Chapter 81 - Alan True Colors Exposed

Alex had never felt so bad for her mother as she did that day! The man sitting in front of her was just a selfish snake. All the years her mother had been with him were nothing to him, he really had never felt anything for her and she could not help but shed a few tears for her mother.

She could not understand how a father could take advantage of his own daughter like that. Using his own daughter to steal his own wife's fortune was just wrong, no matter how you felt about it! Alex was disgusted as she looked calmly at Alan. Her blue, piercing eyes looked directly into Alan's eyes, they were cold and devoid of emotion. If she had once had a shred of feeling left for her father, now there was none left, Alan was just a stranger interfering in her life.

"So back then you used me and the Jensen's love for my mother to rob her of money so you could build your empire while protecting your disgusting son?! And today, you still have the guts to shamelessly come to me and try to use me one more time? Let me tell you, Mr Porter, that I, Alex Mitchell, have had nothing to do with you for a long time! You cut any emotional father-daughter connection we might have had when I was a child, and you cut any remaining connections we had when you came to me and showed me that you had given up any parental rights you might have to me and wanted me to stop contacting you in the future! Hence my question, why are you here while I am talking to my fiancé's parents about my wedding?"

Allan's face paled when he heard Alex mention the fact that he had given up on his parents way back when. No one was supposed to know about this, only he and his wife knew about it, not even the other members of the Porter family knew about this fact. The Jensen was not supposed to know about this! He was so excited that he himself had forgotten about this, he had actually forgotten that he no longer had any parental ties to Alex before the law, he had bragged to her that he was her father so she should obey him, but he had actually forgotten that he was in fact nothing for her! 

But now it was already too late to think about it, Alex had already spelt bean! So there was no way he could disprove it even if he tried, Lydia seemed to like Alex already and he was sure now, that Alex and Eliott had known each other before. He frowned, feeling that his daughter had indeed played him for a fool and that his coming here was all planned! Now he was getting angry because he had just given her back her grandfather's holdings and shares in his own business! He clenched his fist, knowing how much money he had just lost! Now all he could do was rely on the Jensen to still help him, but looking at them now, he already knew it was over.

"I did not know you could go that far, Alan! However, since you have already waived your right, rest assured that I am going to take good care of Alex because as of today, she's my daughter and believes me, I am going to make sure she's happy and forgets that she had a shitty father like you!" Lydia looked at Alan in disgust; she knew that money can make someone do crazy things, but this was just too much for her, it was beyond her imagination!

She still hoped that after Alex and her mother left, he still had some awareness to at least send some money for his own daughter, because he had taken everything from them! She had tried to help her friend, but she had always said that she did not need her help, so she had always thought that Alan was still in his right mind a bit and was looking after her. Now she felt that even after so long in this world, she had still seen the craziest things!

"Alan, as a father, all I can say is that I am really disappointed in you, how can you treat your own blood so cruelly? Anyway, since you are no longer the father of this beautiful young girl, you must know that the help you expected from us for your company, if you benefit anyone again, you will not get it. I see no reason to help a stranger!" Eli, who usually did not talk much, was very angry when he heard what Alan had done. He could not take it anymore and just wanted to see him leave his house!

"I see you have accomplished your goal, haven't you? You rob me and make a pile of money out of me! Do you think you'll live well after this? Let me tell you this since you made my life a living hell, it will be my pleasure to destroy yours as well!" At this point Alan could not hold back his anger, he was acting like a child, he could not believe he could be so reckless with his property! All of this showed how desperate he was to save Priceless and fall into Alex trap. His eyes were all red as he looked viciously at Alex. Now he was only thinking of one thing: making her pay for his loss! 

Alex at her side clutched Eliott's hand as she heard him, but the warmth she felt through Eliott's hand made all her fear disappear, she knew she was not alone from now on. "I did not steal anything from you! I only took back what was originally mine! So do not delude yourself into thinking that you didn't do anything wrong! Everything you are going through now is exactly what you deserve!

After Alex finished speaking, Alan stood up abruptly, he could not contain his anger anymore and stormed out of the Jensen mansion without even greeting them. He knew they would be of no use to him, so he did not think it necessary to be polite to them. He had to quickly find a way for Alex to lose face in front of everyone. Even if she was protected by the Jensens, he still had things on her that could destroy her image and career. He was a little relieved that he had usurped all of the company's assets he had given her and bought back some of his family's shares! 

After Alan left, all the tears, Alex had suppressed thinking about her mother's depressing and sad life came flooding back and she could not help but bury herself against Eliott's chest and cry out all her pain. Her pain was so great that she did not even consider that she was in front of her fiancé's family as she cried like a big baby.

Eliott's heart hurt when he saw how sad and offended Alex was about her father. He was furious. Alan and his family had done so much to Alex and her mother that they did not deserve to live the way they did. Seeing how hurt Alex was, Eliott took matters into his own hands. It was now his job to make life miserable for the Porter!

Lydia signalled Eliott to take her away so he could comfort her in peace. Eliott took her and brought her to his room to comfort her. He did not know what to say or do. It was the first time he had ever been in a situation like this, he had no one he loved like Alex, he had no one whose pain could hurt him like this either, and he was frustrated because he did not know what to say to make her feel better. 

But really, Eliott did not need to say anything, because his warmth, his embrace, and his tenderness were the best remedy for her brooding pain. Alex stayed in his arms for a long time, taking the time to calm down and get her emotions back in check. She hugged Eliott as tight as she could, he was the most important man in her life now and she was very pleased that he was such a caring man, at least she knew he was nothing like her father.

It was funny because while other people had their father protecting them from everything, including men because they did not want their precious daughter to meet a bad guy, Alan had done just the opposite. He did not protect her when she was in danger but used her to his own advantage before trying to sell her to save his company.

At that moment, as she lay in the arms of this perfect man trying to ease her pain by holding her as tightly as he could, she decided that from now on she would do whatever it took to live her best life and make Eliott the happiest man in the world and to show Eliott that she could be happy in her life even without his love.
