Chapter 87 - If I Say I Like You Too

"My Lord," whispered Tania, amazed or perhaps shuddered, as she felt Baron Jason's hand feel so soft against her skin, even more so than the softest of the most comfortable cloth and cotton she had ever encountered.  New attention she was always waiting to get.

Like a magnet attracting opposite poles, now she felt it.  Her wide eyes almost failed to even blink, to just remind herself that all this was not a dream: a man he liked suddenly turned very sweet, according to what she had imagined and wanted.

Finally, she woke up after the last sweep seemed to wake her soul which had fallen asleep.  Followed by a maid who came to bring medicine for her.

"My Lord," the maid nodded, walking to stop at the point where Baron Jason wanted.  "Here is the medicine you asked for."

The maid shuddered when she saw Tania's ragged, pathetic, and bloody figure.  Tania's hair was disheveled, the dress was torn and red in many places, seeping from the cloth and the ground, leaving many clumpy red spots in several places.

'As I remember Lord Jason doesn't have any captives.  He hated having captives, even in the past, he wanted to destroy this prison.  But why is there suddenly a prisoner here?  Moreover, she is a girl who is still young and beautiful,' thought the maid, frowning as she looked at Tania for a long time.  'Do they have a special relationship?'

The maid left after Baron Jason had commanded, an order that took even her by surprise. She kept her eyes fixed on Tania and him as if to make sure the maid had missed something.

'The Lord will let her self-medicate?  Is it possible that she can do it?' As the maid's feet trailed off and disappeared down the prison passageway to another room.

Baron Jason didn't turn to Tania, not even when the medicine box was thrust at her.  She looked so beautiful and alluring, though not quite as pretty as Lyra, that she captivated him in a new and subtle way, without even realizing it.

The maid's footsteps went undetected by her, at all, as if no one had come to meet her in that prison.

'What am I thinking?' Baron Jason thought after he was stunned for a long time from absorbing Tania's beauty.  Her facial features turned out to be very attractive, without even realizing it.  At times she looked prettier than Lyra if only one could take a good look at her.

It's just that Tania has a body that is not as curved as Lyra's, she is a girl with a slightly skinny stature but still attractive.  Her brown hair was like melted sugar, sweet and lovely.

"What are you doing?"  Tania groaned when she felt Baron Jason now starting to clean her face with the water in the container, removing the sticky and sticky dust.  "My Lord!"  she screamed as the wounds on her legs and the rest of her body were wiped away by the water.  A stinging sensation engulfed her from the point of the wound, which was gaping and sometimes still bleeding as if the wound-closing system in her body wasn't functioning properly.

"Didn't you see it?"  And why did Baron Jason's voice sound so low and friendly?  One thing that was the complete opposite of what he had done to her a moment ago.

Who do you think asked the foreigners to drag her to jail, and who kicked her so hard earlier?  It was as if he had someone else who had the same face as him.

"I'm treating your wound."  He said again, like a familiar person and a stranger.  "I don't want you to get hurt."

"B-but…" She whimpered again, having failed to continue her speech due to the pain that assailed her.  Now some wound ointment was applied to her skin, giving various sensations.

"And you'll be fine," whispered Baron Jason again, taking the last step to stroke Tania's tangled hair, smoothing it like a knight.

Once again she was stunned, as her heart rate increased sharply, as well as the sound of stifled breaths.  Her hair that was scattered now was neat, while in her eyes she saw him tucking a flower in her ear, and imagination that she hoped would come true, even though she knew it would be very difficult.

"You caught me and handed me over to Mr. Pinn," she said, shaking her head as she looked down, reluctant or not daring to look directly at him.  It seems that the turmoil and ambiguity still grip her to this day, and maybe even for quite a while.

"You made me bail so Lyra could get punished for refusing your proposal," she continued, holding back tears as she remembered the house they worked so hard to burn down.  They have shed all their tears, sweat, and even blood just to get a rental house from Mr. Pinn.  Now everything is destroyed, charred, and leaving only losses.

There were lots of rumors and insistence asking Tania and Gerald to antagonize Lyra.  The people felt that the situation was so unfair as if they had sniffed something fishy, that Lyra was the cause of the incident somehow.

Often Tania is squeezed by various thoughts, then perceptions that seem like suggestions, seem to force her to obey what people say, namely hating her best friend.  But sadly, she always failed to do so, besides she didn't intend to.

"And you even asked Mr. Pinn to torture me, treat me worse than a slave, and even ask him to mutilate my body as long as I am alive."  Tania's voice trembled, cursing herself because even though she had heard all that, earlier, her feelings for Baron Jason were still the same.  She still liked him.  Why is she so stupid?  That's what she is now asking about.

"Then you kidnapped me, tortured me here, intending to make me die."  Unknowingly a tear rolled down her cheek, flowing like a dry and sore spring.  Her two eyes stared at him weakly, with a trembling hand, which was dotted with scars and bruises that were starting to form.  "And suddenly you were treating my wound, asking if I was all right.  Does that make sense?  Even someone with multiple personalities takes a certain break when experiencing a switching personality.  And you are not that person.  So is this possible?"

"You're just confused why I'm doing this right when you like it?"  His feet stepped forward, still crouched.  His eyes locked her gaze tightly.  "You're just wondering why I'm still doing it?  If I say I like you too, then what will you do?"
