30 The Children's Separation

They are totally lost!

Drizella doesn't know the way to Xuehua's place. Last time, Xiao Lizi and Xiao Mei was the leader in leading her. Also, the location from then and now aren't the same! Don't tell her they are going to be lost forever.

She faces the two children as they look at her with question marks floating above their head. She doesn't have the courage to tell them that they are lost. They will definitely lose the tiny bit of hope in themselves. She looks up into the sky with tears glittering in her eyes as she yearns for Xiao Lizi and Xiao Mei to find her quickly... only that... Xuehua must have told them not to.

The two children stare at each other not knowing what the person who saved them is doing. With the mask on, they don't know what her appearance is like. They only know that the person is a girl and saw the tip of her clean chin and cherry red lip when she ate the medicine.

A man suddenly descends right in front of her eyes. She didn't even sense his presence and her guard was completely down. Instead of attacking her, he waved his hand with a bright smile and curved eyes: "Hello!"

She was completely caught off guard, she can only blink her eyes and answer back: "Hi...hello?"

He quickly glances at the two children behind her, inviting her: "Shall we go sit over there?"

She nodded her head, there was a small stand at that side. He wouldn't try something in front of so many people.

As they sit down, the two children stay at her side. The stand owner's daughter came over with a very red blush on her face, as she asks them what they want to order, she was clearly acting very shy. Almost like this is the first time she has seen someone so handsome. He ordered three noodle soups and two bottles of cherry plum wine.

As the order was being delivered, Drizella notices that every ladies eyes were glue on him. But he still has a smile on his face, making her very unsettling. She pours cups of water for the two children and herself forgetting the man. He made a cough as she was about to tilt her mask a little to drink. Realizing her own mistake, she also pours a cup for him.

He didn't even try to beat around the bushes as he said, "Thank you for saving the girl. I will now be taking her with me."

Drizella almost choked on her cup of water. She answers back, trying to find out his purpose: "And the boy?"

"He has no purpose so his life isn't important. Is what that person would say."

Drizella: "I don't like your attitude. Tell that person that I wasn't following his order. I saved her because I saw something I didn't like. And if the boy has no purpose, he belongs to me."

He angerly exclaimed, "Don't lie. You are just one of that person's lackey. So don't talk big."

Drizella places her cup down and slides the mask to cover her whole face: "I didn't know you can make that sort of face. You are always smiling like an idiot. But when it came to that person... changes can be seen. How could I be lying in this situation? You said I'm following that person's order but it was only to save the girl. Why would I even save the boy?"

He thought and calmly stated, "... Because you want to impress the crown pri... that person. That's why you deliberately saved the boy too. So the prince would look at you more impressively."

Drizella dumbfoundedly stares at him as if he's an idiot. That was his conclusion after taking the silence to think. Well, he isn't wrong but he isn't right either: "Hahaha! You really are joking! There are many ways to impress the 'said person', why would I put my life on the line for something as stupid as that. You're a funny guy."

His ears turned red but he didn't know if it's due to embarrassment or shame. However, he still maintains a compose appearance without any flaw.

Drizella thought about the three princes from the Zovaidel Kingdom and the times she has seen them. Even if it's just a glance, there was always some sort of emptiness in their eyes from time to time. She said without think: "Other girls are practicing the four arts and cultivating their talents to impress them. However, their marriage partner is decided by their parents or they already have someone they loved... but can never be together with. And have those girls thought about their feelings? They have feelings and a heart too like everyone else... is born from a human being like everyone... they are no different from other people... They are just a little better than most boys. But they are still a human being."

Realizing she has spoken her mind, she diverted her words: "...Is... Is what someone I know said! So...so lets move on! ..Um..um... The boy with stay with me is alright, right?"

He nodded his head. The crown prince has no use for the boy even if he "used to have " connection to the royal family. He only wants to protect his younger sister now that no one can.

"Then it's alright if the kids have a little talk of their own before she goes with you?" questioned Drizella as she glimpses at the two children who are enjoying their noodle soup.

He was about to say no however he suddenly answered her with a nodded. But his face clearly stated his unwillingness.

...

At the back of the stand, near the forest where they came from. The two children stand there with the young boy hugging the girl as she cries and clags to him. Her tears are like rainfall as they touch the ground. It seems to revive the grass under their feet and makes the trees swing in sorrow.

Drizella didn't know what they were talking about for the girl to cry so loudly. But she decided not to bother with it instead seeing the two lonely figure in the forest without comfort, she hugged the two children in her bosom. She patted their head but didn't know what to say.

The only sentence she kept repeating is: "You two will definitely meet."

With that, she took the boy with her as she wonders aimlessly in the forest. She didn't forget to take the cherry plum wine with her. Before going she even orders some pack snacks and two water bottles secretly and has the guy pay for her. She has no money or doesn't know the currency of this world, so letting someone who owes her pay her share isn't a bad deal.
