42 Celebration of War Victory III

Drizella pushes the sword away from Jasmine's direction with the bamboo flute, towards her direction. The sword slice through the bamboo flute in a flash and went towards her shoulder. She manages to sidetrack the sword a bit so it only leaves a shallow cut.

She ruthlessly throws a punch out. If it hits or not didn't matter to her, as long as she can create space between them, Jasmine and the other princesses including the servants can escape. She also created time for herself to regroup her thoughts and for other fighters to join in the fight.

Jasmine didn't leave like what Drizella thought she would. She came back and pour healing magic into her wound. However much Jasmine pours her healing magic the wound didn't close instead it makes the wound grow bigger, "Why isn't it working?!"

Drizella holds onto Jasmine's hand, staring intensely at her, and shouted, "Why didn't you leave?! Their target is you!"

"I would regret my decision by leaving you alone when I involved you in my personal problem!" Jasmine shouted out with an anxious face.

Drizella wanted to laugh and tell Jasmine that 'if she is worried about her, she shouldn't have involved her in the first place.' She holds her thoughts in as her eyes trailed down Jasmine's face, spotting sweat and her hand shaking as she kept pouring useless amounts of mana into her (Drizella).

Drizella weakly smiled, "Princess, your life is more important than someone like me."

She pushed Jasmine into the hands of Noah. Someone she knows she can trust and understands that he will protect his little sister.

Noah was surprised to see someone falling into his arms. The person inside his arms breathing was weak and her body was shaking nonstop. Noah handed her to one of his trusted aides, "Take my sister and find a doctor!"

After he finishes ordering his trusted aid, he didn't go into battle mode, he observed the battle with a nonchalant look.

Drizella who was now on one knee follows the silhouette of the man the guards are fighting against. She kept feeling that she has seen those empty eyes before. It wasn't from a long time ago, it was... it was... when Jasmine got attack yesterday! He was the man who caught her throwing hairpin and crush it.

They sure work fast, they attempt a kidnapping yesterday and failed. Today they try to assassinate Jasmine during the celebration. They have guts or just plain stupid to plan an assassination during a celebration. However, why is there only one person today, yesterday there was another man with him.

Should she think highly of this man or not. Willing to come alone to his deathbed and protect his comrades or he is just a distraction and his other comrades have gone to where Jasmine is.

She took a glance at Noah then returned her sight to the battle. Her thoughts were circling around why that brother of Jasmine didn't go with her. He must have known why Jasmine is being attacked to the point that she needs bodyguards. Buut now there only consist of her being the bodyguard for Jasmine. This royal family would be the death of her before she can return to the Tremune's mansion.

She stares as all the guards were knocked into the ground. This man is very strong, all the guards have used their spiritual items but still got defeated. Not only that the man didn't even use his spiritual item and he isn't even breaking a sweat. It's a onesided fight and he is just toying with them to his own rhythm, allowing them to think that they are winning when they are really losing.

His lock eyes with Drizella. They stare at each other's eyes before the man unknowingly throws a smoke bomb and disappear. For a second there Drizella felt he was smiling at her under his (ninja-like) mask but what for. Do enemies smile at each other?

...

A young woman with heavy curls sighs as she caught the person she was looking for. The person she was searching for was sitting in luxury with a glass of wine in hand. It was a beautiful sight as any person can see, the only problem is the aura surrounding him doesn't fit in with the scenery. She walks towards the man and handed him a recording device.

The recording device is a small circular shape, fitting the hand. There are two types, the gray are mostly for recording or pictures and what commoners can buy the most. The white is recording audio with clear pictures; nobles and royals have the money for.

The one in his hand is a white recording device. He glances at the woman then watch the recording unfold without interest.

The woman watches him as he tightens his grip on the recording device and his eyes glued onto the little girl in the center of the stage, playing a bamboo flute. Just as she thought, this man can never forget about that woman even if his demeanor has changed. How long is he going to be trap in this illusion of her being alive and how long does she still has to wait for... before it is her turn to have his love.

She thought he would give the recording back to her like always instead he tucked it into his bracelet.

After all this time, he is still wearing that love bracelet. The bracelet he is wearing is in a pair, with a golden dragon coiling around it.

There are many myths relating to pair of ornaments. The most common myth is about a young man and a goddess. Even though the young man is poor, he has a very good heart. He is always helping injured animals. One day, two of the animals he has helped lead him into a cave, in there was a very beautiful bird with feathers as white as snow. He stays in the cave to treat this mysteries bird. What he didn't know is that this bird is actually a goddess. With them staying together in close proximity, the goddess learns about the man's good heart. She slowly fell in love with him. After she recovered she decided to pay him back by marrying him. They were happy with their lives, but not for long, as the goddess's mother heard about her daughter and decided to break the two apart. For the final moment, the goddess uses a drop of their blood to create a pair of bracelets. She gives one to him (she kept the other one), telling him it will help him find his own happiness and vanish from his sight. The young man never uses the bracelet and always wear it (cause she was the happiest he was waiting for.) He waited for her but she never came back. The young man fell ill and died, causing the goddess to feel great grief. The goddess holds the young man's cold hand and wishes with her whole being, "I'm willing to give up my status and life for his life...". When the young man woke up, the person he was waiting for was slowly disappearing from his sight. He reaches out and only caught the bracelet. The young man lived his whole life looking after the pair of bracelets and injured animals.

The people of the Desert Empire took the myth as longing for love and the pair of bracelet turn into a pair of ornaments that shows your love for each other.

"How long are you going to keep waiting?" the woman asks as she kept staring at the bracelet around his arm.

The man didn't answer her and just walk past her.

"Kasim! Can't I... Can't I replace her? I've been by your side even before she arrives," the woman gathered her courage and said with a spark of hope.

He didn't turn back towards her and only answered, "No one can replace her... not even you. I only see you as a sister and will always."

She laughs shallowly as she remembers the time he has rejected her using the same words.

...

Drizella bandages her wounds and changes into a pair of male servant outfit. She sighs and sighs as she heads towards Jasmine's bedroom wondering what she called her for after an attack. What she didn't know about is that the person who called her wasn't Jasmine but the Sultan's brother, Kasim.
