BANB CH 01 Born with Abnormal Eyes

They say a person's entire life flashes before their eyes when they are about to die. There seems to be some truth to the saying because as my sight darkened and my pain and suffering gave way to peaceful oblivion, I could see my entire life flashing by like a high-speed revolving lantern.

I was recruited at an early age by an organization due to my unique physique to be trained to fight against monsters that threatened to wipe out the last of us that have been surviving on our planet. Along with many other candidates, I was also put through rigorous training. Even though I was the youngest of all, I was subjected to more cruel and drastic experiments as compared to the rest of my comrades, courtesy of my different and stronger physique.

We finally got equipped with a kind of superweapon that comprised of some form of the essence of those monsters themselves, combined with our modern advanced weaponry knowledge. Armed with the new weapons and encouraged with false hopes, we were sent to fight our nightmares in living form.

Initially, there were hundreds of us, but with each fight, I saw the fall of more than one of my comrades. I kept surviving, again and again, my weaponry kept being upgraded after each fight, and the monster within it bonded to me more and more with each fight.

This kept on happening in a loop until a point came when there was no difference between the monsters and me. I tore into them like a rabid beast, the weapon in my hand had become something unrecognizable to its makers. It had become sentient, my thoughts became its objectives, my blood became its energy, my heart became its life.

Fascinated by my new bond with the monster essence in the weapon, they decided to do a final experiment on me. They fused me with many such weapons and left me amid a sea of monsters. Left with no choice, I fought like never seen before in the twenty years that had comprised of my life till this point.

All that followed was me slashing through their necks, piercing through their joints, crushing their bones, and ripping through their insides. Minutes became hours, hours became days, days became weeks and weeks became months. I fought, I struggled and persisted through the entire ordeal, even started devouring those monsters like an animal to sustain myself.

I don't know when, but at one point all the weapons with me, merged into a single entity that started fusing with my body, enabling me to become the absolute weapon against these monsters. But as all things come to an end, the end came for me too.

The very organization that had trained me to rampage against the monsters now became afraid of my powers and sent their best against me. Now that there were not any more monsters that were more dangerous to them than me, they wanted to wipe me out.

Again, I fought, this time against those I used to call my comrades. They came, they fought against me, they died. This cycle repeated so many times that I started to lose my sense of identity. All I remembered now was to fight and win. My weapon kept devouring their and grew stronger and more alive.

However, the day came finally that I was defeated. They pulled out all stops against me and deployed multiple prototype weapons of mass annihilation just to defeat me. As I lay dying, my weapons somehow turned to particles of light and were absorbed into me just as me sight grew dark and my heart finally stilled forever.

When my eyes finally opened, the only thing I saw was white fog swirling around directionless in an empty land. There seemed to be no end to this seemingly endless white. Trudging on and on, I kept putting one foot in front of others.

I didn't know where I was or what I was doing, but it felt like someone was watching. I knew instinctively whoever it was, didn't mean me harm, and whoever was looking, was seeing what I would do here. So, I kept walking and walking. I could feel something changing about me with every step, but I didn't know what. I just kept walking into the endless white land, somehow enjoying the peace after a lifetime of chaos.

Unknown to me, there were three ancient entities here that kept a close watch on me as they enjoyed the memories of my previous life as if watching a movie, while they watched me trudge around in this place.

They discussed among themselves fervently and the topic of their discussion was precisely the one currently enjoying the peace of his new location.

"Is he not marvelous! He withstands the power of this soul land like a natural. He is made for evolving his soul by devouring soul energy and spiritual energy. That is the best way for him." The first entity said while observing the lone weary soul and taking notes in some form of an ethereal scroll.

"His soul stability suggests incredibly powerful willpower, capable of withstanding any situation. He will grow best in an environment of pressure that forces him to grow and fight for himself. We don't want a flower that grows in a flowerpot, we need a tree that withstands strongest of storms." Another entity with powerful energy fluctuations said with a glint in its eyes as if wanting to fight against the newcomer soul which was the topic of their discussion itself.

"So which world is the best suitable for. Pretty tough choice to make seeing his enormous talent and potential. Such a talented soul, such a horrifying and pitiful past. It's as if the world itself is jealous of his potential and doesn't want him to become what he is capable of. Well, we are responsible for him being here anyway. Let's go and meet him?" The Final entity proposed, acting as the mediator between the other two.

"Why the hurry?" The fighter like entity rebuffed him "Let's see how far he manages on his own. I have rarely seen a soul grow so much with every moment of being here. Most lose their reason for existence and disintegrate into soul energy. But this guy is making me impressed."

"His power and talent will only grow in multiple folds more he stays. If you are planning on letting his soul bathe in ... the energy of this plane, you better be sure he has a way to utilize this properly without it overwhelming him." The Observer entity said while making more notes.

