Chapter 2:Bride in black

"How could you do this, dad?" Bract fumed in anger at dad as he threw the glass with force that it shattered into pieces.

"She's your own daughter."

"No father could do this to his own daughter," dad picked up a piece of glass and pressed it on his wrist, "I don't deserve to live. I don't."

Seeing a drop of blood that just fell from his wrist, I ran toward him and snatched the sharp glass from his hold. "Dad, stop it." My voice was louder than usual, "This is not your fault."

"Don't act blind, Flora. You know that all of this is his fault." Bract yelled. I eyed him to stop but he didn't. "He sacrificed you. He bloody sacrificed you."

I motioned my mom to stop him. As far as I was concerned, I knew that if he'd continue arguing, dad might lose his control and would do something terrible. He was already guilty for his action. Though he sacrificed me, he saved his company and employees. And I was proud of him.

"It's okay, dad. It's okay." I assured him as I squeezed his hands, "Everything will be fine, I promise."

"Nothing will be fine after you married him." Bract shouted behind me, "You don't know him, sister. He's a spoilt bastard, a walking fucking machine. He'll ruin you."

"Language, Bract!" Mom shouted at him.

Dad lowered his head, touching my knuckles on his forehead, he mumbled, "I'm sorry. But there was no other way."

I embraced him into my arms and gently rubbing his back, I whispered softly, "I'll marry him, dad. I will." I heard my mom whimpered and Bract kicked the wooden table behind me.

"Please forgive me, Flora." Dad begged and I nodded. "There is something else I want to say."

I broke the hug and glanced at my mom. She lowered her head in guilt. And then I plastered a fake smile and looked back at dad, "It's okay. Say it. What could be more worse than this."

"The wedding will be tomorrow."

"Fuck!" Bract cursed.

"Well-" I responded with a fake smile, "It seems like Today is the day full of bad news."

And with that I gave him last hug and walked out of the room leaving behind my sobbing parents.

"Flora wait!" I heard Bract's voice behind me, but it didn't makes my legs to cease.

"Flora!" He grabbed my wrist and made me turn to face him.

"What is your problem, Bract?" I yelled at him as I pulled back my hand from his rough hold.

His eyes drifted to my wrist that he was holding a while ago and instantly his eyes softened.

He exhaled, "You're not going to marry him."

"You can't stop it, Brother." I informed. I knew there was nothing that could stop this marriage and if it involves to sacrifice myself I'd gladly do this to save my dad's company.

"Be selfish, Flora. For the first time in your life, Please." He pleaded with wet eyes. "You can't marry to that motherfucker."

Seeing the tears in his eyes, I hugged him to assure that everything will be fine. Bad things happen sometimes, and even dawn comes after the dark night. No one can stop this.

"It's okay, brother. I'll make his life a living hell. I promise."

"What about Noah?" He murmured against my neck.

I am sorry Noah. But I can't be selfish. I have to do this for everything I love.

After awhile I mumbled, "Tell him that I love him...so much."

"Your dad and I had so many beautiful dreams about your wedding." Mom croaked, tying a knot at my back. "But this one wasn't in them."

I had been watching her through mirror as she was fixing my black wedding dress. I didn't get why they sent a black dress for wedding. So creepy. God! I didn't even see the guy and I was judging the dress.

"Because it's a nightmare, mom." I sighed, "And it will end soon."

And then she started sobbing again. She had been crying from last night continuously.

"Mom don't cry, please." I turned to face her and wiped her tears away, "Your daughter is a soldier. If you wouldn't strong then how could I fight this war."

She gave a soft kiss on my cheek and wiping her tears, she smiled, "I don't remember since when you got that big."

I smiled back and hugged her.

"Come, mom. Dad and Bract is waiting downstairs."

When we approached at Car parking, I saw Bract had a frown on his face but his expressions turned soft as his eyes met mine. But dad lowered his head because of the liability he felt.

The big buildings that I used to see were getting disappear and then after awhile an abandoned area came in the view. The building was old, every brick of it were moulding. Herbs and shrubs were escaping out of the moulded walls. It seemed like it was going to fall soon. And then my eyes fell on an old man standing on the doorway. He had wrinkles all over his face and he was more looking like a zombie.

"Please enter." He said in a corpse like voice as we approached to him, "Groom will be arriving soon."

"Thanks." Bract said in a mocking way. We entered as old man stepped aside.

Dad and Bract extended their arms toward me. And then  reality hit me. This was going to happen. This was real, everything was real. And it wasn't a nightmare that would go away as I wake up. It was fucking reality. And somehow I had to face it.

Taking a deep breath, I slid my arms around their's and then we walked on the aisle. There was no one for giving the blessings, the hall was full of emptiness. When we reach on the stage, Bract hugged me and, dad and mom gave me a soft kiss on my cheeks before stepping down from the stage leaving me behind with the freaky old man.

I waited for a moment, controlling the urge not to cry and convincing myself that I was strong enough. But all went in vain when the door burst opened and he walked in.

The devil himself.
