeted his parents and then went to Alan and apologised for being late. Alan Porter replied that it was fine, he knew how busy he was, and then introduced his family: his wife and daughter. Eliott did not greet them with his hand, but merely bowed to them and sat down leisurely beside his sister.
When Sheila saw this, she frowned a little. She had purposely left the seat next to Aria empty for him, but he chose to sit in the small seat next to Leila.
Before he had said a word, the butler came and announced that dinner was ready. Lydia smiled and motioned for everyone to follow her. As they took their seats at the table, the same thing happened. Aria thought Eliott would sit next to her, but instead, he took the seat across from his father.
Truth be told, that had always been his seat since he was a kid, so he didn't do it on purpose, it was just a habit he had, but even then he would not punish himself and sat next to her.
After dinner, they sat in silence before the real conversation began; starting with Lydia.
"Now that everyone is here, we should talk about the reason for your visit today, right?"
"Ah yes, now that the children are grown, we should talk about what we decided to do back then..." Alan smiled, having only one thing on his mind: it was finally time.
"Yeah, I think it's about time that brat got married, and I am glad it's one of your girls, Alan," Eli explained, sipping his wine as if he were a stranger commenting on the situation.
Eliott, who was eating without caring what the elder had said so far, looked at his mother with a small smile, as if telling her that the show was starting, and then looked at Aria with his professional, fake smile:
"So mom, is she the woman you found for me? Really?"
When Aria and her mother saw his smile, they were delighted, thinking he already liked her and gave him their best smile.
"Well, Mr. Porter has two daughters, Aria is the last one and the other is called..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Sheila abruptly interrupted her, "The other one is not worthy of Eliott, besides she's already involved with that actor Ethan or whatever..."
"Really? Leila, is that true? I mean Ethan is like my son too, if he was dating someone he would have told me..."
"That's definitely not true, I can assure you he's not seeing anyone. Eliott knows him best, he can confirm it."
"He's still single, but he was involved in some dating rumours with two sisters, now that I think about it, I think one of them was you, right?" Eliott had his poker face back on and looked at Aria. Then he looked at Sheila and frowned. "Indeed I knew I saw those two faces somewhere, you are the mother with the dirty tongue."
"What? Eliott, what are you talking about?" Now it was Lydia's turn to frown.
"Well, that's what the internet users call her because she was involved in a scandal.. Madam Porter claimed that Alex was dating Ethan, but Aria was the one who started the rumour that she was dating him by using some tricks to take pictures as if they were a couple, which gave me a headache by the way! I think that's why she got kicked out of PRICELESS right?. "
