'From her perspective, that's not a problem at all.
It's normal for her to react that way—she'd been with Ethan before after all.
I shouldn't have gotten mad at Jean, ' Zed thought to himself.
"Well, don't think about it too much. Try some roast duck," Jean said, trying to change the topic.
Jean held up her chopsticks and picked up a piece of roast duck and placed it in his mouth.
Zed stared at Jean, lost in thought as he chewed on the roast duck.
"What are you thinking about?" Jean asked, confused. She didn't know why Zed looked like his mind was far off. Jean added immediately, "You're still mad at me, aren't you?"
"No, I'm not. I'm just thinking if I should take you to the museum so you can completely forget about him,"
Zed said nonchalantly.
"Don't bother. I've already forgotten all about him," Jean immediately protested, forcing a smile. "You don't have to do anything for me, okay? I'm not interested in him."
"Really?" Zed looked at Jean and teased, "I heard that Ethan came back from Spain this morning. How about I arrange an appointment for you two?"
"Zed!" Jean yelled at him, looking angry. "If you joke about that again, I won't talk to you anymore."
Zed felt relieved. "Alright! I'm just kidding, Jean. Let's eat! If there's somewhere that you want to go after you finish eating, just let me know, okay? I'd love to show you around," Zed said.
"No, I'm full. I don't want to go anywhere just home," Jean snapped. Jean wasn't in the mood to do anything anymore after having an argument with Zed.
"I'm sorry, Jean. It's my fault. I shouldn't have started a fight with you. I'm just feeling... a little bit jealous," Zed apologized. A resigned look crept up on his face. He continued, "I was angry because you mentioned Ethan first."
"I knew it! You are a petty guy!" Even though no one was around, Jean didn't want to embarrass Zed so she spoke in a low voice. But she couldn't contain her anger anymore, so she said between gritted teeth, "You're so petty, Zed. Why couldn't you just let it go?"
Zed looked dejected. He couldn't control himself and he knew it was

immediately turned to Zed.
Zed put out his hand and tapped on her hand, then opened the door.
Jean hesitated for a moment before following Zed out of the car. When she stepped out, she pursed her lips in uncertainty.
Ethan stood in front of the car and stared at Zed.
"Haven't seen you for long, Jean," Ethan said with an easy smile.
"Long time no see," Jean greeted politely.
"What are you doing here?" Zed asked coldly.
Ethan acted like he didn't hear Zed instead he kept eyeing Jean with that smile of his.
The smile was so affectionate and full of love. The way Ethan was looking at her made Jean reminisce.
The way Ethan was looking at her was the exact same way he used to look at her back when they were still together.
'Ethan and I are over. Past is past.
Our relationship has ended for ages. We aren't even friends anymore after what happened.
And I'm married to Zed now. How dare he look at me like that in front of my husband?' Jean thought to herself, trying to make sense of what was happening.
Jean glanced at Zed who was, as expected, glaring at Ethan.
"You're here to talk to Zed, right? I'll leave you two alone," Jean prompted. "Zed, I'll wait for you in the car,"
Jean said to Zed with a smile.
Jean went back to the car without another word to Ethan.
"Jean..." Ethan called, worried. He couldn't understand why Jean was acting so cold towards him.
