Chapter 4

“Lord Abel, you’re here.”

The majestic skeleton captain who is wearing armor found me while bowing his head to greet. And he drew his sword on a whim.

Clang, the sword was pointed at the tip of my neck with a sound.

“Why is a human here!”

“I brought her here, so leave it alone. What about Karein?”

Don’t go away like that. I’m under threat, you bastard!

As I stared at Abel’s back, he still glared at myself with a vigilant eye (I know, because my eyes are wide open). I sneaked out of the skeleton captain with a smile that I used when I first fell here ‘I’m a harmless human being.’

As I followed the drooping red thread, I saw a room with an insignia that said ‘I am a noble person.’

Hey, is this the right place?

There was a voice that gave off a feeling of drowsy yet overwhelming pressure. As I walked through the insignia, I saw Abel filling a cup with a drink or something in front of him.

I came to my senses with an insecure glance at the maid, legsless, floating under her long skirt, carrying a refreshment, a monster with no features, and almost screamed at her casually.

“Okay, let’s talk about it now.”

I woke up to the voice that said. Abel, who had loosened his chest, looked at me with his lazy, half-leaning eyes.

…… That man. Reminding me that he was a villain, he sat in front of me and filled his cup. It was a bloody, unknown drink. I smelled it, but I didn’t even touch it because I knew it was blood from my experience.

All around were dead creatures with red threads strung like a spider web. Why am I here? Just a day ago, when I was about to miss my daily life-the warm life I had with the monsters-Abel said, tilting his cup as bright as my own.

“Now, let’s think of what happened that day. Human. ‘No way my life is going on like this……it’s ridiculous.’ You said, what does that mean?”

That day, I said while saving Abel, who became a half-corpse. It was something I muttered inadvertently without knowing it, but if I knew that the other person was Abel, I wouldn’t have said anything!

I tried hard to keep smiling.

“Yes, it meant that you should survive, it wouldn’t make sense to end your life! Yes! Yes.”

“Well, then this? ‘It doesn’t make sense to have my nose hooked on a guy that’s about to get killed. It’s impossible!’ Tell me, how did you know I was going to die?”

Are you a stalker?

I tried to grasp my eyes that were about to shake terribly and came up with an excuse. I was strong in adapting to the situation. However, the bright red eyes were sweeping me through as if I was bleeding, so my head was turning blank. Eventually, I stuttered like an idiot.

“That, I, I’m actually-”

“Actually?”

Red lips twist, and the sculptural face tilts. I can never tell you that I know where, how, why you die. I can’t say that you’ll die in vain and die as a supporting character and third male interest. I can’t say it.

Seeing that fascinating appearance, I will blow everything and die! I thought so, but I desperately suppressed that feeling. The fluttering trouble had to end around here.

It would be more dangerous to know that the red thread had something to do with [Solar], and I needed something similar to turn it around and make him understand.  Then it reminded me, in the original, there were the three goddesses of fate who control the red thread of [Solar].

“Yes, it’s because you will be the one that leads to the thread of fate!”

“Fate?”

The corners of his mouth are twisted. I don’t know if he really knows about the goddess or if he’s intrigued, but I just sputtered words because my life was at stake.

“Well, yes! I saved you. Honestly, it’s true that you almost died soon. But I saved you, and the thread of fate that the three goddesses of fate wove from that moment was tied with you.”

“Hmm.”

“So! If I die, you die too. So you shouldn’t kill me. You know the legend of the three goddesses of fate?”

For some reason, this is useless, he’ll die! I thought he might wield his scythe, so this is my insurance. Then Abel snapped his cup and seemed to sink in his thoughts.

As for the pose, I can name it as ‘thinking handsome man’. I stared blankly at his sculptural face and shook my head.

It’s really a villain, but his looks are amazing. I haven’t seen Assand, who is the real male main character, but if Assand’s excluded, he might be one on the top.

But the author didn’t give everything. Instead, he’s not smart. In the original work, I shook my head at the thought of him being tempted by the female lead, took a blow to his heart and died in vain. Then he opened his mouth and said.

“Then I shouldn’t let you go. Because our faith is intertwined. And above all, I really need your healing ability.”

As you can see I have an imperfect body. He muttered, and when he scraped my wrist down with my fingernails, blood was formed. Is he a specialty in self-harm? I looked at it absurdly, and soon came to my senses and protested.

“That’s very obvious. I have no intention of using my healing powers on you…”

Abel’s face came closer with the feeling of my body being pulled strongly.  No, it was correct that I was pulled to his side. The embarrassment in my face, as he looked down at me arrogantly and the brief strain of my wrist held by him.

Ugh, as I frowned at the pain of my tingling wrist, I looked down and he manipulated my tight hands to make his wounds go away.  As if it was almost touching, the touch on my fingertips felt strange and when I flinched, he let me go with his red eyes shining satisfactorily.

“If what you said is true, doesn’t it mean that if I die, you will also die? There is no one-sided relationship.”

What, what? I thought you wouldn’t understand, but you got the point. If I die on purpose, you die! He came up with a conclusion by drawing up the hidden words! I looked up at his handsome face, hiding my astonishment.

“So from now on, let’s get along well. Human.”

He was smiling, but with his cool eyes, I swallowed dry saliva without knowing it.

Bad-brained handsome fool. My assessment of Abel was nothing more or less. Hey, you’re not as stupid than I thought? I felt like I was lost on the original book I believed in.

*

“This human has special abilities. It is necessary for me, so anyone who touches it is subject to severe punishment.”

The believers looked a little dissatisfied with the arrogant order but they gently bowed their heads. In the original, Abel is a reaper. He is demi-god, or half-immortal, so if one stabs his heart, he dies. Because of this, he made a fake heart and put it in, and the real heart was hidden separately.  He doesn’t die unless someone stabs him in that heart.

However, since he is not a perfect existence, he feels pain and bleeds when injured, and he cannot regenerate until it is healed. However, there are no doctors in this world, only healers who use the power of light. Because he is a fallen being, I was the perfect ‘fucidin’ for Abel, who was adversely affected by the power of the Healing Priest. No, it might be madeccasol.

(T/N: fucidin is a ointment to treat wounds, while madeccasol, popular in Korea, is used to prevent wounds from leaving a scar. More or less like what Lian is doing for Abel.)

“Human. Is it true that you can heal Sir Abel?”

Anyway, as soon as it was announced I was the dedicated “first aid kit,” whenever his fanatics and his subordinates met me and shouted at me.

It seemed unbelievable that I could restore God, when I was a human being who came up from the middle world, not even a monster.

Then, I didn’t even put on an excuse, and I spoke like an insurance salesman.

“Oh, of course. You were deceived! I can heal him perfectly with just my hands.”

“No way! How is that possible?”

“Well, that’s because Abel and I are connected by fate.”

So, when I sold the three goddesses of fate of [Solar] without failing like an insurance salesman in the sense that they should not kill me, the faces of the monsters were distorted.

In my memory, these are the guys who take Abel’s frequent vacancy from the temple, and decisively make him enter the Apocalypse, the group of Villains.

Maybe that’s why the red thread stuck in the heart is thick. It will mean that the death flag is getting closer. The original work would have tried to take advantage of Abel’s weak power but it wouldn’t work as they please, and as long as I am here, it would never work.

No one can touch my lifeline.
