As Jean heard Benjamin's words, she looked at Zed helplessly.
Zed patted her on the shoulder to comfort her and took her towards the car.
She had no choice but to be pulled towards the car.
As Benjamin saw Zed and his wife held each other, he snorted coldly and turned his head around. He looked unhappy.
Jean smiled bitterly when she saw Benjamin's reaction. She quickly thought of something and asked,"Grandpa, are you thirsty after such a long flight? Are you tired or not? Would you like to rest?"
She spoke as gently and softly as possible so that Benjamin didn't get a chance to find fault in every word she spoke.
When Zed saw Jean trying to please his grandpa, he immediately gave Jean a thumbs up behind Benjamin's back.
Jean responded with a smile.
"You don't have to pretend. Go away and don't disturb me for now!" Benjamin, who was not touched by her gentle tone, just replied angrily.
"Grandpa, I know I was really rude to you. I shouldn't have talked back to you, and so I want to apologize to you. I am so sorry! I know you are a tolerant person, so please don't get angry at me." Jean pleaded humbly and was not discouraged by his cold behaviour.
Benjamin frowned and couldn't stand Jean's words. He shouted at Zed in a cold voice,"Zed, tell your wife to stop nagging. She's too noisy. Didn't you hear that?"
"Okay, Grandpa! Jean, let grandpa rest first. You can wait until we get home and take good care of grandpa then so that he realizes how good you are." Zed reached out and pulled Jean closer to him, and reassured her with a voice loud enough for Benjamin to hear.
"You!" After Benjamin heard this, he instantly lost his temper and shouted,"I'm not going back! Gregory, find me a hotel!"
"Grandpa, please don't do that!" Zed stopped him in a hurry. "Please don't get angry. When we get back, I'll ask Jean to make you a nice meal so that everything gets back to normal," Zed quickly said.
"Can she cook? Don't make it taste like dog food! I still miss Zelda's cooking." Benjamin sneered. But he was not so angry as before.
"Grandpa, I'm not favouring her, but Jean's cooking is really good. If you don't believe me, you
It all starts on that fateful night.
When Ella, who is the dear sister of Samuel’s best buddy, sneaks into the hotel where the drunken Samuel resides and gets pregnant…
"I don’t want a divorce!"
"I don’t want a divorce!"
"I did no such thing!"
Ella jumped on the bed and cried out. “I don’t want a scheming woman as my wife. Just sign the paper...
hing that I came here for," Benjamin said as he looked at him seriously.
"Grandpa, didn't we agree on this? When I'm thirty-five, I'll go back to the Imperial Capital." Zed sighed. He knew that he cannot escape this, and in order to postpone it, he had to talk about the agreement.
"Actually, that is exactly what we agreed on, but what have you done in H City for all these years? You haven't made any progress in your business, and you've married a girl who doesn't satisfy me at all. I don't object your marriage, but at least you should have married someone like Jesse. Well, it doesn't matter now. I don't care about your marriage, but you have to go back to the Imperial Capital with me!" Benjamin insisted.
"Grandpa, isn't Uncle Simon taking care of the industry in the Imperial Capital? He has been doing very well. Why do you want me to go back with you?" Zed asked helplessly.
"Your uncle..." Benjamin exclaimed. "It has been thirty years since he started the business with your father. No matter what, he is still my adopted son. Zed, to tell you the truth, he... has only six month to live."
Suddenly, Benjamin's eyes turned red and Zed could see tears in his eyes.
"Grandpa, what did you say? What's wrong with Uncle Simon?" Zed was shocked and asked quickly.
"He has been diagnosed with liver cancer. And I'm afraid this will be the last year of his life!"
Benjamin hid his face with his hands and sighed helplessly.
