"You wouldn't disappoint your father with such weakness. You would think of something much more final than death such that Ellie would never want to see you ever again. You're much more cruel than that, if someone hurts you."Deul looked at Henry with a soft smile of someone whom Henry did know know had been watching him closely while he played in the water as a child.
Henry didn't know how to reach so he finally just shrugged."I'm sure I would never harm her without good reason. She's not like the people who were around me back then."
Deul looked up the staircase longingly."Is Ellie in any state to see anyone?I could just peek in on her to see that she's well. It's alright if she can't talk to me or is in a lot of pain."
"Since the idea of me worrying about her disturbs her, she removed me from her staff.I should be quite offended, but women are the interesting puzzle to me.I never understand. But I know she will be delighted to have you with her, I know her trust for you is something that she doesn't question."
As they both made their way up the stairs, Henry quickly explained the whole story behind Ellie's symptoms.
Deul blew in a gasp, "So it really were the nurses who were doing the wrong.I knew I should have tried to make someone to understand my concerns for her.We always say that too much medicine is not good."
"I'm sure that Ellie was confident that the doctors at the hospital were doing the best that they could with the knowledge that they had at the time. She's happy that she found a second opinion to know that they were wrong. She is no longer taking any painkiller to numb her, I imagine great amount of pain."His eyes met Deul's in consternation of this choice."I know very little about medicine and about painkillers.I am worried that she is in much more pain than she tells me.I would rather she takes it until she is more able to move about, but she is as stubborn as her brother."
"When I worked in a garage in China, there was a mechanic who would take a Tylenol with every meal.Every time he would forget, he would get a severe headache and groan about it until someone went to the corner shop and got him some.It always made me suspicious of anything that isn't given herbal."Deul explained with a shake of his head."I can see why Ellie wants to stop before it gets worse. That girl is headstrong, but not to the point of stupidity. She's not going to jeopardize her health when she is well on her way to getting better."
Henry nodded slowly now satisfied."Now that you know you're way around, I think you can find the door. People here speak our language as well so you don't have to speak English if it strains you.If you get lost, remember there are people all around who can help you.If you get the urge to visit Ellie again, don't worry to call me and I'll send people and a car over. You could stay here permanently if you'd like to as well as I know that would make Ellie feel more at home as she regards you to be family.I know you want her to get better as quick as possible."