"His world itself, that this soul originated from, gave us that answer. The mortals of that world have lived with struggle and desperation all their lives. They have been forged in battle and as such won't lose their willpower to survive even as a soul. Even if he lacks the complete memories and his identity at this moment, I am sure he will end up surprising us." The fighter entity replied confidently.

"I have an idea, let us try the transmigration thing they so love in that parallel world where all those people keep creating so many divergent timelines for all those existences. It would be interesting, he has had hardships his entire life until this point, let's make it fun for him now." The mediator suggested.

The mediator started the discussion of the details for the transmigration "So which world will we put him in? I vote for either One Piece or Fairy-Tail since I enjoy both."

The fighter objected "It's not about you it's about him. Since he needs the proper guidance and environment to use his power, the world of Naruto will be best. Plus, he already has experience of surviving in a conflict-filled world filled with conspiracies and betrayal."

The observer shook his head at that "He seems most comfortable in his soul form; won't the world of Bleach be the best possible match for him?"

The fighter was enraged "Oi, you blue-haired monkey! You are going to ruin my fun again?"

The observer sniffed in disdain "Your fun results in trouble for others, black-haired destruction gorilla!"

The mediator groomed his red hair while commenting on the other two "Whether we are talking about my perfect red hair or my ideas, both I feel are the best."

"Shut up, you narcissistic ape." He was immediately rebuffed by the other two.

"Fine! Let's all calm down and make a bet on how long he can hold on his current action without giving up in that timeless, ageless and lifeless plane. Whoever wins gets to decide which world he goes to. I bet on three months." The mediator suggested

"Six months." The fighter shouted

The observer squinted at the other two then the wandering soul before saying, "One year."

"That's a big bet right there." The fighter said solemnly "You do realize that absorbing G…... The special energy of that plane for so long will be making him a Dem…..."

"I know, and I am betting on that possibility. In that world, he will only be able to live as he likes with absolute power. I will add one more reward if I win, because of the absolute determination that he needs to withstand that place for one year. If he can withstand that place for the time duration I set, I will fuse one of my minor essences with that aberrant being inside that soul to watch over him as long as he lives."

"Oi, even a minor essence of yours is something a world like that will have trouble handling, but whatever, I like it. It on then?!!"

"It's on!" the other two agreed enthusiastically.

"By the way, you all do know it's already been four months, right?" the observer said smugly

The mediator was devastated at this as he hurriedly started to observe and calculate "What?!! Nooooooo?!!"

Ignorant of the antics of certain dunderheads, I went on walking an infinite distance, with each step I could feel a growth, a sense of fulfillment. I went on walking as if in an enraptured gaze. However, outside my knowledge, my entire being was transformed. Swirling red patterns emerged in my eyes constantly and some sort of energy seeped into my soul.

One year later

The mediator and the fighter gave hateful looks to the observer who was lording over them in glee "You have a good eye, you sneaky villain. You win!"

The observer laughed loudly seeing their ugly looks "Haha! Let's bring him now."

As I kept walking, immersed in that wonderful feeling, suddenly I felt a ripple in the space before me, and I found myself in front of three people who seemed to be triplets. The first one had blue hair, second with red hair and last with a black one. Apart from that, they seemed to be ideal healthy happy middle-aged yet timeless looking triplets.

Though I didn't know about it, they were all pleased seeing my eyes filled with red swirling patterns. The blue-haired one, who was the observer, was the first to speak "Welcome I am God of creation."

"Welcome, I am God of maintenance." The red-haired mediator spoke next.

The black-haired fighter introduced himself the last in a gruff voice "Welcome I am God of destruction."

'Wow, Gods huh. That is a shocker.' I wondered as I observed them

"We didn't mean it to be a shock you know. When we were recycling excess energy of your world, somehow you who were dying, got his soul pulled out by us by mistake. To make up for it we decided to send you into another world as an apology with some of our gifts." Creation God said in a gentle voice

My non-existent heart leaped in surprise 'Oh, gifts from gods. Ok, not as if I remember anything much of when I was alive so going to another world shouldn't be too bad.'

"That's more of our decision. Since you didn't have a lot of good memories in that world, we wiped it off and let you experience everything fresh in this world. Oh, and you will naturally gain a sort of partner who will explain to you our gift. And we will check on you from time to time whenever we feel it is enjoyable... ahem, I mean when we are free. Anyway, off you go, your new life awaits." The creation god responded as if reading my mind

'Hey, wait just a minute, aaaaaah' I screamed mentally as the entire world twisted and turned and I lost my consciousness.

"Hope he does well in his new life. By the way, his eyes are pretty special, aren't they?" the Maintenance god said.
