Mo Xiangyan could feel that there was someone looking at him eagerly these days. Sometimes he could make sure that it was Aunt Gu, but there was nobody when he looked back.

Mo Xiangyan was a smart boy and he knew Li Yunhong didn’t like Gu Yan. He could feel that Gu Yan seldom came to see him since Mo Yichen had been on a business trip.

In contrast, Aunt Chen Qian came to his home more and more frequently.

“Aunt Gu… Aunt Gu…” Late at night, Xiangyan sat up from his bed. Sweat poured down his cute face.

In his dream, Aunt Gu was begging his grandma to let her stay. She knelt on the ground with the red blood on her forehead oozing out. She was in rags and looking at him with her tearful eyes…

He was struggling to run to Gu Yan, but was controlled by several strong men and he couldn’t even move one step forward no matter how hard he tried. He was crying and screaming.

Looking at Aunt Gu who was getting further and further away from him and finally fell down in a pool of blood, he cried bitterly…

Xiangyan got in a daze in his bed, wiping the sweat from his forehead. It was midnight. His eyes glazed over in the dark night. Fear overwhelmed him.

He fumbled for the switch of the bedside table lamp. The terrible scenes in his dream still haunted him.

The room lit up for an instant. There was a lonely little shadow of him on the wall. Xiangyan looked around uneasily.

Xiangyan thought of those horrible scenes in the movie he had watched these days, so he quickly lay down and covered himself with the quilt.

But he couldn’t get the horrible scenes out of his mind and he also heard strange sound around him. Finally, he was too scared and sat up to shout, “Grandma… Grandma…”

Suddenly, he saw a tablet computer under the desk. It seemed that he thought of something, so he raced out of the bed as fast as he could, reached for his tablet computer in bare feet without concerning the cold floor, and then sped back to his bed.

Xiangyan gave Mo Yichen a video call without hesitation.

After a few seconds, Mo Yichen answered the call. Xiangyan couldn’t help crying at the moment when he saw the familiar face.

“What happened, Xiangyan? Why are you up so late at night?” Mo Yichen said and looked at his son seriously.

Xiangyan wiped the tears from his eyes and said, “Daddy, I’m so scared. I…”

Mo Yichen was gentler under the dim light. He said softly with a smile, “Xiangyan, you’re a little man now, so you have to be tough to overcome the fear inside your heart. Besides, there is no ghost in the world, and daddy has never seen such a thing in my life.”

Mo Yichen knew his son well. The boy was timid but always liked to watch horrible movies in his company.

When Xiangyan watched a horror movie, he couldn’t fall asleep without Mo Yichen’s company. Every time, it was Mo Yichen who put Xiangyan to bed with a story.

Mo Yichen felt sorrow when he saw the poor and helpless eyes of Xiangyan.

“Oh, has Aunt Gu come to see you these days?” Mo Yichen suddenly thought of something. He sat up from the bed, held a pillow and asked seriously.

Mo Yichen said that to divert Xiangyan’s attention on one hand. On the other hand, he did really concern about Gu Yan, because when he called her in his spare time in the evening, her phone was always turned off.

Mo Yichen was upset for not getting in touch with her for one week.

“Daddy, is anything wrong? I have been…” Xiangyan didn’t finish the words when the door was suddenly opened. It was Li Yunhong who opened the door and came in.

“Grandma!” Xiangyan turned his head in astonishment and looked at the woman who entered his room suddenly with a kind face.

“It’s too late. What are you doing, Xiangyan? I have told you to go to bed early at night instead of playing the tablet computer.”

Li Yunhong came to Xiangyan and tucked him up. She said with reproach. Her wrinkled face made her even gaunter.

“Grandma, I am on a video call with daddy.” Xiangyan showed the tablet computer to her.

“Mom!”

“Yichen, how are you? You have to take care of yourself no matter how busy you are.” Li Yunhong was so worried when she saw her son who was weary.

“Don’t worry, mom. I’m fine. There’s no need to worry about my work.”

“Grandma, I want to continue to talk with my daddy. Please give it to me…” Xiangyan grabbed the tablet computer from Li Yunhong’s hands. Li Yunhong had to sit aside and watch Xiangyan playing cute and talking to Mo Yichen.

It was getting late. It was quiet outside. The wind blew against the windows occasionally. Sitting on the edge of the bed, Li Yunhong couldn’t help yawning.

“Xiangyan, did Aunt Gu come to see you recently?” Mo Yichen asked. Li Yunhong woke up at once when she heard that.

“Yichen, it’s too late now. Xiangyan has to go to school tomorrow morning. It’s almost two o’clock.” Li Yunhong raised her arms, frowned and interrupted them.

Li Yunhong knew Gu Yan was at a time when she needed Mo Yichen’s assistance most due to her studio’s bankruptcy. But Li Yunhong couldn’t stand that her son got fooled by Gu Yan over and over again. Gu Yan would destroy the good future of his son.

Mo Yichen knew Li Yunhong’s thought. He just lowered his head and said in a low and serious tone after several seconds, “Have a good dream.”

Li Yunhong got relieved after hanging up. She put down the tablet computer, tucked Xiangyan up, took the fairy tale book and was about to put Xiangyan to sleep.

“Grandma, why didn’t you allow daddy to remind of Aunt Gu? We haven’t seen her for a long time. Is there something wrong with her?” Xiangyan looked at Li Yunhong and asked.

Li Yunhong hesitated for a moment, but she just ignored his words and continued to read the stories. After a while, Xiangyan fell asleep with Li Yunhong’s story.
