"What happened?" Zed enquired as he looked at the guilty expression on Jesse's face with furrowed eyebrows.
"Were you talking to her near the stairs just now? I saw her running angrily towards your study to find you, so I stopped her. Maybe I said something inappropriate. She was looking rather upset,"
Jesse told nervously.
Zed's brows furrowed even more tightly. Glancing at her anxious expressions, he sighed,"She'll be fine. Don't worry."
He patted her on the shoulder to comfort her.
Jesse nodded. "Will you talk to her? I meant no harm you know?"
"Okay. I'll tell her." Zed answered vaguely and went back into the bedroom.
Jesse looked on as his back receded away from her. Slowly, a complacent, complex smile crept over her face.
She thought to herself, 'Jean, you are not my rival. Hum.'
Zed quietly pushed the door open and immediately noticed the darkness inside.
The blackness seemed to startle him, 'Isn't she here? Did she run away because of Jesse?'
Worried by the idea, Zed reached out a hand and switched on the lights.
Jean was crouching on the bed and seeing her asleep, he breathed a sigh of relief as his face softened.
He walked toward her step by step, careful not to make a sound, afraid she would wake up.
Through the warm light, he saw that Jean, covered in her quilt, was in a sound sleep, with her back turned towards him.
Though only one side of her face visible, it satisfied him and he licked his lips.
The void in him, which had been there for days now, suddenly seemed filled. A great sense of pacification overwhelmed him.
He took his bathrobe cheerfully and walked into the bathroom, humming a soft tone in sync with the flow of water.
Jean slowly opened her eyes, but didn't turn back. She just kept them wide open and slightly furrowed her brows.
The bed was so familiar to her but what she felt was totally alien and made
When her sister ran away from the wedding, Autumn was forced to marry Charles.

Autumn had never thought that she would fall in love with him.
was amused and let her be. He took his phone and started to browse randomly. Evidently, he was in a good mood.
Jean couldn't stand it anymore, so she listened carefully but heard nothing. After she was sure that there was nobody outside, she let out a hot breath and took off her quilt.
When she was about to exhale all the heat in her body, she saw Zed glaring at her and she was petrified.
'So he hadn't left. He was still there, '
Jean asked herself repeatedly in her mind. 'How could that be? The whole quilt was occupied by her. Why was he still there?'
"Hehe... I am hot..." Jean felt the embarrassing atmosphere, so she smiled foolishly and waved her hand to cool herself down.
When Zed's eyes fixated themselves on her messy clothes, they glittered. He suddenly held out a hand toward Jean, his face unchanged.
Jean's hand paused. Seeing Zed's hand coming toward her, she stared and said,"You... What do you want?"
Hearing her, Zed's hand stopped. He looked at her silently, but continued to reach forward.
Jean couldn't help but close her eyes. She was nervous inside and kept rubbing her clothes with her fingers, her heart pounding heavily.
'Now what?
I can't rival him orally. And I can't rival him physically.
What can I do?'
