3 Chap 3: Viridian City

I woke up at 8 and got ready in half an hour and left the village the road to viridian city is about 30 km I can run 20 km per hour for about 6 hours so lets go by running I reached the town entrance at 10 am the guards stopped me and asked who I was I told them that I was coming from a village nearby then they took my information and let me into the city first thing I did was find the adventurers guild I went inside and it was just like what you would expect from an adventurers guild a lot of people drinking and laughing some people weeping and drinking I went to one of the booths to sign up the lady at the booth asked

"What brings you here today sir"

""hey I'd like to sign up to be an adventurer""

"I would like you to fill this form telling us your age, occupation and there will be a combat test done on you after you fill the form to understand your power level and place you in one of our adventurer ranks ranging from bronze to diamond if you would like to rank higher than diamond you would have to get rested in the capital"

While she explained all these I filled the form and the form was filled and I asked where the combat test be she told me to go through a corridor and enter the third room on the left

When I entered the room I saw a man standing and he asked me my name I said Brady he opened up a file and placed a tick next to my name then he told me to get into the arena to the left I got in he came after me and told me

"Draw your weapon the combat test will start"

""I don't use a weapon I will be fighting with my fists""

The man started attacking me slowly and I dodged his attacks and tried to attack him after a few minutes he started attacking faster and faster and I was unable to dodge his attacks he told me that I am bronze-1 level which is the lowest level he told me that around level 10 is when you enter bronze-2 level and around 20 you would enter bronze-3 it would go on like this for silver, gold, platinum, diamond with every level having 3 sub levels Then I went and asked if there was any missions on horned rabbits to one of the staff he told me that there was a lot of missions about rabbits but their pay was low normally one whole rabbit body would sell for 2 coppers which was not enough to cover your daily expenses you would need about 20 copper to live comfortably in an inn there was a mission that paid 2 copper for every rabbit horn you brought in that would drop the worth of the rest of the rabbit to about 1 copper but it was a 50% increase in sale price so I turned in 10 rabbit horns and sell the rest for money which gave me 30 copper I already had 20 copper from the beginning so now I has 50 copper and I visited the blacksmith and asked for his cheapest attacking glove he said that there was one for 3 silver which was pretty sturdy and I said thanks I'll come when I have enough money and left I went to the forest and started hunting rabbits my family knew I wouldn't come hime tonight so I was free to hunt as I wanted I was fighting one or two rabbits for a few hours when I heard a roar coming from my left side normally I would go the other way but this one was really loud so I turned to look at where the sound came from and saw that there was a wounded gale wolf running towards me, this monster evolved from a normal wolf when it reached level 20 there was other evolutions that could happen but they wouldn't disband their pack even if there were different wolves from different evolutions so when I saw that the monster was coming I started running because even if I could kill one I definitely couldn't kill 20 of these wolves the wolf started chasing me but it was getting slower and slower as time passed by and I realized there was no pack following it so took a risk and attacked the beast I used drill and attacked where its heart is supposed to be the beast realized it couldn't dodge my attack so it opened its mouth and tried to bite me I was able to punch his hearth with the drill skill and the beast tore of a lot of my right arms flesh the beast died but my arm was bleeding profusely so I bandaged it as best as I can with the cloth of my shirt the bleeding lessened and it started regenerating but I started feeling tired after a while and realized the regeneration actually uses energy so after leaving the forest I didn't go to the city but put up a camp in a hill so I could see if any monsters were coming to attack me and I lit up a fire and cooked some rabbit meat the horned rabbit was about 70 cm in length and 30-40 cm in width so it had plenty of meat to eat I ate at least a quarter of the rabbit before I stopped feeling like I was sapped of all strength I realized I should have gotten a skill from the gale wolf so I started checking announcement log

" you have learned a monster skill named pushing gale"

If I were to take the combat test again I would easily reach bronze-2 and maybe even bronze-3 with my passive skills

I went back i to the forest and started slaughtering the rabbits and learned that after every skill level up the requirement would increase by 10 kills and in the following days I learned that after reaching 50 kill per level it would not increase anymore I killed about 220 rabbits in the last week and now my drill skill was level 7 and it was 20/50 I also learned from the library that when skills reached level 10 they would not level up anymore and wait to evolve and when secret requirements were met they would evolve som my current goal is to reach level 10 in drill and see if it applies to monster skills too

In the last few days I killed a few more gale wolfs and a few more bears but not enough to level up my skills but I killed two more species of wolf lightning wolf and fire wolf of course I didn't kill them one on one there are some adventurer groups that I worked with they had a few person missing and they were trying to fill the headcount so I went out with them once and we hunted wolves there were a group of 20 evolved wolves 13 of them was gale wolves and the 5 was lightning wolf and 2 of them fire wolf the skills I earned from them were also passive skills one of them passive heat the other passive paralyzing passive heat added fire damage to my attacks and passive paralyzing added lightning damage and a mild paralyzing effect not enough to actually paralyze any monster but enough to slow it down a little

My final status screen looked like this

That was when I realized I earned a skill point for reaching level 10 I looked at the passive skill tree and saw that I had a few options but to use my skill point I would need to make one of my three passive skills that I got from the skill tree to be ready to evolve which was pretty away as the highest of them robust skin was only at level 6 so I saved the point and kept on hunting the monsters after I leveled up the drill level to 9 the kill meter changed for the first time in a while and changed from 50 kills to 100 kills which meant that getting a monster skill to highest level would require 400 monsters I proceeded with my life style and finished the last hundred kills required and the system gave me a mission to make it evolve the mission said that I had to kill a horned rabbit king and the skill would evolve I asked around for Horned rabbit king and they told me that it was quite the monster with a level over 50 and it had actually killed a few silver 2 adventurers and almost wiped out a whole 10 man expedition with silver 1 and silver 2 adventurers so I put that aside and started hunting with a few groups to level up my other mobster skills
