Why are you there?

After the broadcast had gone on for some time it suddenly switched out to show someone trying to jump over a bridge to escape the people chasing them. When I focused closely I was able to discern the truth, much unlike from all the previous pieces of footage, I could distinctly determine who the people on that object flying through the sky over the bridge.

Was that not venerable master and his wife?

If they really wanted to escape, with their level of strength, they could easily just disappear. Why are they putting on such a farce like this dramatic chase?

Was this supposed to be some sort of clue?

Do they actually know where the inheritance is? Maybe the inheritance is where they will be heading next.

I was curious so I decided to probe a bit, "big sister Aoi, do you remember venerable master and his wife?"

"What about them darling?"

Eh? Could it be she can't tell that the two being displayed in the footage are them?

"You don't recognize them?"

"Recognize? You mean the two that were just shown escaping from the cops on that quadricycle? How can you recognize them when their faces are completely blurred out like that?"

Quadricycle? Is that what that contraption is called? Never mind that though, they don't look blurry at all to me. If I'm the only one that can tell it's them, I must be right. It is definitely their handiwork and it must be a clue intended for me.

"Where do you think they will be taken after this big sister Aoi?"

"Of course to prison."

"Oh? Can you take me to that prison?"

"What? Why do you want to go to jail?"

"It probably has what I came to this place to look for."

"Shina, what do I do? My little darling wants to become a convict."

After she boldly declared as such, she took out her phone and called someone up.

"Hello, it's me."

"Did you see the news? You did? Good. Do you know what prison the two on the news will be taken to?"

After fifteen minutes passed waiting in silence she finally got a response and screamed, "what?!"

"He's being taken to that place?! Why? Wait, what do you mean by he? Wasn't there also a woman with him? She mysteriously disappeared without a trace and couldn't be found?"

"You say because of the mysterious disappearance and the abnormal length of time he was underwater the higher ups in that facility have taken an interest in him?"

"But he's just a scammer! No, sorry, never mind. Just forget I said that."

She hung up after she said that.

"Darling, he is being sent to a certain prison that I happen to have a connection to. I can get us in if you really want to go, but that place is a really strange place that has not been made known to the general public. Are you sure you really want to go there?"

"I definitely must go if that is where the thing I'm looking for is."

"Just what are you looking for?"

"It is an ancient inheritance. Venerable master must be going there because of that and used this chance to give me a hint where to go."

Big sister Aoi started another call when she saw my determination.

When she hung up the phone she looked towards me and said, "little darling, apparently they are transporting a batch of fresh prisoners over to the prison your venerable master is being taken to tomorrow. He will probably be transported in that very same batch. Are you really certain you want to go there?"

"Of course I am. A man does not go back on his words."

"Aoi, so you really are a criminal after all? You're even turning yourself in?"

"Shina, by the way; I might have accidentally framed you for a crime so you would be able to come along as well."

"Well, I wanted another accomplice for the crime uncle is going to fabricate to get my little darling and I into that prison."

When Shina heard that she lunged at Aoi, pushed her to the ground and frantically strangled her.

"You slut, you think you can get away with framing people for crimes they didn't commit just so you can drag someone along to bare witness to your stupid lover's retreat?!"

Although, I do need to admit, I'm pretty lucky that I ran into her. Thanks to her I saw the broadcast. Thanks to her I'm able to figure out where venerable master is being taken and I can even gain access to the facility he is being taken to. Thanks to her I even broke through in my cultivation. While I was busy thinking about it, Aoi got up with a reluctant look on her face.

It seemed like she really wasn't joking and wanted Shina to keep going.

I was naturally shocked when I heard of the ridiculous things big sister Aoi did in the past. My fear towards her naturally deepened slightly.

Aoi had a weird smile on her face that I really didn't understand. Is she really okay?
