"What's the matter?" Jean asked after a short pause.
"The moment your father saw me, he asked if you were the one who sent me there. When I said yes, he began to push me outside and asked me to tell you to relax and he would take care of himself and wait for you guys back home..."
Moore said, trying to remember everything that had happened on his visit.
Upong hearing this, Jean immediately felt at ease. God knows how hard she struggled to calm herself down the whole night.
"When my dad says he's fine, he's fine. At least I don't have to worry as much. It's my fault. I overthought it. But it was so kind of you to go to the hospital. I really appreciate it," Jean apologized sincerely.
"When you guys come back, remember to treat me. Then we can call it quits. Actually, Jean, I'm still missing the time when we were in the hospital, and the night fair where you treated me..."
Jean could hear Moore's yearning from his low and deep voice.
"A piece of cake. Since you're so fond of eating, you can take Avery along with you so that the two of you can have a good time," Jean teased.
"I'll wait for you to treat me. It's a deal. Ok, Jean, I have a lot of work to do now. Let's talk later."
Moore hung up without waiting for Jean's reply, sounding as if there was an emergency.
After that, all that Jean could hear was the beeping from the phone. She was bewildered.
'Since when did the graceful Moore become so impetuous?
He was just talking about the snacks at the night fair...
Why is he a little weird today? Or am I overthinking again?'
Jean was still trying to find out the reason why Moore behaved out of character when the bedroom door cracked open. Someone's footsteps walked inside the room.
She walked outside in a hurry to check who it was. After all, she should be careful and take care of herself in a place she was not familiar with.
The moment she walked out of the parlor, Zed was walking towards the bedroom. Jean let out a sigh of relief.
He was surprised to see Jean come out. When he saw Jean's still damp hair, he got even more confused, "Jean, did you take a shower?"
"Yes, I got sweaty. Figured that I might as well take a bath," she said matter-of-factly. "Did you talk with Grandpa Benjamin?" she asked.
"It was just a casual talk. Kirk was there too, so we also talked about Uncle Simon's condition." There
"Do you know what you did wrong? It's alright if you just wanted to own me. But you should not have helped Molly leave me!"
When Brian learns the truth, there is no chance for Hannah to win his heart.
Molly, who wants to run away from Brian, seems to be the only one to blame for Hannah's misfortune...
she was.
The three came into the living room, and the first thing came into view was a beautiful girl with a bright red dress who was standing by the window and watching the flowers in the garden. Sean, who was reading newspaper, was incomparable to her brightness.
The footsteps attracted Jesse to turn round. When she saw Zed, she greeted happily, "Zed..."
Then she saw Jean who was holding Zed's arm, and the smile on her face froze.
"Nice seeing you again, Jesse. We didn't think you knew about our arrival and would come here so soon!" Zed smiled at her as he held onto Jean's hand. He pretended not to notice her change the moment she saw Jean as they walked towards her.
"If I knew Jean and you arrived today, I would have picked up you two myself. Aunt Jade should be blamed because she didn't say anything to me. Right?"
Jesse grumbled in a cute manner, turning to Jade.
"Dear Jesse, you can't blame me," Jade replied, with a wry smile. "I don't have the heart to ask you to get up at midnight. You girls are always saying to sleep enough to keep your skin smooth. Girls like you should be more careful about your beauty. Now it turns out that my kindness leads to your discontent. Dear Lord, how innocent I am! But if you insist, I have to apologize..." Jade couldn't bear her charm.
"Aunt Jade, please don't take it seriously, I didn't really mean it. It was just a joke. I know you care about me. You are always the best." Jesse held Jade's hand and smiled at her, like a pure baby. The enchanting smile on her beautiful face made people forgive her easily.
