Starting to feel how the changes were not necessarily changing his personality, but more so just an amplification of what was already there, Nolan finally relaxed. Michael had brought over an empty clothing rack cart and had started to pull things from the closet. The rack quickly filled with neutral shades with an occasional maroon or navy. Nolan sighed when he saw Michael pass up a zebra patterned suit. Henry raised his eyebrows and Michael cleared his throat before putting it on the rack. Henry crossed his arms with a look of intense scrutiny at his clothing. "Hmm, you know I am quite tired of his moschino suit."
Michael looked at Henry openmouthed with disdained before Henry shot him a deathly look. It was true that Henry was planning on wearing the piece to a gala next week, but he knew that Nolan would have much better use for it. It was a mirror to the daring doctor's style after all. Henry had a feeling that Nolan would get much more fun out of it than he would, now that he was temporarily off the market.
"I'm not very sure that the cut of that will suit him sir?" Michael said suddenly. "Where would he possibly wear something so formal?"
"That's a monied man, Michael." Henry said brashly slapping Nolan on the shoulder so hard that he flinched. "Why don't you put it on? You'd like to prove an old man wrong as much as I?"
Nolan took the challenge in stride as he quickly donned the suit. He was confused when he was offered no tie and the crisp white shirt showed through the lapels of the dark navy blazer. Michael came at him with a steamer before ordering the footman with a heavy fist. "Take out the mirror and set it in front of Mr. Chen please. Quickly now, we haven't got all day."
The task was completely quickly as a mirror was unfolded out of some pieces of wood. Nolan was surprised that of course the designers of Henry's closet would have thought of everything. His skin as as pale as the moon as the black-blue of the suit strangely did drain him out. It make his skin appear strangely luminous such that he touched his face with a strange expression as he touched his own reflection. "I look like I've been airbrushed. There has to be some mistake. Why don't I look like this in my old clothes?"
"Well for once you're cleaned up. You've been hiding behind sloppy looks to make people notice you for your brain and not your face." Henry smiled as he softly ran his hands down the steamed lapels of the suit. It made him excited to see his irritation transformed with simple gestures. The shy scientist to be did have a lithe figure, but once it wasn't swathed in sweat pants and shirts the lankiness was disguised. His straight lines now gave off the imposing air of a man in his prime. His broad shoulders forced the eye up to his hard eyes. The sharp hollows of his face was still intelligent and did feel mysterious in their depths. It was true that his features were not Western enough to be praised by his contemporaries. But he was still something that women would want to look at and smile. Maybe even Janna Wu would have to spare herself a girlish blush.
Now that Henry knew his clothing taste did suit his charge, he turned to the clothing rack and perused through his own clothes with renewed vigor. "I like this vibe on you. No one will doubt your intelligence, but it's not showy. People will part like a sea in front of you to make sure that you get to what you need to do."
