Chapter 1：When it turns cold

Now that she's married to him of course she would get the same privilege except most of the time they dare to mock and bully her whenever she comes together with him to attend any function. While Cole would only watch from far not bothering to stand up for her. Three years she endure the bullying among these socialites. Three years she's been treated like a mistress although Cole would never touch her. And three whole years she dedicated her life to this man fulfilling her promise to his grandfather. She was labeled as gold digger by him and his whole family except for his grandfather. It was all because her parent lied to his family and extort large amount of money from them one day before her wedding. After they receive the money on that same day, they ran off leaving her taking the abuse and the misunderstanding. But she just endured everything. The look on Cole's grandfather makes her toughen her heart and close her eyes and ears to everything around her. Three years she endured it all. But from this day onward, she will no longer stay silent. The news that she read this afternoon made it all change. At least it was not her who broke the promise.

After reading the news, she felt like she was being released from a heavy burden. Looking at the two person that she knew after living in this mansion she felt nothing. Without any hesitation, she packed her things up. Right now, she's just sitting there waiting for Cole to come home before she heads for her freedom. Her phone rang while she waits in the living room. She looked at her watch and it's almost 10 o'clock. Looking at the name caller id, she frowned before picking it up.

"Grandfather, why are you still awake?" Her voice sounded so calm as if there's no big news happening. Even the maids have been puzzled by her reaction for the whole day. They just look silently from the side when she packed away all of her stuff and placed them in front of the door. The maids respected her because she never treats them as servant instead treat them as one of her friends. And she will always asked about their well being. Which is why when they saw she packed away all of her things, they could not help but feel sad.

"Aurora, have you read the news?" A weary voice can be heard from the other end. Aurora could tell Cole's grandfather, Mr Wayne feeling frustrated over the news.

"I have kept my promise, grandfather." She said without any emotion. She was no longer the person who would compromise. In fact she turn to the person who she was before three years ago. When Mr Wayne heard it he knew he can no longer bound her to the promise. He try so hard to protect this family and his stupid grandson decided to blow up the whole thing. It was his family fault to begin with. They offended someone they shouldn't have three years ago. He decided to settle it by himself but he didn't know they were unwilling to hear any reason nor accept his apology. He was beaten up and was on his death door when he saw Aurora walking in looking motionless staring at him who was on the ground. Unable to keep awake, he finally let the darkness seep in. He woke up five days later and the first person he saw was her sitting like a queen. Not knowing her identity, he asked her to help him and she agree without hesitation but in return he was to stay there and not going back to his house. He was flabbergasted at first but he was desperate at the same time. He accept the term and within the next hour he got a call it was resolved. His company was saved and blooming. From that day onward he stayed at her house until few months later when he got news about his grandson accident. And that's where things started to change.
