Jiang Yinyue waited for a few hours before Han Qingshan's lectures were over for the day. She was waiting for this time, but she was nervous.
"Han Qingshan," she called out as soon as they sat down in the car, "I am a little worried and scared," she admitted.
"What if I get recognized by the people of Imperial World? Would they not make it difficult for me?"
Hearing this Han Qingshan chuckled. "What can they do? Just get rid of your fake ID right away, and they have no proof that you are the same person as long as you deny it."
Jiang Yingyue thought about it and realized that it was actually true. Even if people knew that she was Jiang Fengmian, without proof, there was nothing they could do.
Thinking like this, she realized that action was better than thought. She picked up a pair of scissors from her backpack and her fake ID and started cutting it into pieces and dumping the shards in her bag so she could incinerate them later.
It was as if a heavy stone, that had been pressing on her shoulders, suddenly vanished. She felt light and free. Her heart was fluttering with happiness.
Seeing the genuine and happy smile on Jiang Yingyue's face, Han Qingshan also smiled. "I will drive you to your parents," he said. "Say your farewell to them, and then I will fetch you when I am done with my work at the office."
Jiang Yingyue nodded her head and accepted the suggestion. She had been missing her parents after not having seen them for some time, so she was not going to complain over getting one day off.
When she was at home, she saw her parents looking at her with worry in their eyes. Having not seen them for some time, she noticed that they were no longer as young as they had once been.
Her father's hair was starting to turn grey, and her mother had wrinkles around her eyes. It was clear that the life they had lived was harsh, and it had taken a significant toll on their vitality.
"Go back home," Jiang Yingyue said as she hugged her parents. "Go back and look after Fengmian's tomb. Tell him that I am sorry for having been selfish all these years, I will return to the life of Jiang Yingyue."
Hearing this, tears welled up in the eyes of Xun Huiyin, but she forced them back as she nodded her head and hugged her daughter.
Jiang Wei was also emotional. He did not know how to deal with the situation, so he just stood by the side with a slight smile on his lips. As a father, he should be against any man who came too close to his daughter, but Han Qingshan had managed to loosen the knot in her heart, while at the same time allowing her to return to her own life.
He felt they owed Han Qingshan a lot, but he would not force his daughter to be with him if she did not like him. Thinking about it, he could only sigh and leave it in the hands of the two youngsters.
Jiang Yingyue was unaware of her father's thoughts. If she had known, she would become bashful and unable to reply, as she was clear about her own emotions, but she was unsure about Han Qingshan's.
"Little Yue, we are leaving tomorrow," Jiang Wei said. "We have signed over the house to Han Qingshan, and we have nothing more holding us back. We have gotten rid of our fake IDs, and I suggest you do the same soon. Live life with your head held high, and if the life in the capital is not suitable for you, then come back to us. I am sure Fengmian would be happy to see you again."
Jiang Yingyue's eyes turned red, and she nodded her head. She felt that her heart was being torn in two, one part of her wanted to go home, another wanted to stay with Han Qingshan.
Sensing her indecisiveness, Xun Huiyin smiled and patted her arm. "Keep Han Qingshan company," she said with a smile on her face. "He has done so much for us already; the least you can do for him is to look after him."
Jiang Yingyue nodded her head. This was just a temporary goodbye. Her parents were moving back home, and if she ever missed them, then she could always return and visit them.
Like this, Jiang Yingyue spent the day with her parents, and when evening came, Han Qingshan was there to pick her up. The day was over, and the following morning, they would be leaving.
Han Qingshan could sense the slight sadness in Jiang Yingyue, and on the way back to the condo it was completely quiet; no one spoke a single word.
As they reached the condo, Jiang Yingyue saw that there was a wig placed on the table. The wig was long, the hair went down to her waist. It was straight and black, very traditional looking.
Looking at it, some of her sadness vanished. She hurried into her bedroom with the wig in her hands, closing the door behind her, not even giving a second glance at Han Qingshan.
Seeing her rushing in like that, he chuckled and went into his own room to change into some casual wear.
It would be just perfect if he could enter the room just as she had finished dressing as a woman.
