"Jean…" Zed's face turned gloomy and dark. And he sternly chided her in a disappointed tone as he glared at her,"How many times do I have to tell you? You are pregnant now. You must be careful while doing something as simple as walking on the road. I expected better from you than putting yourself in unnecessary danger. You come with me to the doctor and get checked up. If you are fine, I will forgive you this once only. But if something has happened to you, then I am going to punish you even more!"
Jean had already expected Zed to be angry when she had seen him. What was unexpected was exactly how much angrier he was than she had thought.
"I am sorry, Zed. I won't do anything like this ever again. I was worried about Moore so I went out with him. I hadn't expected that such a bad thing would happen to me outside."
Jean said dejectedly.
"You clearly know how dangerous it is for you to remain outside," Zed was still a little angry and was still acting stern and tough. "Jean, from now on, you are not allowed to leave the house. You have to stay indoors at all times. Do you understand?"
"What?" Jean stared at her husband in shock. What he had just said was unbelievable.
'Is Zed going to ground me at home and not let me leave until the baby comes?'
Jean wondered, 'Is that really necessary?'
She wanted to refuse those orders there and then, but when she saw just how angry Zed was at her, she merely drooped her shoulders and let it be. She had to accept the punishment for at least now.
"Okay! I will listen to whatever you say. Please stop being angry, okay?" Jean swayed Zed's arm gently in an effort to sway him to her side.
She was thinking, 'If I keep arguing with Zed about my punishment right now, that would be a stupid idea.
He is really angry at the moment and any further arguments will only add fuel to the fire.
I should be patient for a few days and whenever Zed is in a good mood, I will talk to him. It will be easier to convince him to reconsider in the future.'
Zed hadn't expected that Jean would be so obedient and perhaps that was why he was slightly surprised.
'It looks like she has accepted her faults and agrees to what I say, which isn't wrong by the way. After all, she is pregnant now. Even if she doesn't think about herself, she has to think about the baby in her womb.'
Zed felt relieved on hearing her agree, and he let her know the same.
"I'm glad you feel that way, Jean." Zed reached out his hand and patted Jean's hair. "Now, tell me,
“Do you still want to run away after what happened last night?”
Their relationship changes overnight. She tries to keep her distance from him, while he comes closer and closer.
Spoiling her, he gives her everything she desires. His only wish is to keep her around. The whole world is envious of what she has.
“Never rush in a relationship,” she says calmly.
t want to visit you!'
"I want to tell you something!" Jean walked over to Henry, and indifferently replied to his question, completely ignoring the expectations splashed across his face.
"Okay." Henry nodded quickly, but in confusion.
"It's about my mother. I think it is necessary to let you know the truth about her death," Jean said slowly with her eyes fixed on Henry's face.
The topic seemed to awaken some old latent flame inside Henry, whose face turned gloomy and annoyed. "That was so many years ago. Don't you think there is no need to talk about it anymore?"
"No. I don't think so, and neither should you!" After saying that, Jean took out her mobile phone and quickly dialled someone.
After talking on the phone for a few while, she hung up peacefully and leisurely looked at Henry who was still looking at her in confusion.
"Who did you call?" He couldn't help it and finally asked.
"She will be here soon, and then you will know what really happened that day." Jean deliberately spoke cryptically, and then looked at Zed who was standing next to her. "Zed, this may take a while. You can go to the car and wait for me there."
She knew that Zed didn't want to be there at the moment and she made it easy for him to leave.
"It doesn't matter. I want to accompany you." Zed held Jean's hand gently and smiled.
His words made her feel happy and wanted and a bright smile appeared across her face. Resting her head on his shoulder, she hugged him tight. Seeing the intimate scene, Henry was moved and tried to make up again.
"Jean, you are my only daughter now. Please forgive me, okay? I will try to make up for the mistakes I made before…"
