Jean and Moore made their way into the canteen. They took in their surroundings and found just a couple of people around. The reason being that it was still very early for supper. Looking at it as an advantage, they quietly sat down to talk peacefully. They found a place in the corner and ordered food right away.
Their order took less time than they had expected. The waiter brought a huge pot with everything they had ordered. Moore was not hungry at all but as soon as the food arrived, Jean started to devour everything at once. They both had decided to sit facing each other. But seeing Jean eat her food deliciously, Moore raised an eyebrow.
Moore was curious about Jean's past. He always had this urge to ask her about it but he never did.
Everything flashed through his mind. He had heard that Henry was a ruthless human being who didn't care for his own daughter. Her stepmother even tried persuading him to treat Jean right but he just couldn't. The real question that remained unanswered was if all that was true.
"Jean, can I ask you something? I don't know if it is appropriate at this moment though." He could see the expression of her face change and something went through her mind. Moore had always hesitated in asking her about anything and this time, he had made up his mind to ask Jean about her past.
"What is it that you want to ask me?" As soon as the words were out of her mouth, she nodded in assurance to make sure that Moore could proceed with his question.
"With everything that has been going on, I don't know if you know this or not but everybody at the hospital knows about the Wen Family. Joy and Shirley have denied the facts and instead cried their hearts out in order to prove themselves innocent. Now, everybody thinks that you are the ungrateful one...."
Before Moore could finish, the tone of Jean's voice changed. Moore realized this as soon as Jean started speaking. She said,"They are very good at playing tricks and making sure they are shown as the innocent ones. I have known this since the beginning. We all know that the two of them babble a lot and we cannot stop them from gossiping. If that is what they wish to do, then so be it... Moore, you don't have to worry about me. There has been a lot of rumours about me throughout my life and I have stopped caring about them at all."
"This is not what I am worried about. We both hate Joy and Shirley a lot but Henry is your father. You cannot feel the same about him. He is still in the coma. Do you want to go to see him? We are currently in the same hospital as your father. You should probably go and see him in person. I assure you that your feelings towards him will change drastically!" Moore persuaded her patiently.
Upon hearing that, Jean's brow furrowed and she immediately dropped her chopsticks. She stared at Moore for a few seconds before asking,"Moore, do you have anything else to say to me? Just say it."
"I heard a nurse talking about Henry. She said that Henry might never come back to his senses again. Seeing this as the golden opportunity, Joy and Shirley have decided to give up his treatment if he doesn't wake up from the coma. I met them today because they came to see you. They wanted to tell you that Henry'
“Who does she think she is? I won’t marry her even if she is the last woman on earth,” said Hiram Rong.
“Marry into a family with tens of billions of assets? How lucky I am! I won’t be so foolish as to break off the engagement. At worst, I can receive money as part of the divorce settlement,” said Rachel Ruan.
Their great-grandfathers made a pact about their engagement a hundred years ago...
at really is going on... Shirley and Winner are fighting each other for your property. You already know that your son is no good against Shirley. So far, Shirley hasn't gotten the property, only because her evil acts were disapproved by Joy. If they would have been approved by her, I am sure she would have had the property by now. Just today, I saw Joy and Shirley walking together on my way. They seemed to get along just fine. Judging from the way they talked and laughed, I am sure that Joy will stand with Shirley regarding all the issues.
You spent your entire life in making sure the company thrives but now Shirley will take it over. She will ruin everything that you have ever worked for. You have to wake up if you don't want your company to be ruined by your mischievous daughter. Henry, I know that you are ruthless and emotionless like a cold-blooded animal. When you married my mother, it didn't take too long for you to divorce her. You did that without any hesitation and married Joy, that bitch!
I am sure you have paid for what you have done. If you don't wish to see your company and property destroyed by Joy and Shirley, you have to wake up right away..." Jean was angry and she kept on saying what came to her mind. In between, she heard a faint murmur.
"You... are talking... nonsense..."
All of a sudden, Jean could feel emotions rush to her face.
She quickly glanced at the bed to make sure that this was not something that she was imagining.
She found Henry trying to completely open his eyes and staring at her with great hatred.
Weak enough, Henry even mustered the last strength he had to stare at Jean.
'You really don't want to see me, right?' Jean smirked.
"I am not talking nonsense. You can go and find out yourself." Jean mockingly said,"Since you have just woken up, you should not use too much energy. I am going to call the doctor for you. If you are wise enough, then remember what I've said and don't question them face to face. And on top of that, I don't believe that you are an idiot. That was just something that I added without thinking much about it. I believe that you won't do anything foolish."
