Wrik kept his eyes on the pike while he balanced the right foot, which was facing the sky. The pike was aimed right at the chest of the female shaman. Though the shot was near perfect, it didn't pierce any part of her body, as an elite minion took it—lunging in front of her.
The female goblin lost focus for a few milliseconds and looked in the direction where the pike came from. Her eyes turned colder as she peered at Wrik.
But how could Tanya miss a chance like that? A huge ice spike over one metre formed as she raised her staff to create another magic circle. It was smaller compared to the one she created for the projectile—it was an acceleration circle that gave momentum to the spike as she hurled it towards the goblin shaman.
The target of the spike, the female shaman, was terrified of her own diminish. But astonishing to her, dozens of the minions regained their berserk nature, threw their bodies in front of her.
"Ton, now." Wrik cried out. The spike was not enough to kill the female goblin as it was received by the minions.
Anton, who regained his freedom from the minions, instantly accelerated his mana. Power surged inside him as he leapt off on top of the goblins in his ghostly fashion. All that happened in a blink of an eye. He reinforced the blade with shadow element and stabbed downwards at the only female goblin who was bewildered and still.
The shaman regained her senses and focused on protecting her body from the incoming stab. Her shield of protection spell was about to complete when the blade shattered it like glass. But the blade didn't just stop there.
Anton poured all his might on the stab and fractured the right shoulder of the shaman. The crude wand that she was holding—fell from her hand as she groaned in agony.
Anton didn't follow with another move. His job was done; the rest depended on Tanya. Besides, the remaining goblins were frenzied towards him with malevolent spirits.
This time Tanya didn't miss. She didn't cast any large spell, but a few ice needles and aimed at the vitals of the howling female shaman. It had already lost the wand and was unlikely to be able to receive any assault in her current state. The needles pierced its heart, neck, and hideous exterior in quick succession. Grey blood busted out of her whole body as it rested in peace.
The goblins who had lost their cool roared in madness after the death of the goblin shaman.
"Alright, the hardest part is done," Wrik announced the news loudly and took a glimpse at the whole battlefield. "Gather up, we'll finish this quietly."
They all gathered up in the form again and assaulted the maddening force of the goblins. Now finishing quickly didn't matter, as the leader of the goblin was dead; they planned to finish the remaining pack of goblins without being injured.
The sun rose abruptly, and as the battle prolonged, the murky dusk started to clear up. It's the arrival of a new day. No birds were singing though, but there was the racket of the goblins agonising in pain. The ground was dyed in filthy grey-green blood as dozens of deceased goblins laid there.
"This is the last one," Anton announced as he finished the last one of the goblins. He cleaned the blade against its dead hides before sheathing it.
[Congratulations to all the users on completing the hidden task.]
[Hidden task - Destruction of the goblin tribe. Completed.]
Everyone just relaxed their mind and body, and a notification window popped up in front of them announcing the demise of the goblins.
"Haha, the rewards are coming now." Anton's next words lightened up everyone's facial expressions. They had exhausted too much on the goblins. Most of them were injured in that process, if not heavily. So rewards were the only thing that could make them a bit delighted.
[Rewards will be given to the 7 users precipitating in the event after the completion of the first phase.]
[Rewards will be distributed according to the user's contribution.]

1. Anton Blaciel - 41%
2. Tanya Syfinn - 27%
3. Wrik Everknight - 17%
4. Davin Mckain - 7%
5. Others... ]
The list of contributions did not surprise Wrik. Anton single-handedly assassinated the goblin chief, plus he played a vital role in defeating the goblin shaman, so no surprise there that he came first with 41% contributions. But he was surprised at the next name, not because of the contributions. Tanya deserved every number of that contribution. He was surprised at the surname. Syfinn. He knew another person with the same surname: Sophia Syfinn. Maybe there was a connection between the two.
It shouldn't be a coincidence, as Syfinn being quite a unique surname like his own. Tanya and Sophia Syfinn should be related. Though, there's too much distinction in their appearance. Tanya has a thin body with dark hair and emerald eyes, Where Sophia was blonde with sapphire eyes, not to speak of her figure. The only similarity they have was the oval-shaped complexion. They should be cousins of some sort. But he didn't ask now, he was too exhausted for that. Not to talk about the wound on the thigh, he felt the piercing pain in his head for the expenditure of overusing the [Eye of Insights]. He still couldn't get used to it.
"Does anybody know when the first phase of the trial will complete?" Anton grinned out, seeing his name on top of the list. He came near Wrik to sit next to him. His fatigue was not any less than Wrik, though it may not be true for pain.
"There's even a phase to the trial?" Wrik asked, bewildered. It was new to him. Lucas didn't mention much about the process in the letter. He looked towards Anton who was as bewildered as him, shook his head. Anton was unaware of it as well. While Davin looked at the slender figure in the front.
Tanya, who was curiously inspecting the new wand that she picked up as booty from the dead shaman, entered the conversation to clear our doubts. "You guys don't know this? Your recruiters didn't tell you that?"
"Our recruiter?!" Wrik and Ton shook their heads together.
"So what are these phases?" He asked again.
"I can't believe this." She looked at the two of them, puzzled. She sighed "Apparently, the trial is divided into three phases where the first and last phases are mandatory. As for the middle phase, there seem to be some conditions that have to be met to skip or take part in it. That is where the trial becomes tougher—as far as I know."
"Do you know anything about how long each phase will last?"
"It depends." She continued while fiddling her new wand. "The highest amount of time for the whole trial was two months where the final phase starts exactly after a month."
"So one month for the first two and the rest for the final phase," Davin repeated, pondering.
"So what do we do in the next phases?"
Tanya didn't answer. She seemed delighted to have a new wand, though it looked kind of ugly.
"We'll think about it when the time comes. For now, let's stick to our previous plan."
