Antonio was busy with the corporate lawyers while Noah was on the phone with Jess.
Noah was able to talk to Jess's doctor and he told him Jess needed to take a rest and advice to minimize the phone call. Noah doesn't like the doctor Markus has for Jess the moment he said, he had to end the phone call with Jess.
But then, he knew that he was just an asshole. He then, talked to the doctor if it is possible to set up Jess's camera a bit far from her but somewhere where they can keep the call and he could watch Jess sleep and take her much-needed rest.
Dr. Patel disappeared from the phone screen but he could hear that he was murmuring something to someone in the room. After a few minutes, Dr. Patel's face appeared on the phone screen again.
"Mr. Tiefenbacher, Aadir would find something that we could use to set up, Miss Zimmerman's phone, could call back?"
"No. Keep the phone line open. I'll wait." he said in a stern voice. He said the words in a tone, clearly letting the doctor know that he wasn't taking any more chances.
Jess was out of his sight and this shit happened. He meant what he told Jess that when everything settled down, he would keep her with him twenty-four-seven!
He sighed deeply and started bouncing his knees. He found himself humming the song Jess always asks for him to hum to make her fall asleep.
He glanced at his clock and saw the time. They only had been on the air for forty-two minutes! The flight would take a long time. It would take so many hours before he could touch Jess and have her in his arms.
'Damn!' he uttered under his breath as he continued to shake his knees in nervous anxiety. Dr. Patel took a long time to set up Jess's phone. All he could see on the screen was the room ceiling. The doctor must have put down the phone facing upward.
He wondered if Jess was already asleep because when the doctor took Jess's phone, she was already yawning. Jess told him she wasn't feeling anything wrong with her body other than sleepiness and fatigue.
According to the doctor, it must be the reason why Jess fell asleep in the tub the other night.
Noah felt extremely guilty about his previous reaction to Jess falling asleep in the tub. He was still beating himself with self-loathing when a face of a young man appeared on the phone screen.
"Hello," he whispered. "I'm sorry but I will put the camera on the stand."
Noah watched the young man's face furrowed in concentration as what he was doing.
"What are you doing?" he asked, trying to make a conversation.
Before the young man answered him, he glanced over his shoulder, then whispered, "I'm screwing Miss Zimmerman's phone on a tripod. This is my first time doing this, I am sorry if I'm not doing a good job."
"Just do your job. And while you are doing your job, can you tell me how Miss Zimmerman was?" he asked because he noticed that the young man kept on glancing over his shoulder.
Aadir glanced over his shoulder again and stared at Miss Zimmerman, peacefully sleeping on the bed.
"She's asleep," he whispered. "Rather peacefully sir. I think she was happy to talk to you," he smiled shyly at Noah.
"What is your name?"
"My name is Aadir. I am the man that Mr. Markus was assigned to take care of Miss Zimmerman but I didn't do my job well," he bit his lower lip, and his eyes shook in fear. "Mr. Markus told me Mr. Noah would kill me if something bad happened to Miss Zimmerman," he wiped his eyes because he cried when he started talking about Miss Zimmerman.
"Miss Zimmerman was very kind to me. But Mr. Markus said, Mr. Noah is a ruthless maniac that would kill anybody if Miss Zimmerman was harmed," he glanced over his shoulder again and lowered his already soft voice.
Noah would have a hard time understanding what Aadir was mumbling under his breath if Aadir wasn't talking right on the phone. He suffered a facial cramp from trying to keep an expressionless face after what he heard from Aadir.
Once he landed and made sure that Jess was fine, he would definitely kill Markus!
Aadir found the man on the phone easy to talk to and also because ever since Miss Zimmerman got sick, no one was telling him anything. Mr. Markus left after they took some blood from Miss Zimmerman.
And he was told not to go anywhere, not even for a blink of an eye, in any circumstances that he should take his eyes off Miss Zimmerman. That's why he has been staying inside the room, few steps away from Miss Zimmerman's bed to follow Mr. Markus' orders.
Now, it is night again and Mr. Markus hasn't come back. He would hear Dr. Patel murmured on the phone with Mr. Markus about something that he doesn't really understand.
Dr. Sison and another young woman visited Miss Zimmerman but she was asleep when they dropped by and just stayed for less than five minutes. Dr. Patel doesn't want anyone in the room.
Mr. Markus must have told Dr. Patel about Mr. Noah for him to be very strict in keeping everyone away from Miss Zimmerman.
"Aadir? Your name is Aadir, right?" Noah called the attention of the young man who suddenly had his face shown clearly on the phone screen. He had no idea what happened but the camera became bright.
"Yes, sir. Sorry sir I was fixing this stand and its light," he was still speaking in a steady voice. He lifted the stand and brought it in a bit far from Miss Zimmerman's bed because the light was too strong. Her sleep might be disturbed.
"Sir? How about now? Can you clearly see, Miss Zimmerman?"
"Yes, I can. Thank you."
"I will try to bring this stand a bit further. The light was too bright I think."
Noah waited for Aadir to set up the camera stand at a distance he thought would not disturb Jess's sleep.
"How about now, sir? Is it clear?"
"Yes, it is. Thank you."
"Your welcome, sir." he smiled. "Uh by the way, what is your name, sir?"
"Mr. Noah," Noah said, biting his tongue in order not to laugh when the blood was lost on Aadir's face.
