Chapter 179 - Nicholas Predicament

Ch-178

At the end of the day, Nicholas was still a mole. She hated moles to her core. She died because of unfaithful moles in her past life. Esther remembered the time, when she was alive and her obsession over the scummy man, whom she loved like a maniac, but she couldn't remember the things after she met with Bhairav in her past life. It's as if the memories from that time were completely erased or like it has completely not happened. She was curious to know what happened, but all she could see were blurry faces, and Nicholas and Ben's faces were the only faces she remembered. She remembered they both tried to boast about their brother Bhairava and even called her sister-in-law.

"Princess… I don't know what you are talking about…" he trailed.

"You and Narendra used to get me food when I was locked up in your palace and came to boast about your brother's greatness. I don't care if you guys want to live here or not. But… I don't need a traitor and an unloyal guy in my palace… I mean under me. From tomorrow, you will stop working here. And will hand over your work to Michelle by the end of the day. As for Michelle, I don't know what you will do. Don't you dare to think she was a pushover! I will chop your balls if you do! She is my person. I will protect her!" Esther said coldly as the dark aura blasted around her like a bomb, making him flinch back in the fear. Nicholas, even before when she was alive, she wasn't this scary. It's as if she collected resentment from the past two hundred years and became like this. Her eyes were turning darker as seconds passed, revealing her pure blood lust towards Nicholas, for his betrayal. Indeed, he never harmed her or brought any losses to her. But it doesn't mean that was good, he has to pledge his loyalty to her and be her trusted one. Working under her while sharing her details with someone else, it's just sickening. What if the person on the other side was a creep. She heard from Charles Windsors, that she hated him and was locked in the Basilisk Palace by that guy and he was the brother of the person who locked her up. She didn't have many reasons to believe the guy who was related to him.

On the other hand….

Nicholas was sweating buckets of sweat. It's like he was sitting on pins and needles as she spoke. He was shocked when she called him Prince Vikram. Shocked was an understatement…. He was beyond shocked. Never in his dreams, he expected that she would call him with his real name. Damn! What the heck was going on!? What did she do in the past three days!?

I need to tell my brother! He should do something. But before he could do or think something he could see her intense glare on him. When he raised his head he noticed her red eyes were turning darker as seconds passed. But what scared him most was her aura. She was emitting loads of dark aura. He could see the invisible black smoke covering the room emitted from her body. He gulped as he looked at her, he realized another fact that her eyes turned sharper than before. Her beautiful and gentle face turned serious making her features look sharper than before. He felt like he was sitting in front of the Queen of Hell.

Nicholas couldn't stay still silently. He has to open his mouth at least for a second. "Princess... I don't know what you are talking about…" he said hoping that acting dumb would save him from trouble. He knew Esther was a gentle, kind, and good woman. She was never harsh or cruel to others, at least to him. He knew what she did to Arthur but her cruelty was limited to her enemies only to the people who loved and protected her. But now… he felt like the blood-killing robot came to life. He wanted to stay here and enjoy taking care of her but again he wondered if he could have another chance.

If he was fired, then he would be not only facing problems from her brother but also face problems in his love life. He would just run away from his brother if needed, but he couldn't do that for his love. He finally got a chance to make her his wife after a long while. He would even fight with her if needed.

"You and Narendra used to get me food when I was locked up in your palace and came to boast about your brother's greatness." he heard her saying. He was speechless at her words. How much did she remember for Christ's sake? If she remembered everything she wouldn't be behaving like this. She would run into the arms of Cyrus. This could only mean she remembered a few parts of her memory. But the question was how much she remembered.

While he was contemplating his thoughts in his mind he heard her further words. " I don't care if you guys want to live here or not. But… I don't need a traitor and an unloyal guy in my palace… I mean under me."

What!?! Traitor!? Unloyal!? When did he become like that!? Damn! His hard work in getting into her good books just bursted out like that. All his good deeds were buried under the ground and were labeled as a traitor. But her words weren't there. There was more to it.

"From tomorrow, you will stop working here. And will hand over your work to Michelle by the end of the day." So… he should leave after the office hours today itself and would never be able to set his foot here again. He felt a sharp sword slicing his heart mercilessly. This was the end of his love life and the life where he protected his future Sister-in-law and the Queen of Basilisk.
