"A shower? Baby, are you sure of that?"
He cupped her face in his palms to make her look at him, and asked her again, "You sure you want a shower? We need to cover your wound so it won't get wet, and at the same time, it would be difficult for you to wash up with that."
She pursed her lips, thinking of what he said. "But I'm hot. I want to take a shower."
"Baby, we do really need to talk and that involves your antics when you are drunk," his forehead creased with the notion of her doing these things with another man. A wave of irrational anger rose from his chest.
She dropped her head on his shoulder as she sulked, mumbling under her breath, "Why can't I take a shower...I want a shower." she whined.
"Baby, forget me being a doctor, I am now a monk. I need to cleanse myself of all the sins of this world."He took a deep sigh, picked her up from the corner of the sofa, and carried her to her bedroom.
He gently put her down at the edge of her bed, patted her head, "Be a good patient and wait here. I'll go prepare the bathtub."
"Hmm, kay!" she said, grinning like a kid who'd been promised to go to Disneyland.
"Good little Minx," he murmured, kissing the crown of her head before heading to the bathroom.
He looked around the bathroom, as he waited for the tub to fill up. He was thinking that he didn't have to fill up too much water on the tub for Jess to be safe in the bathtub. He worried that she drowned herself there in her drunkenness.
He pulled the basket under the lavatory counter to get some fresh towels and a bathrobe. He put them at the edge of the bathtub, so she could easily reach them. He also opened the medicine cabinet and found some plastic gloves that he could use to cover her wound.
It would be easier for her to move if she can move her fingers easily than if he would cover her whole hand in plastic.
He turned off the tap when he thought it got enough water, and put some bath salt in it. Bath soap, scrub, and shampoo was all within reach. When he was satisfied, he got out of the bathroom to get his patient. He chuckled by himself.
Little Miss Jessie has been leaving her balls blue for two consecutive nights! He had to collect her debt with full interest soon.
Currently, his lieutenant is still in half-mast. He was thinking if he should rub himself to relieve the pain and discomfort for his little minx was just too good at making his lieutenant excited.
His little minx was nowhere in sight when he got out of the bathroom, he knitted his brows as he called her, "Baby? Jess?" He felt relieved when he heard a grunt of acknowledgment from her bedroom balcony.
"Hey," he called her gently, "The tub is ready."
"Noah -- I'm drunk."
He chuckled, "Yes, baby. I am well aware of that."
"But I'm not that drunk," she sighed and turned her back to Noah.
He stepped forward and snaked his arm around her waist, rested his chin on her head.
They gazed at the sea in front of them in silence.
There were some lights in the bars, restaurants, and other establishments at the far right of the villa, but the front of the villa, where they were looking was dark except for the soft illumination of the moon on the water surface.
They could hear the ocean waves caress the shores, the sounds of how the ocean breathes as it hit the shores was as rhythmic as Noah's heart that she could feel pressed on her back, for she was imprisoned in his tight embrace.
"Noah --"
"Jess --"
They chuckled, breaking the awkward atmosphere.
"You go first," he pressed a soft kiss on her temple, as his hand stroked her arms.
"Ugh," she cleared her throat and took a deep breath, and let out a soft long sigh. "I don't know where to start because I don't know what we are." she felt Noah was about to say something, but she beat him to it, "This --" her voice faltered, and she was lost for words.
"Baby, there is us...," he tightened his arms around her, as though by doing so he could make her agree to him, "what we don't have is a label of what is us."
"Label does not matter," she said, cutting him off.
"I do agree to some extent. However, you must be aware by now that I am a jealous man, Jessica. I want mine to be mine alone." he murmured in her ear in a deep raspy voice, like he was controlling his emotion but failed.
Jess stared at the dark sea, she could make out of it, she knew what it looked like and where it was despite the dark -- just like her feelings for Noah. She knew it was there and knew what it was but she couldn't make sense of it because until now, Noah doesn't remember her from the past.
She stroked the strong arm that enfolded her. As she took a deep breath and sigh, she was deliberating in her mind… 'Should I ask him?'
"Baby, I'm not good at waiting but if it is time that you need, I can --" he heaved a deep sigh, clasped her shoulder, and turned her around so they were facing each other. "I'll wait."
He was standing directly under the fluorescent light, and she could clearly see his eyes that always remind her of home -- she stared at them like she wanted to be taken away.
Tip toeing on her bare feet, she ran her fingertips across his strong jawline and felt his stubble prick her skin, she closed the gap between their lips and murmured, "Let it run its course."
