Chapter 78 - A Good Show Is To Come!!

When Alan approached a small media outlet to tell the country, he was giving his daughter a business, he did not expect all the reactions he got on the Internet. His plan did not work out the way he expected. On the contrary, it had an opposite effect, so he began to regret his action.

In fact, that evening the main topic on the internet was the post about Alan Porter being good to his daughter! People could not shake the feeling that there was something fishy going on. You could see the shock on the reporter's face as he understood exactly what Alex was implying. You did not have to be smart to realize that Alex did not have good feelings for her father.

Alan wanted to gain people's sympathy, he wanted to restore his image in front of people so that when he told the world about his daughter marrying Eliott Jensen, people would not suspect him or see the plan behind it. He wanted to get Jensen's help and money with his head held high. But it did not seem like people were buying his philanthropic behavior and were already starting to spread rumors. So first, he had to speed up the meeting with Jensen, and second, after the engagement is settled, he would do something about the problem.

When Alex was back at her house, Fidelia also came home after her night with Christ. She knew that Alex did not have to work today and that she would just spend the day at home, so she let her play around the night before.

When they entered the house together, they sat lazily on the couch looking like two sacks of potatoes without saying anything before Alex broke their peaceful silence.

"Looks like I am officially getting engaged tonight".

"Wait, what?" Fidelia sat up straight, feeling a little confused. She knew what was going on with Alex, but she had not expected it to be so soon. She had not prepared anything for her communication with the public and Alex's fans, they did not even talk about her career after marriage or what she would do next once she tied the knot. It was too sudden for her, she had expected this to arrive after the movie at the latest.

"Well, you know the deal with my father... He called me this morning and said we had to go to them... I guess it's kind of like the two in-laws meeting before the wedding. So as of tonight, I will officially be his fiancée," Alex explained calmly.

Fidelia looked at her and exhaled in relief, "Oh my god! I was beginning to think you were going to go out in public tonight! You gave me a scare!"

Alex just chuckled before thinking a little about what Fidelia had just said because she had never really thought about it. When would the moment come when she would go public with all of this? Besides, there was now a rumour that she was Ethan's girlfriend, what would people think? Besides, she did not even know what Eliott was going to do. And then there were Eliot's parents, wouldn't they want to have a big ceremony for their child's engagement? She did not have an answer for that yet.

"To tell you the truth, I have no ideas on how to proceed with this engagement. But Eliott had told me that I could continue to do as I pleased, so..." Alex explained to Fidelia what Eliott had told her so she would worry less.

"Oh, that's good, because I was not thinking about how you were going to plan your career when you got married! Anyway, so today is finally the day it all kicks off? Are you going to let him know he's been played tonight or not?"

"I do not know, depending on what Eliott's parents would do or say, I'll just play along! But if he finds out now, I could not care less, I already got what I wanted the most, so I do not care!!!"

"Great, I wish I could be there to enjoy the show... Halas," Fidelia complained and laid on Alex lazily only to sit up the next moment. "OMG Alex what is all this???? OMG you did it! There's no way you did anything this time, with all the hickeys you have all over your body, I can even see some on your thigh!!!! Quick, quick, give me some gossips please!!!"

"Well, we just had a great time," Alex said mysteriously before heading to her room to avoid Fidelia's questions.

"You can run all you want Babygirl, but I will not let you," Fidelia smiled contentedly, genuinely glad that her friend was now getting a taste of her sex life.

At the Jensen mansion, Lydia was all excited because from this night on, Alex would finally become a part of her family. Not that she was really waiting for Alan's approval, but she knew it was important to her to give Alex the opportunity to fight her father and avenge her mother and grandfather, so she went along with the plan to go through Alan and the promise between their two families.

Her excitement was so great that she instructed her butler to clean the house completely and asked her cook to cook all the dishes she remembered Alex liking as a child, hoping her tastes had not changed. Eli could only look at his wife. He too was happy because his son had finally found love and his wife finally felt less helpless and sad about her best friend's sad story.

As Eli thought about how dinner would go, he was a little worried that his wife would tell Alan about Alex and Eliott's relationship. Eliott had not given them any instructions on the matter. He did not want to put Alex in an awkward situation. He needed to know what the plan was because he knew that his son certainly had a plan to bring Alan down.

"Hello, son... What do you want me to do with Alan today? Your mother is so excited I am afraid she'll show him that we are already in contact with her and maybe brag about your relationship..." Eli talked to Eliott about his worries. It was better to know his plan in advance so they could play along.

"Well, actually, she can do whatever she wants, Dad... Alex already got what she wanted most from that man, and the rest is up to me. Whatever he knows or does not know would not change that or" Eliott pauses for a minute, thinking about something "Dad actually tells Mum to brag all she wants! I want to know how he's going to react... What will he do when he finds out that his daughter has been playing with him as he did with her mother..."

Eli understood what his son was getting at, and ended the conversation before telling his wife what was planned for that night, and Lydia could not be happier to hear it! As she smiled, Eli knew they were going to have a good show that night!
