52 Agreemen

Name:Bound to Evil Author:Barbare
Amandla was already about to get up to leave, she was assuming that Lazar's mood meant that he would give Buren and Andrew a negative answer and she was quite satisfied with this outcome, 'Farewell assholes.'

"...Okay." Buren replied with a bit of disappointment as he reached for the file to put it away. He had come to the same conclusion as Amandla and upon hearing Lazar he understood that his decision was firm.

'I did what I could.' Buren deplored as he looked at Andrew, whose empty gaze still focused on the picture of his daughter showed that he had lost hope.

"I accept." Lazar finally said without much conviction, contrary to what his hasty decision suggested.

"Uh?" Buren looked at Lazar with an interrogative air, he was so surprised that he wondered if Lazar hadn't made a mistake when he said he accepted.

Anyway, he hoped that it wasn't, because even if Lazar couldn't bring back the disappeared, his attempt could at least calm for a moment the families represented by Andrew.

The influence of these people was such that if they asked him to set up a second exfiltration operation with more men, he couldn't refuse. Unless he doesn't care about the lives of his wife and children.

As for Andrew, he regained his usual cheerfulness when he heard what was really Lazar's decision, "Thank you so much, Logan!" He shouted unrestrainedly while shedding tears of joy.

"*Sniff*... Excuse me!" He knew it was irresponsible to think like that, but Andrew couldn't help himself, he was serene, freed from the burden represented by his daughter's safety.

"That's just that *Snif*... Katelyn is going to be so happy to see you again!" Unlike Buren, Andrew had blind faith in the fact that Katelyn was still alive and that Lazar would come back with her now that he had accepted to try to save her.

'When the fuck is he going to realize that I don't give a shit about his daughter?' Lazar knew it was a shitty interrogation, Andrew was at least as crazy as Katelyn and she had never understood that he didn't want her, even when he had tried to made it clear to her.

'Although, if I have to continue to deal with him for the time I have left in Boston, I'd better not say that in front of him.' There was no point in telling Andrew that he didn't want to join his family of lunatics besides self satisfaction.

Anyway, Lazar knew that this kind of impulsive act would be dangerous with someone as unpredictable as Andrew, who knows what kind of impact that might have?

Lazar felt a small kick from Amandla on his ankle, when he turned towards her he saw her holding the back of her chair and subtly showing him the way out with her eyes, 'Good timing.'

"I'll need this..." Lazar said as he took the file from Buren's hands, "And a troop truck, we'll take care of the rest." He finished saying as he stood up.

"I was thinking of giving you some of my men." Buren said with an insistent gaze.

"Logan... *Sniff* It's safer." Andrew added, in an apparent attempt to take Lazar by his feelings.

'Ah, those old bastards, they keeps their heads on their shoulders.' Something was telling Amandla that this was more a way to monitor her and Lazar or/and determine the extent of their powers than anything else.

"Hmph... It won't be necessary, the two of us are enough." Lazar concluded with a snort as he continued walking towards the door.

"All right, you'll just have to take the truck you came in with." Buren replied, apparently not offended by Lazar's refusal.

"Come back to us soon with my daughter Logan! I'm counting on you!" Andrew shouted to encourage Lazar.

Lazar didn't answer, he opened the door with an expression of revulsion and then went out followed by Amandla.

Walking out of the room, Lazar came face to face with another person he didn't want to see.

"How did it go?"

"Either shut up or I'll break your legs." Lazar replied abruptly to Sullyvan who was waiting alone in the corridor after Amandla had closed the door behind them.

"...!?" Sullyvan was startled, in total incomprehension and not wanting to take the risk of knowing if Lazar was serious, he didn't say a word and looked at Amandla with an air of distress.

"I intend to do much worse." Amandla said to him in an even more hostile tone than Lazar, looking at him like she was looking at a gnat she was hesitating to crush, "We'll meet you in the truck. Get out of my sight."

Buren wasn't the only person that Lazar and especially Amandla had a grudge against for what had happened when they arrived at the TD Garden.

Sullyvan knew what was going to happen, post-factum it was pretty obvious, so of course they were going to treat him like shit. He had chosen his side and it wasn't theirs, that was all they cared about.

'Phew.' Seeing Amandla's words as a way out, Sullyvan didn't hesitate to move away from her and Lazar in a hurry.

When she saw Sullyvan reach the end of the corridor, Amandla turned to Lazar, "Could you explain yourself?" She asked him aggressively.

'Understandable.' Putting himself in Amandla's shoes, Lazar figured that she probably misunderstood a lot of things and that this must have frustrated her.

"Which part? I'm having a hard time making sense of everything that happened myself." Lazar answered her calmly to show her that she wasn't the only one in the dark.
